Shownotes

Chelsea Bear is a content creator and disability advocate. She was a publicist for eight years while sharing her experience living with cerebral palsy on social media. Her content promoting disability representation and inclusion gained traction and now, it's her full-time job.

Chelsea uses her platform to cultivate awareness and remove stigmas through education. People have been taught to look away or avoid asking questions when encountering disabled people, but Chelsea encourages dialog for better understanding.

She feels it's essential that parents talk about disabilities with their children. A disability doesn't have to be scary—it's part of life. Chelsea estimates that due to aging, possible illnesses, or unexpected accidents, many people may become disabled in their lives.

In this week’s episode, you’ll learn why Chelsea became a disability advocate, how she gained 315,000 Instagram followers, and the importance of normalizing the conversation around disabilities.
