So here’s the question I want to lay on the table at the very beginning, and I don’t want you to answer it too fast.
If you stood before the King today, would you be welcomed as a guest… or exposed as unprepared?
And what if the difference isn’t what you’ve done—but what you’re wearing.
Now I know how that sounds.
But that’s exactly where Jesus takes us in Matthew 22, because this parable starts as a celebration and ends like a warning label.
It begins with a wedding, an invitation, a table set, and everything prepared.
Jesus says, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.”
That tells us right away God isn’t trying to sell us on religion, He’s inviting us into relationship.
A wedding isn’t a business deal, it’s covenant, union, and joy.
And notice something else.
The feast is not in question, the son is not in question, and the King’s generosity is not in question.
The only question in the parable is the guest’s response.
