Something that the Author, Filmmaker & Bishop TD Jakes once said that has never left me, was his concept about being a voluminous “10-Gallon People”.
I first heard him speak to this at an Oprah Event back in like 2013 & he was laying it down how sometimes we are 10-Gallon people living in a pint-sized world. Ha!
And let’s say if you are a 10-Gallon Love kind of person that was born into a Pint Size Capacity Family - no matter how hard they/we try, it might feel as if our cups will never be full.
This isn’t to say that the “pint-sized people” in our lives aren’t doing their very best to fill us up. It’s just simply that even if they were to sincerely give everything they have - it will never seem like it’s enough.
Today on The Karen Kenney Show, we’re taking a look at what it means to be a 10-Gallon person and how that translates into the way we feel in our every day relationships and lives.
If you’re a 10-Gallon kind of Peacock and you choose to surround yourself with pint-sized people you will always be left feeling like something is missing.
If you don’t explore or understand this - it can lead to feelings of resentment or grievances against others. It helps to realize that the common denominator lies with us and our 10-Gallon capacity. Ha!
Rather than getting upset because of what we’re missing, we need to look at where we can adjust the balance of who we have in our lives. As well as commit to maybe pouring into our pint-sized counterparts with some of the overflow from our 10-Gallon People hearts!
