And we're back with another Sound Mind Series! This time it's the book of Revelation. I hope and pray that you all follow along to the VERY important and urgent reminders left to John, by our Lord, Jesus Christ.
All right, everyone.
2
:Welcome back to another
episode of I Can't, He Can.
3
:I'm Sarai, and we are going to
be doing today the Sound Mind
4
:series, the Book of Revelation.
5
:I am so, so excited, you guys.
6
:I've been a little anxious, if truth
be told, not in a bad way, like bad
7
:anxiety, but just anxious because
I want to do this book justice.
8
:as every book, of course, you know.
9
:At any time, even if it's not reading a
book for the Sound Mind series, but just
10
:if we are doing any sort of recording
that has to do with anything of scripture,
11
:the word of Jesus Christ, we have to do
it justice and we have to do it right.
12
:so I don't know why, but I just feel
like I have, this weight of what this
13
:book is, and I feel that that is the
sensation and feeling that a lot of
14
:people get about the Book of Revelation.
15
:A lot of people are just,
What's the word I'm looking for?
16
:Oh my gosh.
17
:I'm having like a total like
squirrel brain moment right now.
18
:Intimidated.
19
:Oh my God, you guys saw
when I remembered the word.
20
:so a lot of people are intimidated,
not just by the Bible, but
21
:by the Book of Revelation.
22
:And that heaviness that I feel like
I have weighing over my shoulders
23
:is not so much because of the book
itself, but making sure that I have
24
:the right message, coming across the
screen and to whoever is watching,
25
:and of course to whoever is reading.
26
:Now, as I always say, have your Bibles.
27
:You guys know that I
have my Bible right here.
28
:I have my New King James Version Bible.
29
:That is the only version I read from.
30
:when I first started my walk with
Christ, I used to read from the
31
:World English Bible, acronyms
WEB, which is great version also.
32
:But this to me is just more precise word
for word translation, and it's, it's
33
:just very easy for me to understand.
34
:Now, with that said, before I get into
our introduction about Revelation,
35
:something that has been weighing on me,
And it's a little side note not really
36
:having to do with this Sound Mind series
for Revelation that we're going to do.
37
:it's something that dawned on me, in
my Wednesday Bible study with my church
38
:Living Upward and even on Sundays,
when, when we do the, church service.
39
:Now, when I started my walk, I
think I mentioned in one of the
40
:episodes before, I had no idea
what version of the Bible to read.
41
:Anyway, long story short, now I read
the NKJV as I always tell you guys.
42
:However, as I started reading, I
felt a lot of confusion reading I
43
:feel like the people that listen
to this podcast are people that
44
:actually do read as much as they can.
45
:Can we always read a little bit more?
46
:Yeah, absolutely.
47
:But I do feel that the people who
actively listen to this podcast are
48
:people that are very interested in
learning and growing in the Word.
49
:So my message to you is, and this was a
very clear message from my pastor, all the
50
:time, but it finally hit me, like I said.
51
:It's most recently, like, I was like,
"Oh, this is why it's so much easier."
52
:We need to rightly divide the Word of God.
53
:This was written across thousands of years
by multiple people, which is why people
54
:have doubts about if it's real or not.
55
:We all know this is real.
56
:This is the living Word of God, right?
57
:With that aside, the Bible is written,
in many aspects to Jews at this time
58
:So we can't always take every
single thing word for word.
59
:Some things are not directed to us.
60
:They're directed to the Israelites,
people that, were and are of
61
:Jewish descent mostly were 'cause,
you know, it's at that time.
62
:But anyway, I digress.
63
:But the point is that when you're
reading, you have to really understand
64
:who that book was written to.
65
:Which I feel I have tried to do a better
job lately as I'm doing the Sound Mind
66
:series to let you guys know who is writing
this and to who they were talking to.
67
:that has helped me so much in deciphering
the book itself because if you understand
68
:the story of how Solomon came into
power, then you will understand why he
69
:wrote, Ecclesiastes the way that he did.
70
:Same thing goes with Jude.
71
:You would understand that he is
the half brother of Jesus, that he
72
:was writing to Jews, that he was
writing to people who were believers.
73
:some books are written to
people that were not believers.
74
:Some books were written,
directed, to Gentiles.
75
:And if you don't know what a
Gentile is, I encourage you guys
76
:to find out what those terms mean.
77
:And the only reason I say that
is because it's going to make
78
:everything so much easier.
79
:And to now continue to harp on that
same note, I say all of that to say
80
:that when we are reading Revelation,
we need to understand that it's also
81
:a very different type of scripture.
82
:the context in which John, who wrote
the Book of Revelation, John the
83
:Beloved, it's very important to know
why it was being written, to who If
84
:you know those little backstories, then
everything else is just gonna sink in.
85
:You're gonna be able to
digest that information.
86
:You're gonna be able to retain
that information And it's just
87
:going to be so much better.
88
:and with that, I truly feel
that things will hit you harder.
89
:So there's this one particular section
in Revelation that I was reading that
90
:when I saw it, I was like, "What?
91
:Oh my God."
92
:And I can't remember if it was
chapter one or chapter two now, so
93
:when I get to that part, you guys
will know what I'm talking about.
94
:But I had never heard of that
particular detail in any other of
95
:the books that I have read so far.
96
:and when I saw it, I was like, man,
the Lord really put that in front of
97
:my eyes and opened my spiritual eyes so
that I can take in that little detail.
98
:And again, as always, I had a little
discussion, side conversation with David
99
:about it, and, I don't think that he had
really heard too much about that either.
100
:We looked into it a little bit and what
that could mean, and I'm not gonna divulge
101
:too much because it was an important
detail, and I wanna give it, the credit
102
:that it deserves when we get there.
103
:But again, nonetheless, the more
that you understand, the more
104
:it will hit you to your core.
105
:And the more you grow, and that's the
whole point of why we're doing this.
106
:not only so that you can just
hear a person talk, but so that
107
:you can grow and learn to love
and appreciate the word of God.
108
:So And just so that you guys know,
I have taken many, many notes.
109
:I normally show you my little
notes here in the Bible, but
110
:y'all, this has been intense.
111
:This is introduction, chapter one, two,
three, and three continued, and four.
112
:So there's been a lot of work going
into this and not for anything,
113
:but every detail has something
im- important or something that
114
:we should be paying attention to.
115
:so I wanted to do it justice, and I want
it to, come across as easily for you
116
:as I wish it would have come across as
easily for me the very first time that
117
:I even opened the book of Revelation.
118
:So anyway, going to switch over here to
my Bible, make sure that I have it open
119
:As you can see, I always
have my little notes.
120
:This is the introduction right here.
121
:I did read it.
122
:I went over some things, and I
also jotted other things down.
123
:I have some tabs open as well, for
some information that I want to read.
124
:I'm making so much noise here.
125
:Sorry, y'all.
126
:By the way, I always
have my little cup here.
127
:It says…
128
:I don't know if you can see it.
129
:Maybe it's backwards.
130
:It says, "While trying
to test the Jesus in me."
131
:I thought it's so cute.
132
:Brandy, my best friend, I'm
sure you guys remember from
133
:other episodes, she got me this.
134
:She knows me so well.
135
:Anyway, we're about to start now
136
:So good.
137
:All right The Sound Mind series.
138
:I'm so excited.
139
:This is the Book of Revelation and
we are going to start our summary.
140
:Forgive me if I don't look too much
at the camera, I'm just gonna go over
141
:some of the notes that I have here.
142
:And in summary, it is a
great book of encouragement.
143
:John is the author, the beloved, and
he is the younger brother of James,
144
:John was one of the 12
disciples as well as James.
145
:with that said, like I mentioned, this
is in essence a book of encouragement.
146
:A lot of people are intimidated
by Revelation just because of
147
:the kind of details that it
has, it seems kind of scary.
148
:and while it may sound scary, I don't
really think it is, but I'll get to that.
149
:this is also a scripture
that can be broken down into
150
:categories of literature types.
151
:these are the themes that it contains
here: apocalyptic, which contains
152
:extensive symbolism; eschatology,
that's concerning end time prophecy;
153
:Anyway, this was a thought that I
had earlier right before I started
154
:recording, so what I'm gonna say now.
155
:But according to biblical scholars,
Revelation was most likely, in
156
:parentheses so it's not a fact, but most
likely written between 81 and 96 AD.
157
:And if you obviously know, AD is
After Death of Jesus, which is
158
:at the end of the first century,
when this was most likely written.
159
:Now, from what I have been looking
into, John is one of the youngest
160
:disciples, if not the youngest.
161
:It's believed that he was between
like 16 to early 20s, when Jesus
162
:started the ministry and John joined.
163
:so I just want you guys to
take that in for a second.
164
:He was very, very young.
165
:Just a h- a handful of years later, Jesus
dies and he lives his whole life because
166
:he was the last disciple to pass away.
167
:from what I was looking
up, he was not martyred.
168
:I have even seen, some videos and read
a few things where it says that perhaps,
169
:you know, 'cause obviously we don't know,
one day I pray that we will know, that
170
:John was left as the last one and was
not martyred because this was his task.
171
:Jesus knew that he was going to
leave it up to him to write this
172
:book and to leave this for us.
173
:but when I wrote this down and
I read it before I recorded,
174
:again, it says that, "Biblical
scholars believe that Revelation
175
:was written between 81 and 96 AD."
176
:So if John was in his early 20s,
let's just say 20, and this was
177
:written when it was 96 AD, how old
was he when he received this vision,
178
:from Jesus to then write the book?
179
:He was, he was, like, over 100.
180
:And then just imagine, um, when he was on
the island of Patmos, I believe it was.
181
:let me see.
182
:I- I feel I have it
written here somewhere.
183
:Oh, it's actually verse, one
of the very first verses.
184
:Sorry, y'all.
185
:I just don't wanna say
anything out of turn.
186
:Oh, Lordy Where was it?
187
:I was literally just seeing this
188
:A few moments later
189
:Yes, I was looking at
like verse one or two.
190
:Sorry y'all.
191
:It's on verse nine.
192
:He was on the island of Patmos.
193
:But anyway, the point that I was going
to get to because I couldn't find
194
:that, I don't wanna give you guys wrong
information, essentially John was in his
195
:either very, very, very late 90s, which
I doubt, or early 100s, which is what
196
:I do think, closer to the age he was.
197
:He waited his entire life and then he
finally again had this vision of Jesus
198
:and He was exiled at this time he was
just living a very set-apart life and
199
:he wouldn't bow down to, the, the Roman
emperor, whoever it was at that time.
200
:So obviously had a bunch of consequences.
201
:Thankfully, and he had the opportunity
to write the Book of Revelation.
202
:But again, It's vital that we
understand that because these were
203
:not just words that were, you know,
put into a book and, and left for us.
204
:No, there is weight and
there is, importance
205
:There was a purpose.
206
:and again, this Book of Revelation
is a book of encouragement.
207
:It is for the people who are believers,
that are being persecuted, that are being
208
:or trying to be steered away from the
gospel, that are at risk of falling again
209
:to the enemy and the things of the world.
210
:you'll see that, Jesus has a very
specific message for the churches at
211
:the time, which were real churches.
212
:but again, we have to take everything into
context, like Jude said in the Book of
213
:Jude, we have to contend for our faith.
214
:We have to be firm, we have to
be strong about it, and we have
215
:to definitely just hold the line.
216
:We have to hold the line and the things
that Jesus reveals in the Book of
217
:Revelation from what I know thus far
is only hope and encouragement that
218
:what is coming for us, the believers,
the people who stand firm, is nothing
219
:short of glorious and amazing.
220
:So anyway, to move on I'll put a pin in
that, I don't have too many side notes.
221
:these chapters are actually quite
short, but I am going to read it
222
:in its entirety and then go back
to my notes briefly for you guys.
223
:I digress.
224
:Let's start.
225
:The Book of Revelation, chapter 1
226
:The revelation of Jesus Christ, which
God gave him to show his servants
227
:things which must shortly take place.
228
:And he sent and signified it by his angel
to his servant John, who bore witness to
229
:the word of God, and to the testimony of
Jesus Christ to all things that he saw.
230
:Blessed is he who reads and those
who hear the words of this prophecy,
231
:and keep those things which are
written in it, for the time is near.
232
:John to the seven churches
which are in Asia.
233
:Grace to you and peace from him who is and
who was and who is to come, and from the
234
:seven Spirits who are before his throne,
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful
235
:witness, the firstborn from the dead, and
the ruler over the kings of the earth.
236
:To him who loved us and washed us
from our sins in his own blood,
237
:and has made us kings and priests
to his God and Father, to him be
238
:glory and dominion forever and ever.
239
:Amen.
240
:Behold, he is coming with
clouds, and every eye will see
241
:him, even they who pierced him.
242
:And all the tribes of the earth
will mourn because of him.
243
:Even so, Amen.
244
:These are red letter, the words of Jesus.
245
:"I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End," says
246
:the Lord, "Who is and who was and
who is to come, the Almighty."
247
:I, John, both your brother and
companion in the tribulation and
248
:kingdom and the patience of Jesus
Christ, was on the island that is
249
:called Patmos for the Word of God and
for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
250
:I was in the Spirit and on the Lord's
day, and I heard behind me a loud voice
251
:as of a trumpet, saying, "I am the Alpha
and the Omega, the first and the last.
252
:And what you see, write in a book and
send it to the seven churches which
253
:are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna,
to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis,
254
:to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
255
:I always mess one up.
256
:Then I turned to see the
voice that spoke with me.
257
:And having turned, I saw
seven golden lampstands.
258
:And in the midst of the seven lampstands,
one like the Son of Man, clothed with
259
:a garment down to the feet and girded
about the chest with a golden band.
260
:His head and hair were white
like wool, as white as snow, and
261
:His eyes like a flame of fire.
262
:His feet were like fine brass, as
it refined in a furnace, and His
263
:voice as the sound of many waters.
264
:He had in His right hand seven stars.
265
:Out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged
sword, and His countenance was like
266
:the sun shining in its strength.
267
:And when I saw Him, I
fell at His feet as dead.
268
:But He laid His right hand on me,
saying to me, "Do not be afraid.
269
:I am the First and the Last.
270
:I am He who lives and was dead,
and behold, I am alive forevermore.
271
:Amen.
272
:And I have the keys of Hades and of death.
273
:"Write the things which you have seen, and
the things which are, and the things which
274
:will take place after this: the mystery of
the seven stars which you saw in My right
275
:hand, and the seven golden lampstands.
276
:The seven stars are the angels of the
seven churches, and the seven lampstands
277
:which you saw are the seven churches."
278
:Okay.
279
:Only 20 verses.
280
:20 verses and there was a lot.
281
:I don't know about you guys, but every
time I see those red letters, I just get
282
:like this feeling where I can't mess up.
283
:I can't mess up, and it just, it
just has so much more weight to it.
284
:But anyway, chapter one, I noted this as
John's introduction, and even though it
285
:does have already some assignments that
Jesus gave John, it is an introduction to
286
:what's going to really be said by Jesus
in chapter two and the other chapters.
287
:So verse one says, "The revelation of
Jesus Christ, which God gave Him," capital
288
:H meaning Jesus, "to show His servants."
289
:it goes on a little more, but I put here,
"Given by God to Jesus and then to John."
290
:So very specifically, this was
a message from God to Jesus,
291
:and then where did Jesus go?
292
:Jesus met John on the island
of Patmos so that He can give
293
:him this message directly.
294
:I skipped over to verse three, and I
put here, "Words of this prophecy,"
295
:and I put that in quotes so I believe
it does say that specifically.
296
:Verse three says, "Blessed is
he who reads and those who hear
297
:the words of this prophecy."
298
:I underlined it and I put,
"Confirms this is a prophecy."
299
:So kind of like how in the summary
it says that, there's different,
300
:types of literature, and this is,
this could be a prophetic writing.
301
:No, guys, literally
these words are prophecy.
302
:so I wrote here on my notes verse
three, "Words of this prophecy," this
303
:signifies that it's not just a dream
or a vision, but prophetic words.
304
:And I also put in parentheses,
"And warning of sorts from Jesus."
305
:And I put, "And warning," because I
already read, I, up to chapter four and I
306
:see all the things that Jesus is saying,
so while it's a message to the churches,
307
:it's also kind of a warning in a way.
308
:Verse four I skipped over and let's see,
it says, "John to the seven churches
309
:which are in Asia: Grace to you and
peace from him who is and who was
310
:and who is to come and from the seven
spirits," I underlined from the seven
311
:spirits, "who are before his throne."
312
:so verse four here I put confirms
that this chapter is written to
313
:seven churches in Asia, and also
named Seven Spirits, need more info.
314
:I already know what those are, but I'm
not gonna get too into it because I don't
315
:want to spoil anything until we get there.
316
:verse 7, I skipped over to verse 7.
317
:Actually, pause for a second here in
verse 5, it continues and it says, "And
318
:from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness,
the firstborn from the dead, and the
319
:ruler over the kings of the earth."
320
:And then I put what Jesus is.
321
:Jesus is the ruler of the earth.
322
:And then it continues, "To him who loved
us," him meaning Jesus, "who loved us and
323
:washed us from our sins in his own blood."
324
:Yes, again, he is the
reason why we are saved.
325
:It's because of him that
we, have our salvation now.
326
:So thank you so much, Lord, for that.
327
:And I actually wrote
amen right next to that.
328
:verse 7 here continues, my little notes
say, "Jesus will come back with clouds.
329
:Every person will see."
330
:And I put even dead, example-- Oh, even
dead, example, people who pierced him.
331
:So when I read that, and I'll go
to verse 7 now, I thought, I'm
332
:like, even those who pierced him.
333
:So does that literally mean--
And this is where, like,
334
:Revelation starts getting you.
335
:Does that mean, is it the people that
actually pierced him at the time?
336
:So the people that are already dead
from the time where Jesus was crucified,
337
:are those people also in a way going
to see his coming, where we're all
338
:going to experience this somehow
in wh- whatever realm they're in?
339
:I don't know what to say it, so forgive
me, if I sound a little weird saying that.
340
:but I thought, I was like, "Okay, so
even the ones that pierced him will see."
341
:Or is this-- Remember, 'cause this
was written in a specific time.
342
:or could we take this and make it for
today's time and say, the people that
343
:pierce him now, meaning spiritually,
the people that deny him, the people
344
:that, say, "No, I don't believe in
Jesus," or, "No, Jesus, you know,
345
:was not, did not live and was not
crucified or whatnot," those people.
346
:So you can, you know, decipher what
you want, but those were my immediate
347
:thoughts when I read that, in verse 7.
348
:And it says, "Behold, he is coming with
clouds, and every eye will see him, even
349
:they who pierced him, and all the tribes
of the earth will mourn because of him.
350
:Even so, amen."
351
:So again A lot to think about.
352
:But I don't know.
353
:It's so m- so many things that…
354
:Sorry, guys, my phone keeps going off.
355
:I thought I had it on DND.
356
:Ugh, my bad.
357
:there's just so many things
358
:Let me put on some D&D A few moments later
So there's just so many things, that we
359
:can interpret and we can take from this.
360
:But, moving on.
361
:Now I skip over to verse 11, and it says
here, "Where John was when he got the
362
:vision and what Jesus first said," and
then I put, "On a Sunday, the Lord's day."
363
:So it was on a Sunday, the Lord's day.
364
:and he was on the island of Patmos.
365
:So I'm gonna go ahead and skip over.
366
:verse nine and then through
verse 11 Is where, where he was
367
:and where Jesus speaks to him.
368
:"I, John, both your brother and
companion in the tribulation and
369
:kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ,
was on the island that is called
370
:Patmos for the Word of God and for
the testimony of Jesus Christ."
371
:Verse 10, "I was in the
Spirit on the Lord's day."
372
:So I'm gonna pause there for a second.
373
:So on the Lord's day, on a Sunday, I'm
sure he was in the Spirit all the time,
374
:but he must have been in a moment.
375
:Just imagine, in the island of Patmos,
he was exiled, he, I'm assuming,
376
:didn't really have much going on
for his life other than he was
377
:just trying to stay out of trouble.
378
:and he still found it in him, in this
old age, to be in the Spirit from
379
:when Jesus was crucified in his early
20s all the way to around the 90s AD
380
:when this book was supposedly written,
according to biblical scholars.
381
:Imagine how he was still in the
Spirit after all those years.
382
:He still managed to hold firm and
contend for the faith, even at that age.
383
:So I just find that so remarkable, and
it's no wonder that Jesus chose him to
384
:leave this for us and to write this book.
385
:so verse 12, that's where John
turns to see who is speaking, and
386
:he sees seven golden lampstands.
387
:And then verse 13 through 16, it
explains what Jesus looked like.
388
:So, let me look at the lampstands here.
389
:Verse 12, "Then I turned to see
the voice that spoke with me.
390
:And having turned, I saw
seven golden lampstands.
391
:And in the midst of the seven lampstands,
one like the Son of Man, clothed with
392
:a garment down to the feet and girded
about the chest with a golden band."
393
:Quick pause.
394
:I could only imagine that gold and
a band of like that caliber was used
395
:only for kings and for high priests,
so I'm sure that if anyone at that
396
:time saw him, he would've been like…
397
:Or they, excuse me, they would've
been like, "Wow, this is a, a
398
:person who's, who's up there," if
they didn't know who Jesus was.
399
:But everyone knew who Jesus was.
400
:Anyway, I digress.
401
:now going to verse 17, John's
reaction to seeing Jesus.
402
:"And when I saw Him, I
fell at His feet as dead.
403
:But He laid his right hand on me,
saying to me, 'Do not be afraid.
404
:I am the First and the Last.'"
405
:Guys, I thought this was so important.
406
:do not be afraid.
407
:Because it reminded me of, I think
Matthew:
408
:where Jesus also says, "Do not
be afraid, I'll be with you," un-
409
:basically until the end of time.
410
:I'm gonna read it now, 'cause
I don't wanna s- you know, mess
411
:up scripture, by any means.
412
:But when I read that the first
time, that's what it reminded me of.
413
:again, going back to what John was
going through, at an old age, seeing
414
:that it was Jesus, he had such an
incredible reaction he almost fainted.
415
:Just imagine all those years what he
went through, finally seeing Jesus again.
416
:He was probably like, "Oh,
finally, it's my time."
417
:Um, but anyway, let me look here really
fast for that Matthew:
418
:I want to share that with you guys
419
:So yeah, Matthew 28:20 and ch-
ch- ch- it says, "Teaching them
420
:to observe all things that I have
commanded you: and lo, I am with you
421
:always even to the end of the age.
422
:Amen."
423
:So here again it says, chapter one,
verse 17 in Revelation, "And when I
424
:saw him, I fell at his feet as dead.
425
:But he laid his right hand on me,
saying to me, 'Do not be afraid.
426
:I am the first and the last.'"
427
:Um, and it continues on 18, "I
am He who lives and was dead, and
428
:behold, I am alive forevermore.
429
:Amen."
430
:And it reminded me of Matthew
:
431
:forever and He never left us.
432
:He is always with us.
433
:Like, there's no reason
for us to be afraid.
434
:And the same thing goes
for the Book of Revelation.
435
:There's nothing to be afraid about.
436
:There's only hope to hold
out for and to look out for.
437
:I'm glad that we're at this point
because actually in chapter one
438
:verse 19 is the point of this
entire book is Jesus's instructions
439
:to John and He's very specific.
440
:and then again, I put here in my opinion
Jesus confirms that it's prophetic.
441
:So moving on to verse 19.
442
:He says specifically to John, "Write the
things which you have seen," mind you the
443
:visions, not the things of his life, the
visions that Jesus is going to give him.
444
:"Write the things that you have seen
and the things which are, and the things
445
:which will take place after this."
446
:So it's very clear that the purpose
of Jesus coming and, and saying
447
:to John, "Hey, I need you to do
this," because He needs him to write
448
:these things to leave it for us.
449
:Why would Jesus ask anyone to do that?
450
:The same reason why Jude wrote a letter to
the Israelites because it was a warning.
451
:It was a final, a final chance to
come to the realization that, hey,
452
:Stand firm for the gospel.
453
:This is what is going to happen,
If you overcome, this is what's
454
:going to be waiting for you.
455
:and we continue with verse 20, "The
mystery," and I have mystery circled.
456
:"The mystery of the seven stars
which you saw in my right hand
457
:and the seven golden lamp stands."
458
:So the mystery of what he was holding in
his, right hand, which were seven stars,
459
:and then the seven golden lamp stands.
460
:And it says with a colon, it
says, "The seven stars are the
461
:angels of the seven churches."
462
:So the lamp stands essentially have an
angel for every church that he is going
463
:to talk about, in the coming chapters.
464
:And then it says, "And the
seven lamp stands which you
465
:saw are the seven churches."
466
:So it's the angels of the seven
churches, and it's the lamp stands
467
:which signify the churches themselves.
468
:So gonna wrap it up right there.
469
:I really want to continue
because it starts getting into
470
:the talk of the churches, and
it's a lot, and it's so good.
471
:And above all, it's still merciful.
472
:No matter what happens, even though there
is an element of warning, it is still
473
:so merciful, and it's so beautiful to
see that even after all the horrible and
474
:degrading things that humanity has done,
In so many, so many thousands of years
475
:and even to this day, God and Jesus still
love us, and they continue to warn us, and
476
:they have sealed us with the Holy Spirit.
477
:Like, when we are saved, we have the Holy
Spirit, and that is the, the one true
478
:gift that nudges us continuously and is
saying to us, "Hey, you need to do better.
479
:Hey, you just sinned again.
480
:You better repent from
that," 'cause we never know.
481
:He's coming like a thief.
482
:He says it himself in the coming
chapters, He's coming like
483
:a thief, and you won't know.
484
:So it's important for us to fix our
posture and repent and also just be
485
:unapologetic about speaking of Christ.
486
:Like, the last thing we want is to
cover ourselves in shame of any sort
487
:that we are Christian, that we love
God, and we believe in Jesus and His
488
:sacrifice, because any sort of, of
that feeling that we have, He knows.
489
:He knows, and we will have
to answer for that one day.
490
:So anyway, I'm gonna park it here, and we
will continue next week with chapter two.
491
:please read for yourselves.
492
:There is a lot, but again,
it's a book of encouragement.
493
:It's a book of hope, and I want nothing
more than you guys to take only good
494
:things from these things that Jesus left
for us, um, because He loved us so much
495
:that He gave His life for us, and He
still, after everything He endured, He
496
:left us this vision with John that was
very clear in telling us that there's
497
:a place set out for you and for me.
498
:All we have to do is hold fast
and hold strong for the gospel,
499
:and we will get a reward.
500
:But anyway, I love you guys.
501
:Thank you so much for joining me.
502
:Thank you for sticking along through
this lengthy, episode, and I hope to
503
:see you guys here again next week.
504
:Love y'all.
505
:God bless you, and take care
