Shownotes

This week’s episode is a little different than usual because I feel that I need to use my platform to share thoughts about what is going on right now.

Like most people, I have been watching as protests against George Floyd’s murder, police brutality, and racism have occurred all over the country and the world. I have been examining my own role in perpetuating America’s racist systems and looking within myself. And I have been thinking about how everyone feels like they need to make a statement about where they stand.

In this solo episode I am talking a bit about my journey to realizing that I have benefitted from the institutional and structural racism that is so common in our country. I talk about some of my experiences, what I’m learning now, and why I think we need to be very intentional and reflective as we educate ourselves about these issues and start to speak up.
