“They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble, because I am Israel’s father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.”
How to Pray According to God’s Will pt 1
We’ve been studying how “God’s Word IS God’s Will” these last several days. Bottom line, to know the will of God, you need to know His Word. Amen!
Now, I want to look at this same subject from the perspective of how to pray ACCORDING to God’s Will. Now, if you just take what I just said, you should already realize that, in order to pray according to God’s Will – knowing that God’s Word IS God’s Will – then your lightning fast mind should understand HOW to pray according to God’s Will.
Simply put, you need to pray according to God’s WORD in order to pray according to God’s WILL. Amen!
Seriously, folks. There should not be any problem praying in line with the Word of God because if God’s Word says it – i.e. if God’s Word promises us something, in writing – we should know and understand that it is God’s intended purpose (HIS WILL) for us to HAVE IT!
If we know it is His Will for us to have it (because He wrote it down for us to read and believe), we should be enjoying ALL that He has promised to us and made provision for us, IN HIS WORD!
But the ONLY way you will know what has already been promised to us is IF you are READING and STUDYING His Word! PERIOD! Amen!
Before I pray for ANYTHING, I find the answer for what I want or what I need in the Word. And if I don’t know what God’s will is for something, I find out what the Word has to say about it FIRST. Again, as we have been studying, “God’s Word IS God’s Will.” Amen!
I don’t just pray to be praying. I would be wasting my time trying to pray for something that I do not truly know if it is God’s Will for me to have. I need to know what the Word has to say about the particular situation I’m facing. You need to as well. Amen!
To try and pray, without knowing what the Word says, is usually going to end up as a WISH rather than a prayer. And a wish is just that – a wish! “Oh, I wish was feeling better…” What sounds like a statement of Faith? “Oh, I wish I was better…” or “By HIS Stripes – I’m already healed!” Which sounds better? “Oh, I wish I had the money to pay the light bill…” or “All of my needs are met according to HIS riches in Glory, by Christ Jesus!”
Do you get the picture!
I pray that you are getting this. In fact…
