Jennifer Bosma is enthusiastic about life and embraces the joy in each day. She has been married for 36 years and has three grown daughters and three granddaughters. Enjoying quality family time is a passion for her.

Jennifer serves in women’s ministry and is a consultant at her local pregnancy center. She has authored three award-winning Christian children’s books: God is Three in One, I Know the Plans, and The Baby Garden, and she hosts a weekly podcast. Her Front Parking Spot Podcast reaches women worldwide, mentoring them in Christian principles and encouragement for busy moms. It is ranked in the top 100 Christian faith-based podcasts.

She retired as an Elementary Education teacher after 23 years and has been known as “Mrs. Bosma” to over 500 students. Engaging author visits with her books bring her back into the classroom and are a great way to keep children passionate about writing, scripture, and Jesus’ plans for them.

It's a great pleasure to connect with you.

For those listening, what part of the world are you in today?

I am in Tomb Beach, Florida.

It's in the Jacksonville area of the United States.

What age do you believe you are when you think of who you are today?

I would believe I'm maybe 40, but I'm really not.

Well, let's go with that though, right?

Yeah.

What do you think is responsible for you not believing the numerical age that you would have acquired over the years, right, that you would have been?

You know, because there's so much more I have to do with sharing Jesus to everyone I meet.

And I believe the Lord has me living a long life because it says that in Psalm 91, that we can be blessed with a long life.

And I believe that I've got a lot of years left here on this planet to share the gospel and with women and children and families around the world.

How did you meet Jesus?

I met Jesus when I was 14 years old at a Billy Graham crusade.

Have you heard of Billy Graham?

Who hasn't?

I know.

Yes, I was 14 and I was raised in a Catholic home.

And my dad was a convert to Catholicism.

And he was a musician at a local little Bible town like place and Billy Graham was coming for a crusade and he was playing some music and we got front row seats.

And my brother and I, I was 14, my brother was 19.

And I had never heard anything like Billy Graham, how we take how a relationship, a relationship with Jesus is different than religion.

So I quickly understood that I wanted a relationship with Jesus instead of all the rules and regulations that man puts on.

And I realized that I needed him as my personal savior.

And that's where it happened.

What state was that in?

It was in Florida, Boca Raton, Florida.

What would you consider a tumultuous time in your life where your relationship with Jesus didn't feel as strong as it does today?

Oh, that's a great question.

I think when I was in a very tumultuous time in my life was when my brother almost passed away from nephrotic syndrome, which is a kidney disease, had to have part of his removed.

We were very much challenged in our faith about that God could heal him.

And then he came down with cancer from the treatments from what he had.

But long story short, that was when he was about 32 years old.

And right now he's 65.

And, you know, we really had to kind of buckle into the healing scriptures that the Lord promised us.

And we saw miracle after miracle with Jesus during that time.

It was pretty beautiful.

And you just really had to focus on the word and what Jesus' promises were when you were faced with a dark time in your life.

So I've seen his power straight up and firsthand.

So God is a God of miracles, and he is in the same business as he was back in the day raising people, Lazarus from the dead.

He's the same God.

He's the same God with David and Goliath.

He's the same God.

He's not changed.

He is omnipresent.

And he is the same God as of Bible days and now.

Visually, I'm seeing you as a young girl, then you in college.

And of course, the latter half where you're supporting your brother.

Did you get married?

Yes, I have been married for almost 37 years.

I was married.

I was married at 22 years old, and I have three grown daughters.

And two of them are married.

One of them is still, you know, searching for her husband.

And that will happen.

And I'm going to be having five granddaughters by the end of the summer.

So we're all girls all the time.

Following Jesus as well, hasn't it?

Oh, you know, I work in a crisis pregnancy center as well, when women are faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

And they're, you know, trying to figure out what to do with their life.

And I tell them that God has a plan for every child he creates.

And I tell them this, I tell them, a lot of them don't know Jesus.

And a lot of them are just like, desperately seeking money for whatever bills they have.

And they're concerned about that.

But I tell them this, if I could give you $10 million, that will satisfy a little bit, but it won't satisfy everything.

It will just leave you empty.

For a short period of time, you may think you're all good, but money and fame and homes and all that will fade.

But if I can give you Jesus, that is the only thing that will last the test of time, more than any kind of money you could ever receive.

And if you listen into some testimonies of people around the world that have it all, and then they lose it, you know, money will come and they'll go.

But your relationship with Jesus is the only thing that can give you the true contentment that human beings are seeking for.

Where did the name come from?

That name comes from Ephesians 3.20, that God wants to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can desire or imagine.

And way back when, when my girls were little, I was taking them, I had three little girls under the age of five, we were going to a little activity, like a theme park kind of for kids.

And all the people were going to the back part of the parking lot.

And there was no signs or anything.

But I decided to take a chance and look in the front row.

And there wasn't one spot, but two spots available.

And I remember when I was unloading my children, and I thought, you know, this is what God wants in our life.

He wants us to go for the front parking spot in life, because he has more than we can even imagine.

So it not only is it a literal parking spot that I actually find them probably eight times out of 10, when I'm looking for them, it's more of a biblical promise for our life application, that God has so much more for us than we can even imagine.

And we need to trust him and take his leading and go with what he gives us in our heart to do and to try and to not like sell him short.

Because I think people make we kind of limit ourselves to the potential that God has a huge potential for us, but we limit ourselves to what he has really planned.

So that's where the name comes from.

Do you primarily speak with women or men on the podcast?

Mostly women, my podcast is reaching millions of women worldwide.

It's a really strong Christian podcast for women growing in their faith, and kind of just becoming just reflecting Jesus in their homes in this world that we have today, where a lot of that is fleeting.

And we just want to have our homes and our moms and our kids grounded in scripture, so that they can withstand and be strong in this day when their faith is tested.

How regularly are you releasing episodes?

Every Tuesday, they get released.

And so I do one a week.

Yeah, they're about 20 to 30 minutes.

And there's so many different topics, but it really helps women to stay grounded in their faith, and to grow in their faith with Jesus at the helm of everything they do.

Do you believe God inspired the name of the podcast?

Oh, yes.

From parking spot, you know, technically, if you, a lot of podcast coaches will say, you need to make it more like Christian faith for women or something more simplified.

It does have an element of mystery.

But from parking spot, when you understand when you unpack the Ephesians 320 motto in it, it is completely there's no other name that I could have for it.

It's completely suitable for what we do with women around the world.

So your husband, tell me about his space of mind in terms of how he's approaching what you do.

And of course, Jesus.

He is 100% supportive of all my children's books, my Christian children's books, and has been very much an advocate for me to press on when things are hard.

And even like, you know what it's like when you first learn how to podcast, I've been doing it for two years now.

But it's a big learning curve.

And he's very, he is very much has agree with me.

And he's in a small group from our church here with a bunch of men, and he leads other men about how to how to be stand firm and act like a man.

And it's beautiful.

And under the teaching of Joby Martin at our church 1122 here in Jacksonville, it is a great place for a man to grow and lead their families.

And he's a dad of daughters.

So it's really important that he taught our girls what to look for in their husband.

So I mean, it's a modeling every day that he is in, because how he is, is what our daughters will be drawn to.

And so far, two of them are married, and they have chosen very well.

And they even my son in law's love Jesus.

And like we like to say, real men love Jesus.

And he has another shirt that says saved, not soft.

So I love that.

All right, five years from today, you're listening to this conversation, you would have heard the evolution of Jennifer, where from Billy Graham, to Michigan, to being a teacher, to working at the at the what was the name of the place that you worked at you currently work at now?

Yes, I work at a local pregnancy center, First Coast Women's Services.

It's just and I worked in Georgia at First Care Women's Clinic.

And they're all Christian based, prayerful, wonderful, just wonderful resources for women to go to and get all kinds of things from materialistic things like from diapers and wipes and formula to clothing, to actual parental support and help and, and education.

So we are there to for the advocacy of mama so we can help them grow financially, spiritually, and emotionally.

Even as a podcaster, right, the improvement of your capacity to speak fluently, you would have heard all of that when you listen to this five years from today, what's a message you'd leave for future you?

You know, to, to live every day and to draw every day closer to Jesus, so you can hear what he has you do, because when we never stop learning, he we never stop growing, he always and to be and let it know that it's fluid, like, we don't have to be stuck in our ways, he can reinvent us and give us a new idea and not be afraid to take new leaps of faith with him leading the charge.

You know, I just like to encourage your listeners to have a growth mindset to not be stuck in your fixed mindset.

And just know that with Jesus and Ephesians 320 and the front parking spot that he is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than you can desire or imagine.
