In this release, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre receives a new and daunting mission: Pope Pius XII appoints him Apostolic Delegate for French-speaking Africa. Now, while still shepherding Dakar, he must represent the Holy See across dozens of missionary territories, from Morocco and Senegal to Madagascar and Réunion. Chapter 9 shows him encouraging bishops, creating new dioceses, helping choose future pastors, raising funds, bringing in religious congregations, and strengthening the Church’s presence across a rapidly changing Africa. We see his loyalty to Rome, his practical genius, his calm authority, and his deep concern that the African Church be truly Catholic, missionary, and rooted in strong native clergy.
