3 Things We Learned From This Episode

  • Put similar tasks together (13:19 - 14:11)

    Having a routine is key to us always being on task, and we can take this further by being intentional with our routine. When we can chunk a bunch of the same stuff together and do it all at once, our schedule will be more effective.

     

  • Different kinds of talent have different levels of risk (18:48 - 19:40)

    There are three types of people you can hire: proven talent, emerging talent and potential talent. All carry risk, but in different ways.

     

  • Change your mindset about accountability (22:26 - 25:03)

    Accountability doesn’t have to be something we view in a negative light, or as something punitive. It can actually be a positive thing. It helps us achieve our goals and get out of our own way.

 

Making a commitment to what we want to achieve for ourselves, our families and our team is the first step to achieving the results we want. It can be overwhelming to have people relying on us for leadership, but we can use this to inspire us instead of scare us. Business doesn’t always get easier, but as we start to believe more and more in ourselves and what we can do, it becomes manageable.
