Shownotes
Million-dollar cowboy Rhen Richard, of Roosevelt, Utah, is an all-around hand who last year qualified for his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in the heading with Quinn Kesler and in the tie-down roping.
Richard, who was the Resistol Rookie of the Year on the heel side in 2008, grew up in Utah playing sports and team roping. His focus has been on the all-around since an early age, and in 2018 he came oh-so-close to a gold buckle thanks to strong performances in both the heading and tie-down roping at the Finals. On this week’s episode of The Score, Richard talks about that Finals and his motivation going forward.
His great horses have been a huge part of his success, and Richard also discusses how he likes them to perform and how he keeps them healthy. If you remember, we did a story during the NFR on his Canadian-rooted buckskin horse, Festus, and Richard talks about that horse’s evolution and what else will be in his rig come summer—when he kicks off his partnership with Florida’s Clint Summers.
