Shownotes
On this episode of TCS, on the heels of the 2018 Olympics Opening Ceremony, we're joined by 3 time Canadian Paralympian Amy Burk to take us behind the scenes at the world's largest sporting events.
She'll fill us in on just how these athletes all get their clothes on time and why you never see anyone in the parade of nations with clothes that are way too big, what athletes are doing around the Olympic Village before the Games kick off, how you're treated like a common criminal every time you try to enter the Athlete's Village, how organizers get 6,000 people ready to march in to a stadium in the correct order while 80,000 people watch on and tons more fun behind the scenes facts most of us had no idea about.
Amy also tells us a few fun stories about the time she needed to leave the Opening Ceremony from the stadium floor to go to the bathroom and the time she ended up with 20 McDonald's Hamburgers in her backpack that she was able to hand out to other Team Canada members during the event.
All this as well s some thoughts on this morning's ceremony in Korea and some of the upcoming events for our Canadian athletes.
It's a fun show with great insights from someone who has been there and done that.
