Shownotes

The episode delves into the intriguing story of Abraham as he navigates a severe famine, illustrating how God can turn challenging circumstances into blessings. Dr. David Spoon emphasizes that even when we make mistakes or act out of fear, God's grace remains steadfast, and He often uses our trials to bring about unexpected rewards. The narrative highlights Abraham's deceptive actions regarding his wife Sarah, and how, despite this, God protects him and ultimately blesses him abundantly. Spoon encourages listeners to recognize that God’s blessings are not contingent upon our perfection but are a reflection of His character and love. As the episode unfolds, listeners are reminded of the importance of faith and trust in God's plan, even amidst life's uncertainties.

David Spoon dives deep into the biblical narrative in Genesis, particularly focusing on the story of Abraham during a severe famine. The discussion elucidates how Abraham's decision to go to Egypt in search of sustenance not only reflects human instinct in times of crisis but also sets the stage for God's providential care. Spoon emphasizes that, despite Abraham's dubious choice to deceive Pharaoh by claiming Sarah as his sister, God remains steadfast in His promise to bless Abraham. This interplay of human frailty and divine faithfulness serves as a powerful reminder that even amidst our mistakes, God's grace abounds. Abraham's journey illustrates the notion that God can turn adverse circumstances, such as famine, into blessings, showcasing His sovereign ability to provide for those who trust in Him. As Spoon explores these themes, he encourages listeners to reflect on their own lives, recognizing that God's love and support persist even when they falter.

Takeaways:

  • Abraham's journey to Egypt highlights how God can use difficult circumstances to bless His people.
  • Despite Abraham's deception, God remained faithful, showing that His promises are unwavering.
  • We should understand that our mistakes do not prevent God from blessing us abundantly.
  • The story illustrates the importance of faith, even when we act imperfectly before God.
  • God's grace is not based on our performance, but rather on His love and mercy.
  • Prayer is a powerful tool, and God knows our needs even before we ask.

Transcripts

David Spoon:

And now for something completely different.

David Spoon:

Here's what's coming up this hour on today's experience.

David Spoon:

It's marvelous, monumental, most fascinating, massively mind bending Monday as we join our hearts and minds as one, drawing closer to the king of kings and glorifying his name.

David Spoon:

We are going to do over.

David Spoon:

We've got to do a Timmy do over because we talked about it last week but never got to teach from it.

David Spoon:

Timmy do over.

David Spoon:

Back into Genesis, picking it up in chapter 12.

David Spoon:

We start with verse 10 which states there was a severe famine in the land in chapter 12, verse 10 of Genesis.

David Spoon:

So Abraham went down to Egypt to wait it out.

David Spoon:

There was no food and Abraham figured, you know, best place to hang out is going to be down in Egypt because they'll have more food since there is no food around here.

David Spoon:

Turns out that this was actually from the Lord, the famine.

David Spoon:

I talked about this last week, but I didn't get into it and I'm getting into it this week.

David Spoon:

The famine was used by God to bless Abraham.

:

Wow.

David Spoon:

And they're traveling, moving along.

David Spoon:

Abraham tells Sarah, hey, you're extremely beautiful woman and they're going to see you and say, hey, let's kill this guy and take the gal.

David Spoon:

But instead, here's my plan.

David Spoon:

I want you to tell them you're my sister.

David Spoon:

To be straightforward about it.

David Spoon:

Genesis 20 shows that they are in fact brother and sister, only half brother and sister.

David Spoon:

So that said, Abraham's approach still was one of deception.

David Spoon:

But in verse 17, it says, the Lord sent a terrible plague upon Pharaoh and his household because of Sarah, Abram's wife.

David Spoon:

Wife.

David Spoon:

God has a standard that will not be changed when his children are involved.

David Spoon:

Even when they mess up, God will.

:

Protect them and judge those who come after them.

David Spoon:

Pharaoh had no right to approach or try to claim Sarah because Sarah was not only married, but she also was a child of the most high God, just like you.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

David Spoon's life has been an experience.

David Spoon:

My life's Insanities and oy vey, so much more.

David Spoon:

Now, remember, it's not professional radio.

David Spoon:

It's just radio.

David Spoon:

Enlist.

David Spoon:

You think we're making a Yogi Bear Boo Boo?

David Spoon:

We will check with the park ranger of professional radio, our very own Jammin Jacob.

David Spoon:

Jammin Jacob as the park ranger and with no Boo boos, is the David Spoon experience professional radio.

:

No, it is not, David.

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

And that's no Boo Boo.

David Spoon:

Hey, Boo Boo.

David Spoon:

Anyway, bottom line is simply this.

David Spoon:

It's radio.

David Spoon:

So here's the deal.

David Spoon:

If you've got something you want to share, share it.

David Spoon:

If you've got something you want to connect to us with, davidemustincrease.org it's an email and it works live during the show.

David Spoon:

Davidmustincrease.org if you want to text instead, you're welcome to do that.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can call.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob is like knowing that you're spoiled.

David Spoon:

Spiritual radio family has your back.

:

Aw, that's nice.

David Spoon:

It's so sweet.

:

Thank you, David.

:

Happy Monday.

David Spoon:

Happy Monday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

As we will get into Jake's take later on and as will, we'll remind people that Friday is a modified day, which means we will not be airing.

David Spoon:

There's a phenomenal sport events taking place during our time slot.

David Spoon:

And we say amen.

David Spoon:

Go anytime.

David Spoon:

It's for a Texas team.

David Spoon:

We're like, yay, Go.

David Spoon:

Yay, go.

David Spoon:

At least for the most part.

David Spoon:

Say that.

David Spoon:

I'll say it that way.

David Spoon:

Is that what I'm supposed to say?

David Spoon:

Additionally, so look it, we're gonna pray for like Keith Oakley in just a minute.

David Spoon:

But I want you to know why you would reach out to us so you can see what's going on.

David Spoon:

You can touch base with us through that email, through that text, through that phone number for us.

David Spoon:

Myriad of reasons.

David Spoon:

I will not be able to give you the best seasoning for a brisket.

David Spoon:

Sorry, I can't do that.

David Spoon:

I rely on my wife for that.

David Spoon:

She is much wiser than I in those things.

David Spoon:

I can't tell you how to dial the phone for pizza.

David Spoon:

Usually it has to do with phone numbers.

David Spoon:

But the bottom line is simply this.

David Spoon:

If you've got something that you want to share because the Lord has blessed you or given you wisdom or insights, or you've got something that's on your heart and mind, and you know it's a blessing from the Lord, we encourage you to share it because it will reinforce it in your own life.

David Spoon:

It will bless other people who will hear it.

David Spoon:

But most importantly, it will glorify the.

:

Lord, that is number one.

David Spoon:

Especially in lieu of Isaiah 43:7, which.

:

Teaches that we were created for the.

David Spoon:

Glory of God, maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

Like I said, Keith Oakley needs some prayer.

David Spoon:

We're going to pray for him in just a moment.

David Spoon:

And you don't have to even share everything that's going on.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

It's an amazing thing about prayer.

David Spoon:

God knows.

David Spoon:

In fact, the scripture even says before.

:

You call, he will answer.

David Spoon:

He knows what's going on, but he.

:

Still wants faith from his kids because that's the vehicle he's chosen for us to operate with him by.

:

People are like, well, I want proof.

:

Yeah, well, God wants faith.

:

You show him faith, he'll show you the proof.

David Spoon:

Get it.

David Spoon:

Additionally, you could have something you just want to share, something that's on your mind, your heart.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a scripture, something taking place.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

Maybe you're feeling just optimistic.

:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

Maybe you're feeling pessimistic.

David Spoon:

I don't know.

David Spoon:

Got something on your heart and mind.

David Spoon:

Share it.

:

That's great.

David Spoon:

We're not against politics.

David Spoon:

We're just for advancing the kingdom of God and encouraging one another.

David Spoon:

So that's where we kind of draw the line.

David Spoon:

We'll do Bible trivia when we're done with this prayer for Keith, and then we'll see if you have Bible Bible trivia knowledge going on.

David Spoon:

You have that opportunity as well.

David Spoon:

But let's pray for Keith real quickly.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now and we just want to thank you and praise you for everything that's going on in our lives, even the things, Lord, that we don't understand.

David Spoon:

Sometimes, Lord, we go through trials and we think, we know we don't.

David Spoon:

We act like we do.

David Spoon:

And sometimes we profess a faith but.

:

Don'T live strongly in it.

David Spoon:

And so different things take place and we try to order it, we try to structure it instead of trusting.

:

Forgive us for those moments that we do that.

:

And, Lord, we lift up our brother Keith to you.

:

He loves you, Lord, and he's got.

David Spoon:

Some issues that he needs help with.

:

And Lord, I am asking you to bring him the deliverance from his circumstance that he seeks from you.

David Spoon:

I am asking you to pour your.

:

Spirit upon him, to comfort his mind and his heart, to give him confidence.

David Spoon:

And to take out that spirit of.

:

Fear and to replace it with a heart of praise.

:

Put Lord God, a new song in his mouth.

:

Put his feet upon a rock and.

David Spoon:

Let him sing that new song to.

:

You and glorify you.

:

Give him that which he requests.

:

He needs your help in a way that only you can help.

:

Please bring that help to him.

:

He's our brother.

:

We're asking for our family's sake.

:

Dad.

:

Take care of our brother.

:

Take care of Keith Oakley.

:

We pray in Jesus name.

:

Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

Okey dokey artichokey.

David Spoon:

Now, and you think, well, does that work?

:

Yes.

:

Does it work every time?

David Spoon:

No.

David Spoon:

How often does it work?

:

Don't know, don't care.

:

Just keep praying.

:

Cause that's what Jesus told us to do.

David Spoon:

All right, let's see if we get this trivia question.

David Spoon:

You guys should really know this.

David Spoon:

It's out of Matthew:

David Spoon:

Jesus said, you should love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

David Spoon:

This is the first and great commandment.

David Spoon:

And the second one is likened unto it.

David Spoon:

What did he say the second commandment was?

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you are welcome to give us a ringy dinghy.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

ustincrease.org so in Matthew:

David Spoon:

Jesus said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

David Spoon:

This is the first and great commandment.

David Spoon:

And the second is likened unto it.

David Spoon:

And then he said what the second one was.

David Spoon:

What was it?

David Spoon:

That is the question.

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

In the meantime, we will do our DNA.

David Spoon:

DNA is the building blocks that we assert in our show.

David Spoon:

Not the only DNA, but it's our DNA that we use on how to keep things going day by day, whether they're good, bad or indifferent.

David Spoon:

D starts with Draw closer to the Lord.

:

Daily.

David Spoon:

Daily.

David Spoon:

So our new one is every day that has a vowel.

David Spoon:

I like that one.

David Spoon:

It's pretty good though, right?

David Spoon:

You got Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

David Spoon:

Every day that has a vowel.

David Spoon:

Got it right.

David Spoon:

Cool.

David Spoon:

That means spending time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

It doesn't mean that you have to fill the air when you talk to the Lord.

David Spoon:

I do want to say this.

David Spoon:

Sometimes I get before the Lord and I pray.

David Spoon:

And Psalm 46, 10 says, Be still and know that I am God.

David Spoon:

There are times you come before the Lord's presence and you just say, lord, I just want to hear.

David Spoon:

I just want to be here.

David Spoon:

I just want to connect with you.

David Spoon:

I just want to have fellowship with you.

David Spoon:

And you don't have to keep filling the air for God to know that.

:

Or God to answer that prayer.

:

He knows you and he loves you and he chose you and he likes to hang out with you.

:

How about that?

:

Isn't that beautiful?

David Spoon:

Draw closer to the Lord.

:

Especially when you get into James 4, 8.

:

Draw close to God and He will draw close to you.

:

He's just waiting.

:

He's just waiting for us.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.

David Spoon:

I have maintained this for quite some time.

David Spoon:

I think most of you know by now.

David Spoon:

But this is going to get worse.

:

And worse and tougher and tougher.

:

They're already trying in 10 different arenas.

David Spoon:

And have done so, by the way, in Great Britain to make the Bible hate speech.

David Spoon:

You don't like the fact that we believe the Word of God?

David Spoon:

Tough.

David Spoon:

The Word of God is our source.

David Spoon:

The Word of God is our insight from God, our connection, our voice of.

:

Him to us, for us to know Him.

David Spoon:

And if we get to know him and draw closer to him, then he even reveals other things to us.

David Spoon:

But nothing outside of the Word.

David Spoon:

Here is all I'm trying to say.

:

The Word of God is like a rock, a foundation by which we set our feet upon, and it keeps us steady.

:

Never be ashamed of what Jesus had to say.

:

And he is known as one of his titles, the Word of God.

:

Wow.

:

Never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

Jesus said, if you're ashamed of me and my words, I'll be ashamed of.

:

You when I come in.

:

Glory from the Father.

:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or His words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready.

:

To serve.

:

To serve.

David Spoon:

Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

What does that mean?

David Spoon:

Let me think about this.

David Spoon:

Always means always.

:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Be ready.

David Spoon:

Well, that means be ready.

David Spoon:

And then to serve means that you are a vehicle, a vessel that God can use for people's sake, for whatever sake, for the kingdom's sake, whether you're speaking to people, praying for people, whatever the case may be.

David Spoon:

You are a vessel ready to be used by the King of kings, by the Lord of Lords.

David Spoon:

And you are connected and aware.

David Spoon:

And you're not so selfish that all you're doing is thinking about you and your circumstances.

David Spoon:

You're also thinking of others and how they are around you, not just on your side of how you're receiving it, but how other people are doing outside of you.

David Spoon:

And when you do that, the Lord.

:

Takes up your cause on your behalf.

David Spoon:

When you give of yourself to others.

:

The Lord gives of Himself to you.

David Spoon:

That's the way to cover yourself.

David Spoon:

It's so good.

David Spoon:

D Draw closer to the Lord daily and never be ashamed of Jesus or his words.

David Spoon:

A Always be ready to serve.

David Spoon:

Here is, by the way, our trivia question.

David Spoon:

When the lawyer asked Jesus what was the greatest commandment in the law, Jesus said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

David Spoon:

That's the first and great commandment.

David Spoon:

The second is likened unto it.

David Spoon:

Then what did he say?

David Spoon:

What was the rest of it?

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

If you think you know, you got just a couple more minutes to reach out or text.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

This is Genesis chapter 12.

David Spoon:

And Genesis chapter 12.

David Spoon:

We're basically, you know, we're picking it up at verse 10.

David Spoon:

It says this.

David Spoon:

At that time there was a severe famine in the land.

David Spoon:

Did you know that there are times on earth that there are severe famines?

David Spoon:

That is the case.

David Spoon:

That is the truth.

David Spoon:

Sometimes there are different things that take place.

David Spoon:

Because once man introduced sin to the ecosystem, everything fell off balance.

David Spoon:

Even nature itself, According to Romans 8, longs to be redeemed, which means that nature suffered because redemption is now necessary for nature.

David Spoon:

I know people don't understand that, but that doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

God's truth prevails.

David Spoon:

And so nature itself has gone off balance, off shift, not in the right zone, looking for its own redemption.

David Spoon:

Because, see, sin entered the world and from Sin came a lot of disasters.

:

Not just for humanity, but everything beneath humanity as well.

David Spoon:

And there was a famine.

David Spoon:

And let me say something to each and every one of you from a DAP point of view, dynamic application principle, a personalization point of view.

David Spoon:

Did you know that there are times that you to go through different kinds of famine?

David Spoon:

It's not unusual.

David Spoon:

Maybe it's a famine for you're not able to hear.

David Spoon:

You're not able to get into the same zone.

David Spoon:

Maybe your fellowship starved, which happens to a lot of people and they don't even realize it.

David Spoon:

Maybe you're really just hungry for more and you're not getting what you need to get.

David Spoon:

You're not spending enough time with the Lord.

David Spoon:

You're almost done depriving yourself of the.

:

Nutrients that come from God.

David Spoon:

Famines take place.

David Spoon:

But here's what I want you to hear.

:

Listen to this lesson.

:

God uses famines to bring about his purposes.

David Spoon:

So just because you're in a famine scenario doesn't mean God hates you.

:

Because the Lord makes all things work together for good, even famines.

:

Wow.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

He's that powerful.

:

Yes.

David Spoon:

When the lawyer asked Jesus what was the greatest commandment, Jesus said, you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

David Spoon:

That's the first and great commandment.

David Spoon:

And the second is likened unto it.

David Spoon:

What is it?

David Spoon:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

David Spoon:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

David Spoon:

Then Jesus said, on these two commandments.

:

Hang all the law and the prophets.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take a break and then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

Guest today, Focus on the Family, trauma specialist Tim Sanford.

:

People as they try to sort this out, they go through this.

:

They go through maybe a litany or a list in their mind and try to evaluate, well, you know, is this, this and is this this and, and what you said right there is the key that the core of our strength, the core of our ability to go on yet for another day in the midst of what we would consider to be chaos, both socially, politically and in other realms is the Lord.

:

I mean, the Lord gives us the abyss.

:

Until he blows that trumpet, we are not done.

:

Exactly.

:

And that's where we come back to.

:

People ask me, well, again, the why, why, why questions that people all across the US Are asking in my best theological accurate answer I can give them is I don't know.

:

I don't stop there.

:

That is an accurate answer.

:

I finished my answer then by saying, here's what I do know.

:

I know that God is still on his throne.

:

I know that God knew what was going on.

:

I don't know why that.

:

Here's what I do know.

:

God is still a loving God.

:

He still is in charge.

:

Here's what I do know.

:

Here's what I do know.

:

Here's what I do know.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Welcome back to the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at Kaam 770, the truce station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's Ka Man 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That fit as highly appropriate as there was a shooting in Wisconsin today at a Christian private school.

David Spoon:

a shooting that took place in:

David Spoon:

It shows you that we're still steeped.

David Spoon:

This world is steeped in sin and deception and evil.

David Spoon:

And the only answer is the Lord.

:

There is no other answer for, for anybody anywhere.

David Spoon:

Everybody thinks, well, we'll curb it.

David Spoon:

We'll curb it.

:

We're the ones that created it.

:

We need God to help.

David Spoon:

That would be the way to approach it.

David Spoon:

Okay, all right, all right.

David Spoon:

So we are Going to still have our trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's see if you guys can get this.

David Spoon:

This is not that difficult.

David Spoon:

I cannot give you the Bible reference because it will give you who the person is.

David Spoon:

But you got to work on it from this point of view.

David Spoon:

To whom did Paul write?

David Spoon:

From a child.

David Spoon:

You.

David Spoon:

You have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Jesus Christ.

David Spoon:

In fact, all scripture is given by inspiration of God is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction and righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

David Spoon:

Who did Paul write that to?

David Spoon:

Your only hint.

David Spoon:

I will give you this hint.

David Spoon:

Think of individuals that Paul wrote to.

David Spoon:

To whom did Paul write?

David Spoon:

From a child.

David Spoon:

You have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith that is in Christ Jesus.

David Spoon:

Get that?

David Spoon:

Who did he write that to?

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Who did Paul write that to?

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemousincrease.org now, we do have somebody.

David Spoon:

I think they're ready.

David Spoon:

Are they ready to answer the trivia question?

David Spoon:

Yep.

David Spoon:

Okay, let's go ahead and bring them on in.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

:

This is your little brother.

David Spoon:

Hello, brother.

David Spoon:

How are you?

:

I'm okay.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

I assume you heard what's going on.

David Spoon:

So we just addressed that just a few seconds ago in regards to the school.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

I'm making sure.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

Because.

:

Oh, no.

:

I mean, I just heard that news from you.

David Spoon:

Yeah, it's.

David Spoon:

It's sad.

David Spoon:

It's sad, it's terrible.

David Spoon:

And it's just.

David Spoon:

It's.

David Spoon:

It's not going to stop until the Lord comes back.

David Spoon:

This world and this nation and everything about it is still steeped left to right in sin.

David Spoon:

And that's not going to change because we're going to make it better because we're going to institute laws and so on and so forth.

David Spoon:

It's not going to change because the problem, the origin of the problem is us.

David Spoon:

And until the us part has changed, and I mean changed as in born again, it's not going to change.

David Spoon:

So that's just going to stay in that steady place.

David Spoon:

So let's set up on the Triv and then see how you're doing.

David Spoon:

And what's Going on.

David Spoon:

You ready for the triv?

:

Sure.

David Spoon:

Okay, here we go, my brother.

David Spoon:

It's simple.

David Spoon:

To which individual did Paul write you from?

David Spoon:

A child have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

:

That was Lois.

:

Son or grandson?

:

Timothy.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Amanda.

David Spoon:

You are right.

David Spoon:

It was Timothy.

David Spoon:

And that very next verse, after he went into that, he said to him, he said, all scripture is given by inspiration of God.

David Spoon:

Profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, instruction and righteousness.

David Spoon:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

David Spoon:

It's what equips us, is knowing the word of God.

David Spoon:

So that's a big key, especially understanding the tools and understanding that the word of God is a sword that helps us in the warfare.

David Spoon:

So what's happening with you, my friend?

David Spoon:

How are you?

David Spoon:

How was your weekend?

:

Weekend was fantastic.

David Spoon:

The weekend was fantastic.

David Spoon:

Did you just say that?

:

Yes.

David Spoon:

What?

David Spoon:

That's very.

David Spoon:

Well, praise the Lord for that.

David Spoon:

That's great.

David Spoon:

You had a great weekend.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

That's awesome.

:

We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary.

:

So it was fantastic.

David Spoon:

Oh, congratulations on that.

David Spoon:

Congratulations on your 17th wedding anniversary.

David Spoon:

Excellent, Excellent, excellent, excellent.

David Spoon:

So great.

David Spoon:

Isn't that nice?

David Spoon:

That's wonderful, brother.

David Spoon:

Wonderful.

David Spoon:

In the midst of all the sin in the world, there's still these moments where the grace of God shines bright.

:

And gives us something to see and to hope for.

David Spoon:

Isn't that the truth?

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

What can we pray for you about?

David Spoon:

Anything in particular?

:

Pray for he will release the cattle from his thousand hills.

David Spoon:

Okay, got it.

David Spoon:

This is how.

David Spoon:

So sometimes when I pray, you know, when I'm wearing a financial crunch, too, as a ministry, one of the things that I say to the Lord is, you have a cattle on a thousand hill.

David Spoon:

All I want are one male and one female.

David Spoon:

That's all I want.

David Spoon:

One male, one female.

David Spoon:

Send them my way.

David Spoon:

That's what I.

David Spoon:

That's what I pray, that the Lord will bless you financially.

David Spoon:

Okay.

:

Yes.

David Spoon:

Let's pray.

David Spoon:

Father, we come before you right now.

David Spoon:

I lift up my brother to you, and I just know exactly where he's at.

David Spoon:

I know exactly what's going on in his life.

David Spoon:

I pray that you would bless him financially.

David Spoon:

Lord, he doesn't want to use the money to play around.

David Spoon:

He's not using it for anything like that.

David Spoon:

He wants to use it for right purposes.

David Spoon:

Being a good steward.

David Spoon:

Enable him to be a steward by pouring out abundance upon him.

David Spoon:

Lord, you can take the little that we have and make it much.

David Spoon:

And you do that so often, and you get us through so many times.

David Spoon:

But we need that, Lord.

David Spoon:

We need that again in this broken world.

David Spoon:

We need the grace, the mercy, and.

:

The generosity that comes from you.

David Spoon:

And we know you love us.

:

You tell us so.

David Spoon:

We're asking for you to pour it out upon us and put our brother.

:

In a good position so he too can give to others and be blessed from that.

:

Since it's more blessed to give than receive, we ask you to bless him in this process.

:

In Jesus name, amen and Amen.

:

Amen.

:

Hey, I have a quick theological question for you.

David Spoon:

There are no such things as quick theological questions, but fire away.

:

Okay.

:

How do you know that Job went to a chiropractor?

David Spoon:

How do I know that?

David Spoon:

So theologically humorous.

David Spoon:

How do I know that Job went to a chiropractor?

David Spoon:

How do I know, Samson, that Job went to a chiropractor?

:

Yes.

David Spoon:

I'm asking you how.

:

ell, if the answer is, in Job:

:

With me, but he seized me by the neck.

David Spoon:

He seized me by the neck.

David Spoon:

All right, there you go.

David Spoon:

A chiropractic joke thrown into the show.

David Spoon:

That's probably a first right there.

David Spoon:

And it should be something that came from you.

David Spoon:

Excellent, Job.

:

Well, I find somewhere that wasn't my.

David Spoon:

Original, so that's still a good one.

David Spoon:

I like it.

David Spoon:

Good job, bro.

David Spoon:

All right.

:

I love you.

David Spoon:

I love you too, brother.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Bye bye.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

All right, I wanna do this little teaching, and we're gonna do a little bit, and then I'm get into it a lot in a lot more in a few seconds.

David Spoon:

But here's what takes place for Abraham.

David Spoon:

Abraham, what a great guy.

David Spoon:

He just goes, where the Lord I'm going.

David Spoon:

Yes, I'm using faith.

David Spoon:

At that time, there was a severe famine in the land.

David Spoon:

So Abraham went down to Egypt to wait it out.

David Spoon:

As he was approaching the borders of Egypt, Abraham said to Sarai, you're a very beautiful woman.

David Spoon:

Isn't that nice?

David Spoon:

Saying to his wife, you're beautiful.

David Spoon:

When the Egyptians see you, they will say, that is his wife.

David Spoon:

Let's kill him, and then we can have her.

David Spoon:

But if you say, you're my sister, then the Egyptians will treat me well because of their interest in you, and they will spare my life.

David Spoon:

So without trying to justify Abraham, and I can't believe there's commentators that actually try to do this, which is really funny.

David Spoon:

Every person who engages with God does really good in certain areas.

David Spoon:

And really maybe not as good in other areas, we already know Abraham didn't do so great when he tried to produce the promise of God with Hagar.

David Spoon:

We already know that.

David Spoon:

No, try and make him better than he is.

David Spoon:

He goes down to Egypt.

David Spoon:

There's not the indication that the Lord sent him per se as much as he decided.

David Spoon:

That's kind of a little bit of an issue.

David Spoon:

I don't think it's that big a deal.

David Spoon:

It's like, there's food over there.

David Spoon:

Let's go there.

David Spoon:

And so he's getting ready.

David Spoon:

They're going to go into Egypt.

David Spoon:

And he says to Sarah, who is his half sister, Genesis 20 makes that clear.

David Spoon:

He says, you're beautiful.

David Spoon:

I think that's very nice that he said that, because you're so beautiful, they're going to want to kill me.

David Spoon:

So I have a better plan.

David Spoon:

You just tell everybody you're my sister, you are my sister.

David Spoon:

But you just tell them that.

David Spoon:

And then they're going to treat me well because of their interest in you, and they'll spare my life.

David Spoon:

So let's be forward about this, right?

David Spoon:

There's a severe land.

David Spoon:

Abraham goes down to Egypt to wait it out.

David Spoon:

There's no food where he was.

David Spoon:

He figured he might as well go to the best place where there's more food.

David Spoon:

Turns out that this famine and this move in this direction turned out all to be from God, that that's where God was directing the overall circumstance.

David Spoon:

Remember just last week on Friday, we talked about the fact that God, God sent the king of Israel before he was anointed King Saul.

David Spoon:

He sent him out looking for donkeys.

David Spoon:

But at the same time, he's telling Samuel, I'm sending you a king.

David Spoon:

There's a divine perspective and there's a human perspective.

David Spoon:

The human perspective is looking for donkeys.

David Spoon:

The divine perspective, sending you a king.

David Spoon:

And here it's Abraham's, like, there is.

:

No food around here.

David Spoon:

Human perspective.

David Spoon:

We're going to go over there, tell them I'm your brother, then they'll be really nice to me.

David Spoon:

God's going from the divine perspective.

David Spoon:

I'm going to bless Abraham because he believes me.

:

That's what's going on.

David Spoon:

And the famine was actually used by God to pour it out on Abraham.

David Spoon:

Now, you can't say that Abraham didn't use deception.

David Spoon:

Of course he did.

David Spoon:

But God didn't let anybody judge him because it's God's servant.

David Spoon:

And God was going to handle that part of it.

David Spoon:

Nobody else was going to touch it.

David Spoon:

But God took the circumstance that was.

David Spoon:

Which was bad.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

It's a famine.

David Spoon:

It's bad.

David Spoon:

But God was going to use even the bad circumstance to become a blessing.

David Spoon:

You go through all the psalms every time.

David Spoon:

Sorrow in the nighttime, but joy comes in the morning.

David Spoon:

Go through all the different things and you already know that God turns things around.

David Spoon:

Well, there was a famine, and God was going to use the famine to be a bounty for Abraham.

David Spoon:

Hey, I don't know if you know this or not, but famines are not supposed to be the place where you get a bounty.

:

But then again, when God's involved, he.

David Spoon:

Can take anything, everything, anyone and everyone.

:

And turn it in whatever direction he desires.

:

And the famine became a source of blessing.

:

That is who you serve.

:

That is who loves you.

:

How about that?

David Spoon:

Pretty good.

David Spoon:

All right, we'll take a short break, then come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on KAM 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

:

Like any person spread searching for answers.

:

I too have wondered about him.

:

He has a weird sense of humor.

:

If people are seeking wisdom and insight from the great teachers around the world, would they go to David?

:

No, I don't think so.

:

Those big ears really don't help.

:

Will people enjoy his perspective on culture, politics, food, sports, and local and national news?

:

I don't know.

:

He's just a client.

:

Tune in to the David Spoon Experience on kaam.

David Spoon:

What is is the David Spoon Experience?

:

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around.

:

Even under his wings, day and night, they never stopped saying, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come.

:

And you're thinking, that's a great verse, Dave.

:

What does that got to do with Thanksgiving?

:

Right, because that doesn't have any application except for God is pictured here as always was, always is, and always will be.

:

And a person who is walking in the dynamic of continually giving thanks is looking at their past with Thanksgiving, is looking at their present with Thanksgiving, and is looking at their future with thanksgiving.

:

Because God has operated in the past, the present, and the future, and you have a past, a present and a future.

:

And when you look at your past and you operate with Thanksgiving, and you look at your present, and you operate with Thanksgiving, and you look at your future, and you operate with Thanksgiving, you're operating in those principles with God.

:

And if you look at your past with Thanksgiving, guess what?

:

You won't have.

:

You won't have bitterness.

:

And if you look at your present with Thanksgiving, guess what you're going to have a trusting and a confidence.

:

And if you look to your future with thanksgiving, guess what?

:

You're going to have a hope for a better tomorrow.

:

All these principles operate.

:

If you will continually walk in Thanksgiving on every aspect and element of your life, you won't be bitter.

:

You'll be trusting God and walking in confidence.

:

You'll be looking for a better devotion.

:

You'll be operating in the principle of faith.

:

You'll be honoring God, and you'll be setting yourself free in your partnership with God.

:

How can that be bad?

:

How can that be bad?

:

It blow my mind.

:

Crying out loud.

:

We should be thanking God for oh, but this terrible thing happened, but look how God brought you through it.

:

This terrible thing is happening, but look how God is bringing you through it.

:

Hey, when they start shooting Christians, look how God took you out and brought you to him.

:

How many think it's all you can't escape this.

:

If you look at your life with the continual feast of thanksgiving, you'll have a continual feast.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

The David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Oh, welcome back to that David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

Thank you for joining us here at KAAM 7.

David Spoon:

6, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

That's KA Men 770, the Truth Station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Here's your next trivia question.

David Spoon:

A man said to Jesus, good Master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?

David Spoon:

And he said to him, why do you call me good?

David Spoon:

There is no one good.

David Spoon:

But what did Jesus say there?

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

And he said to him, why call me good?

David Spoon:

There is no one good.

David Spoon:

But ta da.

David Spoon:

Matthew:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email davidemustincrease.org now before we do that, I gotta send you up to the website.

David Spoon:

And the reason I'm sending you up to the website is the same reason we do it on a pretty regular basis.

David Spoon:

Our ministry for us at he must increase ministry in the David Spoon Experience.

David Spoon:

We go through our biggest lull between December 15th and January, actually January 2nd.

David Spoon:

That's just what happens.

David Spoon:

I mean, we've been going through this for a while.

David Spoon:

So we're in One of those lulls.

David Spoon:

Don't you love it?

David Spoon:

It's the same trial and test for me as it is for everybody else.

David Spoon:

I mean, I go through the same thing.

David Spoon:

So we're asking people if you're able to give, give, and if you can't give, please, please pray for us.

David Spoon:

We're just in this zone about praying for new givers.

David Spoon:

And maybe somebody that the Lord has blessed us maybe wants to pour that out on us.

David Spoon:

We think that's important.

David Spoon:

We like the ministry.

David Spoon:

We want to keep doing it.

David Spoon:

And in order to keep doing it, we need the help to do it.

David Spoon:

So if you've never given before, pray about it.

David Spoon:

You do not have to be guilted into it.

David Spoon:

We absolutely hate that 100%.

David Spoon:

We want you to give totally, not reluctantly, not under compulsion, because you want to and you want to do it as unto the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's all.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

Nothing more.

David Spoon:

So we'd ask you to check it out on our website if you're inclined to do that.

David Spoon:

Check out hemustincrease.org prayer request.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org praise report.

David Spoon:

Hemostincrease.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

Hemustincrease.org hemustincrease.org as a duly designated representative.

:

Of the city, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin.

David Spoon:

Or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.

David Spoon:

I like the fort with.

David Spoon:

That's a great line.

David Spoon:

All right, somebody is ready to answer the trivia question.

David Spoon:

Let's send them on through.

David Spoon:

Knock, knock.

David Spoon:

This is David.

David Spoon:

Who am I talking to?

Bobby:

This is Bobby.

David Spoon:

Hi, Bobby, how are you?

Bobby:

I'm doing pretty good today.

Bobby:

I thought I'd get in a quick answer on the trivia.

Bobby:

I'm sitting at a.

Bobby:

At a restaurant.

David Spoon:

Okay, let me get.

David Spoon:

Let me set it up for you so that people don't look at you funny while you're.

David Spoon:

While you're there.

David Spoon:

Okay?

David Spoon:

A man said to Jesus, good master, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?

David Spoon:

And he said, why do you call me good?

David Spoon:

There's no one good but the Father in heaven.

David Spoon:

That is correct, Amundo.

David Spoon:

There is nobody good but God.

David Spoon:

That's right.

David Spoon:

Yes.

David Spoon:

That's the way to do it.

David Spoon:

Good job, Bobby.

David Spoon:

I know you probably don't want to hang on too long.

David Spoon:

Sometimes when I'm in the restaurant, people look at me like, hey, why you got that phone on?

Bobby:

Well, thank you.

Bobby:

You have a good day.

Bobby:

My throat's a little under the weather, but I'm feeling great.

Bobby:

Y'all have a good day, too, and have a merry Christmas.

David Spoon:

God bless.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna pray for you as you hang up.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna pray for your throat, too.

David Spoon:

Okay?

Bobby:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

God bless you.

David Spoon:

All right, Father, we just come before you right now.

David Spoon:

We lift up Bobby to you right now.

David Spoon:

We ask that you would bring healing to his throat.

David Spoon:

He's got a little bit of a throat problem, Lord.

David Spoon:

I know all about that.

David Spoon:

Doesn't matter, Lord, you are able to heal.

David Spoon:

It doesn't take anything.

David Spoon:

Lord, we're asking you to bring your healing power into Bobby's throat so you can feel better.

David Spoon:

Yes, he'll do all the things he's supposed to do, but, Lord, accelerate that healing and give him a break and let him enjoy the holiday season and just be at rest and at comfort.

David Spoon:

And we lift him up to you and ask you to bless him where he is now and bless his next couple of weeks.

David Spoon:

And we ask all of this not because any of us deserve it, but because you are awesome and generous.

David Spoon:

We pray this in Jesus name, Amen and amen.

David Spoon:

All right, before we get into any more teachings, we do have to do something that I'm sad to do, and that is Jake's take.

David Spoon:

All right, Jake, what do we have from yesterday's gloomy rainy day?

:

Ah, we'll go ahead and start it off with.

:

We'll go and start it off with your Detroit Lions, David losing a good game overall to the Buffalo Bills.

:

And that ends the win streak for the Lions.

:

I.

:

I'm.

:

I know the Lions were on a pretty good win streak.

:

Had they only had one loss before yesterday, but correct lose their second game against the Buffalo Bills.

:

And it was a good game overall, though.

David Spoon:

It was good.

David Spoon:

And I was watching it and Noel and I were there and I'm going to tell you what I'm going to say and everybody's going to get mad at me, and that's all right.

David Spoon:

But I said as soon as the very first set of downs took place and it was a three and out, I turned into.

David Spoon:

And he said, they're going to lose.

David Spoon:

They didn't even look like the team they did before.

David Spoon:

I mean, you can just tell.

David Spoon:

I just watch the Lions and you're.

:

Like, okay, we're getting this three.

David Spoon:

That was three.

David Spoon:

And I was terrible.

David Spoon:

It was just like, you've got to be kidding.

David Spoon:

And sure enough, the Bills are good, though.

David Spoon:

The Bills are great.

:

They're one of the best teams in the league.

David Spoon:

Yep.

David Spoon:

No question about it.

David Spoon:

And we could.

David Spoon:

We could see those two teams again.

:

That's what I was going to say.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

:

Maybe that was a little super bowl preview and, you know, we'll see it in February.

:

We'll see.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

If it is, the Lions will win that one.

David Spoon:

I promise.

David Spoon:

That'll be.

David Spoon:

I have very.

:

If that's a Super bowl matchup in February, I'll be pulling for Detroit.

:

Right.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

Then the other thing is that Dallas won against a team that looked like they were playing Frisbee.

:

Yeah.

:

You know.

:

You know how in college football they have all their bowl games around this time?

:

That the Cowboys and Panthers yesterday was the toilet bowl.

:

That's.

:

That was the name of that.

David Spoon:

I'm gonna give you a clap for that.

David Spoon:

Hold on.

David Spoon:

Hold on.

David Spoon:

Golf clap for that.

David Spoon:

That was hilarious.

David Spoon:

Excellent.

David Spoon:

Very, very good.

:

The Cowboys did get a good win, though.

David Spoon:

They got a win.

David Spoon:

You got to win.

David Spoon:

A win is a win.

David Spoon:

You got it.

David Spoon:

Even I would have taken them.

:

You'll take them.

:

At this point in the season, you'll take them.

David Spoon:

You take the win.

David Spoon:

Win.

:

Congrats to the Cowboys for getting that win yesterday.

David Spoon:

Pretty funny stuff.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

All right, let's get back into our text now.

David Spoon:

We're dealing with Abraham.

David Spoon:

I got to be careful here, because some people, they read into this more than they should, and then other people don't read in or don't put into it what is in there.

David Spoon:

We're going back to text.

David Spoon:

Abraham says, you're a very beautiful woman to Sarah.

David Spoon:

And this is Abram and Sarai.

David Spoon:

So if you ever hear me say Abraham and Sarah, I'm not trying to do the scripture injustice.

David Spoon:

I'm just so used to speaking to them as Abraham and Sarah.

David Spoon:

So don't get all wigged out on that.

David Spoon:

It says Abram says, look, they're gonna say, let's kill him.

David Spoon:

Say, you're my sister.

David Spoon:

But if you say, you're my sister, they'll treat me well.

David Spoon:

Because they're interested in you.

David Spoon:

Cause he's kind of figuring if they think of him as the brother, they can get an in with the sister.

David Spoon:

Do you understand that?

David Spoon:

I mean, I just want you to catch that little itty bitty thing there.

David Spoon:

He's like, if you say, I'm your brother, they're going to treat me well.

David Spoon:

And the reason is because.

David Spoon:

Well, then if that's her brother and they treat him good, he would be able to speak to her on their behalf.

David Spoon:

You get what's going on there.

David Spoon:

That's what he's kind of formulating.

David Spoon:

Then it takes.

David Spoon:

Then this is what happens.

David Spoon:

Verse 14.

David Spoon:

Sure enough, when they arrived in Egypt, everyone spoke of her beauty.

David Spoon:

When the palace officials saw her, they sang her her praises to the king.

David Spoon:

Can we at least be honest?

David Spoon:

Sarah must have been pretty good looking.

David Spoon:

I mean, that's the truth.

David Spoon:

They sang her praises to the king, the Pharaoh, and she was taken into his harem.

David Spoon:

Then verse 16.

David Spoon:

Pharaoh gave Abram many gifts because of her.

David Spoon:

You see what God did, I know you see it.

David Spoon:

That should never have happened.

David Spoon:

Abraham probably shouldn't have gone down that road.

David Spoon:

We'll talk about the judgment in just a second.

David Spoon:

But what he did was he worked the system.

David Spoon:

It's like, well, they are in fact brother and sister.

David Spoon:

But to deny that she was his wife, that was deception.

David Spoon:

So don't think it wasn't.

David Spoon:

And you know, the Lord's not impressed with deception.

David Spoon:

But it's God's job to judge his kids.

David Spoon:

And he didn't really judge Abraham.

David Spoon:

Some say, well, he judged him later on and did this.

David Spoon:

It's like, meh, maybe.

David Spoon:

But just like Abraham anticipated, they were amazed at how beautiful Sarah was.

David Spoon:

And then Sarah, because she told them, abraham's her brother, they gave him all kinds of gifts.

David Spoon:

They gave him finances and blessing.

David Spoon:

It was a very smooth move.

David Spoon:

He ended up receiving sheep and cattle and donkeys and male and female servants and camels.

David Spoon:

And it's like.

David Spoon:

And by the way, people are like, well, there weren't any camels back then.

David Spoon:

There were for the Pharaohs.

David Spoon:

Oh my goodness, those people are so stupid.

David Spoon:

They're just not intellectual.

David Spoon:

Doesn't matter.

David Spoon:

The point is simply this.

David Spoon:

God poured it out on Abraham through a famine.

David Spoon:

He was going there to find food.

David Spoon:

God was sending him over in that direction because God was going to pour out his blessing.

David Spoon:

This is the beginning of Abraham's, let's just say, his plunder, so to speak, his blessings.

David Spoon:

And what happens.

David Spoon:

And what happens is so fascinating.

David Spoon:

Listen to what happens in verse 17.

David Spoon:

The Lord sent a terrible plague upon Pharaoh's household because of Sarah, Abram's wife.

David Spoon:

So Pharaoh called for Abraham and accused him sharply.

David Spoon:

What is this you've done to me?

David Spoon:

He demanded.

David Spoon:

Why didn't you tell me she was your wife?

David Spoon:

Why were you willing to let me marry her, saying she was your sister, here is your wife.

David Spoon:

Take her and be gone.

David Spoon:

Verse 20.

David Spoon:

Then Pharaoh then sent them out of the country.

David Spoon:

Listen to this.

David Spoon:

Under armed escort, Abraham and his wife with all their Household and their belongings.

David Spoon:

What I'm trying to get us to get is we do not do everything perfect before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Now, there are some times that we might be even a little conniving.

David Spoon:

Come on.

:

Well, I'm not trying to do it wrong.

David Spoon:

It's like, got it.

David Spoon:

Okay, listen.

David Spoon:

We try to do it right.

David Spoon:

And if we fall into doing it wrong, the Lord knows, and the Lord will judge us.

David Spoon:

And the Lord will handle that part of it.

David Spoon:

But when God's children make a mistake, it's God's children that make the mistake.

David Spoon:

He will do the judging.

David Spoon:

In this case, God just used the circumstance to pour upon Abraham a blessing.

David Spoon:

The reason I want to key in on this is because Abraham received such a blessing.

David Spoon:

This is going to lead to him and lot separating because there's just.

David Spoon:

They got so much stuff growing between them.

David Spoon:

But God blessed him in the midst of that, in spite of the fact that he tried to pull a fast one.

David Spoon:

I'm going to say something that is absolutely going to get people upset.

David Spoon:

So I will say this.

David Spoon:

Now, this is not a nugget for you to.

David Spoon:

It's not a hill to die on.

David Spoon:

It's not anything like that.

David Spoon:

It's not a fellowship buster.

David Spoon:

Nothing like that.

David Spoon:

But as we look in Scripture, you can see that God, at different times, even when we've done something stupid, still.

:

Pulls us out of the mud.

David Spoon:

And for whatever reason, outside of his generosity and his love and his graciousness.

:

And his mercy, just blesses us.

David Spoon:

There are times even today, when I said to the Lord, you know, and I said it, and then I caught myself saying it, saying, I can't.

:

I just.

David Spoon:

You're so gracious to me.

David Spoon:

And in saying that to God, I.

:

Immediately said, I'm not worth it.

:

I couldn't earn it.

:

And it's like, that's so dumb, because.

David Spoon:

You can't earn grace in the first place.

David Spoon:

You can't earn that grace.

:

God is gracious because he's gracious, not because we're good.

David Spoon:

He pours grace upon you and I, and in times, we not only could never deserve it ever, but at his.

:

Will and his desire.

David Spoon:

And he might take something that just looks sloppy and choppy, like a famine, and turn it into an opportunity for us to be blessed.

David Spoon:

And you'll never be able to justify it.

David Spoon:

You'll never be able to understand it.

:

Theologically in the sense of, I can put this here.

:

I can put this here.

David Spoon:

It always goes back to who God is and that we forget that sometimes.

:

He just pours it on us because he loves us in spite of the things that we think say or do.

David Spoon:

So God sends a plague on Pharaoh.

David Spoon:

If you're Pharaoh, you're probably thinking, this does not seem right.

David Spoon:

Poor guy, right?

:

And Abraham's wife, he's like.

David Spoon:

He's like.

David Spoon:

Because he's got Abraham's wife.

David Spoon:

And it's like he's got this standard God.

David Spoon:

His standard is not going to be changed.

David Spoon:

And his children are involved and they messed up, but God's protecting them and is judging those who are still coming after them.

David Spoon:

Now, Pharaoh, it's true Pharaoh had no right to approach Sarah, but he was.

:

There was a deception going on.

David Spoon:

But God is still going to bless Abraham because you want to know what I'm going to say it?

David Spoon:

You're going to.

:

Abraham still has faith.

:

He still believes in God and has strong faith.

:

God's not going to take the promise away from Abraham and he judges Pharaoh for it.

David Spoon:

And then it gets so bad that Pharaoh has an armed escort for Abraham.

:

To get out of it.

:

What I'm trying to communicate, doing a poor job in, but trying to tell you is God sometimes will take your circumstance where it looks like you've done something wrong or you're not doing it the best that you can.

:

And it doesn't mean that God still won't bless you, because he still blessed Abraham even though Abraham didn't handle it the best possible way.

:

And God will still bless you and I, not because we deserve it, but because he's God.

:

We didn't deserve Jesus.

:

We were enemies with God when Jesus came into the picture.

:

And he still, while we were enemies, blessed us with the sacrificial redemption of Jesus Christ.

:

If that's how God initially breaches into.

David Spoon:

Our universe, by giving us Jesus when we're on the wrong side of things, then doesn't that passage come into play in Romans 8:32, when he says, if he gave us Jesus, how will he not, along with giving us Jesus, also.

:

Give us all things?

David Spoon:

Romans 8:32.

David Spoon:

He who did not spare his own.

:

Son, but delivered him up for us.

David Spoon:

All, how shall he not, with him also freely give us all things?

David Spoon:

You get blessed by the Lord, not.

:

Because you deserve it, but because of who he is.

David Spoon:

And that takes faith to stand in that.

:

And that faith makes God smile.

:

It pleases him.

:

No, it's not a perfect walk on our end, but he is perfect as God on his end.

David Spoon:

And we should just be thankful and grateful and appreciative that he takes our.

:

Mess and brings a miracle out of the mess.

:

That's how much he loves you.

:

He's not going to let it go.

:

He's not going to let you go, ever.

:

Get it?

:

Now that, that is a beautiful lesson.

:

Thank you for your grace and your mercy.

:

Lord God Almighty, King of the universe.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, you've been listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

David Spoon:

More insanity with Spoonanity.

David Spoon:

Talk to you then.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

It may be false, but it feels the same.

David Spoon:

So I punish myself.

David Spoon:

I go down to the jail of my soul.

David Spoon:

Stop that boy.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

Don't let him know.

David Spoon Experience Guest:

Stop that boy.

David Spoon Experience Guest:
