Shownotes

In the Aging Patient: Dispelling Myths podcast series, Prof Raul Cordoba kicks off a series of podcasts that will offer you up-to-date information about hematology in older adults.

For the first interview, he welcomes guest expert Dr Kristina Kirschner to discuss aging and clonal disease. You will learn how clonal hematopoiesis increases with advancing age and how the accumulation of some clonal mutations have been linked with hematological cancers.

Dr Kirschner answers questions - asked by patients - about the definition of aging by hematologists, or the relation of aging and susceptibility to clonal cancers. They also address the mechanisms of epigenetic mutations in aging hematopoietic stem cells and the impact of genes drivers of myeloid malignancies in the elderly population.

Host: Dr Raul Cordoba; Guest: Dr Kristina Kirschner
