Shownotes

What happens when you stop fighting your intuition and start trusting where it leads? In this week’s episode, we’re joined by Judy Hawley, a trauma therapist, clinical social worker, and creator of Manifestation Therapy®: a powerful integration of neuroscience, somatic psychology, emotional processing, and universal energetic principles.

Judy’s path has been anything but linear. From her early days studying child psychology, navigating undiagnosed ADHD, and traveling the world after leaving university, to a first career in computer programming that left her restless, Judy eventually returned to her true calling: healing and human transformation.

After a profound personal loss, Judy followed her intuition into social work, earned multiple degrees in record time, and became a single mom while building a career in hospital and crisis treatment settings. Today, she combines evidence-based practices like Brainspotting, IFS, and EMDR with spiritual intuition to help clients regulate their nervous systems, heal emotional patterns, and manifest lives aligned with their highest purpose.

In this conversation, we explore:

  • Judy’s remarkable shift from logic-driven careers to soul-led work
  • How Manifestation Therapy® bridges science and spirit
  • The role of intuition in trauma recovery and personal transformation
  • What it means to live in energetic alignment after hardship and healing

If you’ve ever felt torn between practicality and passion, or wondered how to integrate evidence-based therapy with deeper spiritual work, this episode offers both guidance and inspiration.

Judy Hawley, is a trauma therapist, clinical social worker, and Manifestation Coach. She has authored books and created Manifestation Therapy®, a modality that integrates neuroscience, somatic psychology, emotional processing and universal energetic principles. She supports purpose-driven individuals to heal emotional patterns, regulate their nervous systems, align with their deeper purpose and highest self. Judy blends evidence based modalities such as Brainspotting, IFS, EMDR and more with spiritual intuition to support clients and create lasting transformation.

00;00;20;05 - 00;00;24;28

Cherie Lindberg

Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of Elevated Life Academy and I am your host,

00;00;24;29 - 00;00;40;25

Cherie Lindberg

Cherie Lindberg. And today we have a special guest, Judy. And I'm going to let Judy introduce herself. And then we're going to share about what Judy is doing in the world and some of her gifts, and how that might help some of you listeners. So welcome, Judy.

00;00;40;27 - 00;01;22;05

Judy Hawley

Beautiful. Thank you for having me. Cherie So my name is Judy. Judy Hawley, I am a trauma therapist and a coach. I help people with life problems, ADHD manifestation. So my business is called Manifestation Therapy and Coaching. I have my own podcast. Thank you for being on it. Yes, recently I'm really connecting spiritually, so I'm expanding my practice to include my more spiritual side of coaching with Kundalini energy, and I'm not quite sure where I'm going with everything yet, but it's a it's a journey and the one that I really am enjoying.

00;01;22;05 - 00;01;37;21

Cherie Lindberg

So I mean, you're following the energy. It sounds like wherever it's wherever taking you. Tell me a little bit about your journey. Like how did you get to focus to be a therapist? And then how did that shift into coaching and then moving towards spirituality for yourself?

00;01;37;21 - 00;02;00;09

Judy Hawley

Well, I'm in Canada, so we do things a little bit differently up here, but I did things very differently. So I actually started out in child psychology after high school in university, but I was very ADHD but not diagnosed. So I went to university and I could only take one psych course the first year and to the second year.

00;02;00;09 - 00;02;19;27

Judy Hawley

And I was like, well, this is both because I don't want to take two courses in this and Shakespeare I want to take. Anyway, I ended up dropping out and traveling Canada. I checked across the country. I was a little wild in my 20s, ended up wanting to take social work, and everybody said, oh, don't take that. There's no future in it.

00;02;19;27 - 00;02;47;02

Judy Hawley

So I took computers instead, listened instead of listening to my intuition. Big lesson in life. So I was fixing computers and programing, which I was good at, but I didn't really enjoy. And then eventually, after the loss of about eight people in my life, I found myself unemployed again and decided instead of focusing on what I couldn't have, I was going to focus on just going with the flow.

00;02;47;02 - 00;03;12;06

Judy Hawley

So I kind of celebrated the loss and was led by the universe into a second careers training that we have in Ontario, in Canada, where they put me through schooling. So I got to go back to college and I took social service work, where I found addictions work was one of my skills, and then from there just expanded.

00;03;12;06 - 00;03;36;11

Judy Hawley

spired, and I only paid maybe:

00;03;36;18 - 00;04;10;08

Judy Hawley

So Mary blessed. And since that time I have worked in hospitals. I've worked in forensics, crisis treatment centers. I work a lot with families and youth. Borderline personality disorder was one of my specialties for a while, and all along that time I had it in my mind to manifestation was a big thing for me, and to write a book for supportive professionals on how they could integrate the universal principles and manifestation into their own work.

00;04;10;08 - 00;04;29;14

Judy Hawley

So eventually I found my voice and I was able to actually get that out of me. And here I am today. I'm a trauma therapist and trained in multiple modalities brain spotting, eMDR, and internal family systems, and my spiritual work is just kind of expanding into more.

00;04;29;16 - 00;04;44;12

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah, yeah. So let's let's talk a little bit about that. Like how did how did you shift or, you know, as you're moving from, you know, the trauma work, it sounds like now you're opening up to more spiritual paths. Yeah.

00;04;44;13 - 00;05;25;19

Judy Hawley

Well, I was thinking about this today and everything is connection. But we know that. We know that we are all connected. We are all one to everything. But really, everything is connection. Like trauma. You're disconnected from your body when it's happening. In addiction, you're disconnected from everything. You know, the opposite of addiction is connection. And so I've, I've found that when I'm working with my clients, whether it's in therapy or in coaching, when I support them in connecting to themselves into the bigger picture, into spirituality, when I support that kind of connection, that's how they heal the messed and the fastest.

00;05;25;19 - 00;05;50;00

Judy Hawley

So for my own, the connection has returned because I was always very, very spiritual. But I kind of let it disconnect, I guess. So refining that has really led me on. Oh, if I support my clients in that spiritual side of things and connection, they feel so much faster and so much they return home, right?

00;05;50;01 - 00;06;21;17

Cherie Lindberg

Yes, yes. No. What you're saying is very powerful. Lisa millar wrote the book The Awakened Brain, and she talks about just having a belief greater than ourselves. Just having that belief is an 80% buffer to depression. That's huge. Like, why are we not talking about that? Yes, yes. So I mean, it makes sense because when you go into the spiritual, you're also going into the connection, like you said, coming home to who they truly are.

00;06;21;19 - 00;06;34;06

Cherie Lindberg

So why wouldn't it help them heal, right? Because then they start to love themselves more and trust themselves more. And so what are some of the methods you use to help facilitate that for your clients?

00;06;34;06 - 00;07;03;21

Judy Hawley

So as I said, I'm ADHD, so when I go with something I like, I really go with it. So eMDR, brain spotting, internal family systems I trained in neuro linguistic programing, motivational interviewing, emotionally focused therapy. So I've learned that I kind of I don't really follow the rules. And so I integrate them all or intuitively. I kind of focus on what the client needs in the moment and let the answer come.

00;07;03;21 - 00;07;14;05

Judy Hawley

And that's where we go. So I guess there's no real easy answer to that other than I really support them where they're at. Which is, you know.

00;07;14;06 - 00;07;28;12

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah, that's what I'm hearing and that you meet them where they're at and from, based on that, you let your intuition come up with what tool you're going to use, because that tool can reach them when another tool might not, or whatever. Right.

00;07;28;14 - 00;07;29;11

Judy Hawley

Yeah.

00;07;29;13 - 00;07;31;22

Cherie Lindberg

It's like that creative process. It's.

00;07;31;29 - 00;07;32;18

Judy Hawley

Yes.

00;07;32;25 - 00;07;33;06

Cherie Lindberg

Okay.

00;07;33;07 - 00;07;52;24

Judy Hawley

I will say it's always about the connection. Like where do you feel at your body. And I noticed some people are more body focused. Some people are more emotional. Some people a lot of people are more logic based. So it's kind of building that, okay, you know what's going on in your body, but what's the emotion. Right. And how do you process that?

00;07;52;25 - 00;08;05;03

Cherie Lindberg

So what I'm hearing is that you're working with them on the mind body connection so that they can feel it in their bodies, but also think and grow the awareness so that there's a communication going on.

00;08;05;03 - 00;08;20;28

Judy Hawley

And then usually what happens is the connection to the bigger, bigger picture, the bigger source or internally. And sometimes they have I mean, I'm sure you've witnessed it, but it's amazing like visions or connections to the higher source.

00;08;20;28 - 00;08;47;07

Cherie Lindberg

So yeah, and I talked to a lot of practitioners, especially new ones, that the first time that happens, it can really jar them and scare them. Like what's happening in my my counseling office or you know what? What just happened? I need to talk to somebody. Can you give me an example of maybe one of the first times where you had you held space and you had this experience with a client where you were like, whoa.

00;08;47;09 - 00;09;26;07

Judy Hawley

I'm not sure I remember one where, like, it kind of threw me for a loop, but I will say it, like excites me. I did have one that was very powerful, very logic based individual. And they had a vision of like we were doing kind of internal family systems of age thing, and they did an internal view, and it became this huge light being that had within the Light Beings heart, all these different ages of themselves and different versions of themselves were all gathered within this beings heart.

00;09;26;07 - 00;10;00;12

Judy Hawley

And for them it was very transforming. And I was just blown away by this logic based individual having such a vision and being able to connect with it on that level. So that's one of the ones that come to mind. And I will say early on, I guess in my very young days, I had a youth that would talk to their grandparent, and they were referred to me to kind of get rid of it, to remove it from their life because they were possibly schizophrenic or having.

00;10;00;13 - 00;10;23;06

Judy Hawley

And instead what I found was it wasn't a source of discomfort, it was a source of comfort because their grandfather had been their only unconditional support in their life. So it was bringing them light and healing. So instead of getting rid of it, of course I allowed it and encouraged it to be something that they found supporting whether it was real or not.

00;10;23;07 - 00;10;27;29

Judy Hawley

I used those words, but yeah, to help them connect with that source.

00;10;28;06 - 00;10;42;27

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah, yeah. So can you tell me a little bit more of working with your clients that are moving into the spiritual and then the manifesting, like, what are some of the tools that you use to help them, like manifest their desires?

00;10;43;04 - 00;11;13;05

Judy Hawley

Right. I always do the grounding. So we do meditations, a lot of connecting to that grounding cord that's dropping into the crystal core center of the Earth, and then allowing them to connect to the higher source with the light from the crown of their head. I do a lot of body scans, which helps them kind of connect to themselves, and then just allowing them to connect with their nervous system and whatever's being held within it at the same time as the emotion.

00;11;13;13 - 00;11;27;23

Judy Hawley

And through that processing the spirituality side of things, just it naturally comes because we are spiritual beings, right? So yeah, it just I find I don't have to steer them in that direction. They just.

00;11;27;25 - 00;11;29;08

Cherie Lindberg

Exactly emerges.

00;11;29;10 - 00;11;29;17

Judy Hawley

Yeah.

00;11;29;18 - 00;11;44;25

Cherie Lindberg

So like if I came to you, you know, and I said, like, I really want to manifest, I don't know, maybe a different program or I want to make a certain amount of money or anything like that. You would start with connection.

00;11;44;25 - 00;12;09;14

Judy Hawley

I would start with connection. And through that connection, what is disconnecting you? So what's preventing that? What what is keeping you in that feeling that you can't have it. And then from there. What does it feel like look like? What is it going to change for you to get that? And how can you honor where you want to be now?

00;12;09;16 - 00;12;26;12

Judy Hawley

Right. So that kind of process and then I also do a lot of different pieces of like letter writing or journaling to connect to the subcortical brain. That way I work with people who are ready to. Yes. Right.

00;12;26;14 - 00;12;34;29

Cherie Lindberg

Yes. That makes a big difference. Yes. Is there anything I haven't asked you that would be important you'd want to share with our listeners?

00;12;34;29 - 00;13;00;21

Judy Hawley

I would say that right now, there's so much going on in the world, in North America, but in the whole world. But if we begin to focus on all of that, we lose sight of where we want to be and who we really are. And so unplugging and really connecting with your internal light is so important right now.

00;13;00;21 - 00;13;15;00

Judy Hawley

And that's kind of the message that I've been receiving, is it's really important to just remain true to who you are and who you want to be, rather than focusing on the the lack and the issues that are happening.

00;13;15;03 - 00;13;35;10

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah, yeah, I it's hard because you want to be supportive and protective and all those kinds of things. And at the same time, if I'm a hot mess then I can't do that. I can't do those things. So I hear what you're saying is nurture ourselves and bring in our light and connect to spirit, and that'll guide us.

00;13;35;12 - 00;13;41;22

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah. You know, and help us. Yeah. So do you have any daily habits or so?

00;13;41;22 - 00;14;09;20

Judy Hawley

A couple of the things I manifested was children because I was told I couldn't have them. So I have a 12 year old that I had at 38 and a almost five year old that I had at 46. So I have a very busy life. And so it's so important to me to have my mornings. So I get up at about 4 or 430 and I meditate for about an hour, and I work on whatever my projects are.

00;14;09;23 - 00;14;24;19

Judy Hawley

I listen to a lot of bilateral stimulation music or meditations, affirmations, and I have that time to myself and it charges me for the day ahead. So that's definitely my biggest that I do.

00;14;24;24 - 00;14;48;13

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah. Wonderful. I have a similar habit. I always like to talk about habits or or practices we have. In the morning I come down, I put on the bilateral music, I get on a brain spot and then I after I'm done, like five, ten minutes just listening to my future self, I'll journal, write down and some things. So so we have we have some similar things that we do.

00;14;48;18 - 00;14;53;08

Judy Hawley

It's so hard. If I don't get that in the day I really notice the difference.

00;14;53;10 - 00;15;12;19

Cherie Lindberg

Yeah, it's a grounding point. It sounds like. Yeah, well, Judy, I want to thank you for coming on and sharing, and we will make sure we have all your socials connected to this podcast so that if people want to reach out to you and learn more about your your coaching, do you have. I just want to check in.

00;15;12;19 - 00;15;19;05

Cherie Lindberg

Do you have any other programs that you're doing as well, or is it on one work or group work that you're doing?

00;15;19;05 - 00;15;38;25

Judy Hawley

So I do one on one, but I'm also doing I'm working on a group right now. I'm taking people on the waitlist for ADHD and anxiety. So there's that. And as well I have a universal principles course that if people sign up for my newsletter, they can receive that.

00;15;38;27 - 00;15;45;15

Cherie Lindberg

Wonderful, wonderful. So we'll make sure we have all those connections for you. Thank you so much for being here. We appreciate it.

00;15;45;16 - 00;15;49;03

Judy Hawley

Thank you so much for having me.

00;15;49;05 - 00;16;13;29

Cherie Lindberg

And she shared about different ways that she's supporting people that are interested in going deeper and doing their work so that they can manifest the life of their dreams. We talked a little bit about some of the habits that might get you there, and also talking about just learning to go inside, and that at the core, it's all about connection.

00;16;13;29 - 00;16;40;07

Cherie Lindberg
