1) REMEMBER: JOB’S FRIENDS SHARE TRUTHS BUT WITH THE WRONG ASSUMPTIONS! Now Job takes a poor theological turn. He cries out… “You.” When we become distant from the right perspective, it leads us further and further away because of our own imaginations. Consider a straight line to a target. Go off 5 degrees, and the end result is REALLY far off. Job was not a target. 2) I hate my life. Leave me alone. This sounds like about 50% of the people I know when things are going wayward. Let me set this up with a brilliant illustration: One Sunday morning, a mother went in to wake her son and tell him it was time to get ready for church, to which he replied, “I’m not going.” “Why not?” she asked. “I’ll give you two good reasons,” he said. “One, they don’t like me, and two, I don’t like them.” His mother replied, “I’ll give you two good reasons why you should go to church. One, you’re 54 years old, and two, you’re the pastor!” 3) When we don't know what's going on, we have to stop inserting our imagination into why God is allowing what He's allowing. It's just foolishness that we do it.
