A New Tanya class By Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz “Hashem Loves Us & Everything In Our Life is Great” Tanya Igeret Hakodesh Chapter 22 If we have physical & material struggles the only one that you turn to are Prophets not Torah Scholars. Torah Scholars you turn to to help you to understand Torah. If you believe a certain Torah Scholar is a prophet than sure you can reach out to them. The reason why we consider reaching out for help in our struggles as our self love blinds us from seeing & remembering that G-D runs the world & these struggles are directly from Hashem as the verse in proverbs chapter 3 verse 12 states clearly that those that Hashem loves he rebukes. Hashem loves us & gives us the best from a place of Will & joy unlike the nations of the world that Hashem gives for them to survive so it’s in appropriate to look elsewhere to intercede with the love that Hashem is giving us on the contrary we should accept what ever Hashem gives with pure love. How should we view struggles & challenges? To look for areas in our life that need refinement & view the struggles as a signal from hashem that it’s time to refine those areas & actually thank Hashem for the loving & friendly reminder. When we actually accept our struggles with love hashem will send us pure & revealed goodness & all the judgments will fade away. In the spirit of self refinement the Alter Rebbe approaches 2 more issues. 1. On the importance of prayer to pray sincerely as sincere prayer has the ability to bring about forgiveness as forgiveness is above intellect as intellect demands retribution & since brings about true forgiveness. 2. To have true love for one another & not be judgmental of anyone & on the contrary to be humbled of spirit towards others. To realize that we are one & not gossip as that as severe of a sin as idolatry, forbidden relationships & bloodshed. The Alter Rebbe cautions us besides not speaking negative about others not even to think negatively & on the contrary to think positive of others as thought is more powerful than speech.
