Excited to have my friend, Sogema Montes, ACSW, on with me today to provide you with helpful tools to navigate the aftermath of the election.

Sogema graduated, with Honors, from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2015 with a BS in Psychology. She then went to work for Behavioral Health Services in Torrance for 3 years as an In-Home Outreach Counselor, connecting low-income families with resources. While working at BHS full-time she was able to obtain her Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern California and completed her degree as an MSW in 2018. Sogema currently works at a non-profit agency in Long Beach serving victims of crime as a Mental Health counselor, focused in trauma. Sogema specializes in working with human trafficking victims that have been referred through LBPD. Sogema has 3 children, 1 in college, 1 in middle school and 1 who is a freshman in HS. She has been married for 20 yrs and just recently purchased a home. Sogema has worked hard and has been diligent about obtaining her education. Her passion is in helping her community and advocating for those that do not have a voice. Sogema has just completed her supervision hours as an Associate Clinical Social Worker and will be studying for her licensing exam in the near future.
