Keith Dietrich is a husband, father, grandfather, and nonprofit leader whose career has included 20 years with Father Flanagan’s Boys Town and leadership with The Gathering Inn. At 65, Keith brings something particularly valuable to this conversation: hindsight.
He and his wife Jennifer have a blended family of six children, now ages 20–33, and grandchildren entering the picture. Looking back at the years when career, marriage, and raising children were all competing for attention, Keith has some very specific things he wishes he had understood earlier.
His message to dads in their 40s is simple: slow down. Not everything at work is a crisis. Pay attention to your wife and kids. It goes much faster than you think.
