Today we're gonna be talking about the Walmart Creator Program.

Speaker:

So yes, you heard that right about a week ago, Walmart announced that

Speaker:

they're launching their own content creator program and platform, and

Speaker:

here's the whole low down on what you need to do to apply when it

Speaker:

launches, and basically what it's all.

Speaker:

So if you haven't noticed a trend already, a lot of the big major players, whether

Speaker:

it's TikTok, it's Amazon, it's Walmart, A lot of these big brands and these big

Speaker:

retailers are all launching their own crater programs, and they really are

Speaker:

recognizing the importance of content craters and the contributions that they

Speaker:

make, and in an effort to influence people to buy different products.

Speaker:

so Walmart.

Speaker:

Announced that they're launching their program.

Speaker:

Right now it is in beta, and what it does is it allows content

Speaker:

creators to make commissions without a limit on Walmart products.

Speaker:

So basically you're gonna share a link to a Walmart product

Speaker:

on any social media platform

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

the platform is also going to provide performance data as well as product

Speaker:

recommendations that are based on people's interest, then content creators

Speaker:

can apply for the beta access ahead of the holiday season walmart officially

Speaker:

plans to launch their Walmart content creator program in 2023, but you can

Speaker:

apply for it now, and I would suggest that you do that because you wanna be

Speaker:

the first to get in and the sooner you get in, the sooner you can start setting

Speaker:

everything up and planning out your links and just taking advantage of it.

Speaker:

The Chief Marketing Officer at Walmart.

Speaker:

William White stated in quotes, We know our customers are inspired by

Speaker:

the content and stories they see from their favorite influencers

Speaker:

and their social feeds every day.

Speaker:

This next step in our strategy will help feel inspiration for our

Speaker:

customers by connecting their favorite creators directly with our brands

Speaker:

and the brands they love at Walmart.

Speaker:

So this is really, really exciting.

Speaker:

When you think about it, you look at all the different platforms across the board.

Speaker:

Walmart is not the only one that's expanding, their platform to

Speaker:

announce different partnerships.

Speaker:

Even Snapchat recently just partnered with a Halloween costume brand disguise

Speaker:

last week, and what that does is it allows users to try on costumes using

Speaker:

AR filters within the Snapchat app, which I think that's really cool.

Speaker:

The other thing that's happened is Google has expanded its shopping

Speaker:

functionalities and it's released a 3D sneaker tool with personalized

Speaker:

features such as an outfit curator.

Speaker:

As we go into 2023, we're gonna see a lot of exciting announcements and.

Speaker:

I think Walmart is one of those.

Speaker:

I mean, a lot of people shop at Walmart.

Speaker:

It's affordable.

Speaker:

They have basically everything you need.

Speaker:

They have groceries, they have electronics, they have clothes, they have

Speaker:

personal beauty items, home appliances, kitchen, home decor, everything.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

And it's reasonably priced.

Speaker:

now what we're going to do is we're gonna talk about.

Speaker:

How you apply, what you have to do and what you have to fill out.

Speaker:

So in order to apply, to be considered to become a Walmart crater, you're gonna

Speaker:

go to the website, walmart crater.com.

Speaker:

I'm gonna link it in the show notes for you guys, and you're

Speaker:

going to apply to be a Walmart.

Speaker:

creator So this is like a beta launch for them and obviously

Speaker:

they're gonna be perfecting it.

Speaker:

They're gonna test different features out.

Speaker:

Then what it's gonna ask you to do is it's gonna ask you to.

Speaker:

share your social media channels.

Speaker:

So you wanna share the ones that have the most amount of followers

Speaker:

and engagement, and it's gonna ask you to put in a couple of them.

Speaker:

So you're gonna put in your Instagram, you're gonna put in Facebook,

Speaker:

you're gonna put in Twitter, and then it's going to ask you to pick

Speaker:

the categories that you want to.

Speaker:

In terms of being an Amazon influencer, So for me, I picked, five categories.

Speaker:

I picked fashion, lifestyle, marketing, home decor, and electronics.

Speaker:

So I think those are great because for fashion, you know, I can promote clothes

Speaker:

or shoes, accessories, things like that.

Speaker:

For lifestyle, it can be.

Speaker:

your day to day items, like what are you drinking your, your coffee in

Speaker:

and what are you, you know, using when you go outside and in your car?

Speaker:

marketing, because I am a marketing strategist, of course that makes sense.

Speaker:

Home decor because I am in a little bit into home decor as well and

Speaker:

you know, moved a few months ago.

Speaker:

So decorating is always fun and I am a tech geek, so electronics

Speaker:

for sure, because electronics are something that people.

Speaker:

Spend a lot of money on, and sometimes electronics are also something

Speaker:

that's necessary that they need.

Speaker:

So for example, I'm podcasting right now and I'm using the

Speaker:

Sure MB seven microphone.

Speaker:

And I need a microphone to podcast me.

Speaker:

Don't have to have one, but you know, if you wanna produce a high quality show,

Speaker:

it makes sense to have a microphone.

Speaker:

Okay, so I have applied and they're gonna notify people, in

Speaker:

a few weeks when they're ready.

Basically, once you apply, it says, Thanks for applying to the Walmart

Speaker:

creator beta, where it's excited to bring this platform to life, but it wouldn't

Speaker:

be possible without creators like you.

Speaker:

We will be in touch with you regarding next steps for your application.

Speaker:

Thank you for submitting your response.

Speaker:

And then basically you're gonna wait and you're gonna see, but in the meantime,

Speaker:

what you can do is they do have some tips.

Speaker:

And these tips are going to tell you how you can create content, how

Speaker:

you can get started, and couple of the things that they're sharing.

Speaker:

by the way, this is really cool too.

Speaker:

They have already set up.

Speaker:

Channel on TikTok, it's called Walmart Craters.

Speaker:

So you guys can check that out as well and follow that and you can,

Speaker:

see what they're posting about.

Speaker:

And one of the things that's really important is finding your niche right.

Speaker:

Figure out what it is that you're passionate about, what you're excited

Speaker:

to talk about with your audience.

Speaker:

And you know, whether it's, like I said, fashion, right?

Speaker:

Could be do it yourself project, or Maybe cooking whatever it happens to be,

Speaker:

but find a couple of niches and that, I would say that when you're creating

Speaker:

content, you want to group them into a niche because it could be a niche all

Speaker:

about, cooking at home for the holidays, and I think that would be a great idea.

Speaker:

For a content creator to create content on.

Speaker:

And then the other thing is you want to obviously continue to build

Speaker:

your audience and your community.

Speaker:

So if you are promoting yourself on social media, you want to build

Speaker:

that community and you want to grow that audience and you wanna get

Speaker:

them to engage with your content.

Speaker:

The other thing that you wanna do is you wanna plan ahead and you want to

Speaker:

brainstorm ideas for your content and group them into a content calendar.

Speaker:

You can put that into an Excel document in Google Sheets, or you can put that

Speaker:

in an award document if you want.

Speaker:

But it makes sense to plan ahead and say, Okay, in the month of

Speaker:

January, if I'm gonna be promoting content and I'm gonna be a Walmart

Speaker:

creator, what am I going to promote?

Speaker:

And what are some themes coming up, For example, in February's Valentine's Day?

Speaker:

So maybe you can create content.

Speaker:

Around Valentine's Day.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

So think of it in terms of that, because when you start to group and bucket

Speaker:

into holidays, into upcoming, things that are happening, it makes sense.

Speaker:

For example, there's a lot of content creators right now that are monetizing off

Speaker:

of Halloween because people are looking to buy Halloween costumes, Halloween

Speaker:

decorations for their homes, and if they.

Speaker:

You know, influence someone to buy something and they can get a small

Speaker:

commission out of it, but they have a lot of influence and they can

Speaker:

end up making a lot of commission.

Speaker:

And that's the whole concept of being a content creator.

Speaker:

And then the other thing is that, You really just wanna let your personality

Speaker:

shine, and even if you're not comfortable in front of the camera right now,

Speaker:

now is a great time to turn on that camera to practice and record yourself.

Speaker:

And this way, when you do get approved for the program, you will be ready to rock and

Speaker:

roll because you'll have that confidence.

Speaker:

And just remember, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Speaker:

It just has to be done.

Speaker:

You just have to start.

Speaker:

So I hope that I've inspired you to take action because I am going to

Speaker:

be diving into the Amazon influencer program, and I've also applied

Speaker:

for the Walmart, creator program.

Speaker:

And I think that's a great way to just, you know, have fun and make money

Speaker:

while you're having fun and just create content that people can really relate to.

Speaker:

And also helping people, educating them on products so that they're

Speaker:

spending their hard earned money on the right product for them,

Speaker:

right, the right product for them.

Speaker:

So, For you, content creators.

Speaker:

2023 is going to be such an amazing year.

Speaker:

There's so many things happening.

Speaker:

all the other platforms are doing to compete with each other and you will.

That it's going to be definitely a social media war next year, and

you want a piece of that, then you can start taking advantage.

You can start applying to be a crater for a lot of these different

Speaker:

platforms and you know, you can really make this work and it doesn't matter.

Speaker:

If you've never done this before, you don't have experience.

Speaker:

But if you have the passion for it and you have the ability the willingness,

Speaker:

I guess to, to go on camera or even not necessarily on camera, just to take

Speaker:

photos of you and of items and promote them either way, I think it's a great,

Speaker:

great, great avenue to just dive into.

Speaker:

And see if it's something for you.

Speaker:

And if it's not, it's okay.

Speaker:

You can move on to something else.

Speaker:

But definitely we are living in a creator economy, so go create that

Speaker:

content, whether it's for your blog.

Speaker:

Whether it is for your podcast, whether it's for your YouTube channel, whether

Speaker:

it's for your TikTok channel, whether it's for Instagram reels, but take massive

Speaker:

action, Go do something great and set yourself up to have an amazing 2023.

Speaker:
