Have you ever felt like you're the only one in the room not hearing the music? You look around and you see other women getting promptings, receiving revelation, finding direction, talking about their conversations with God.
But for you, it's just silence. Perhaps you're asking, why doesn't God speak to me?
And the fear in the back of your mind is that perhaps you're not worthy, or worse, that he doesn't care. Well, by the end of today's episode, you will understand the four reasons for silence and how to diagnose what is blocking your connection.
We're going to help you solve the pain of heavenly ghosting by identifying the difference between a busy mind and a closed door. We're moving from the frustration of crickets to a beautiful place of trusting his timing. Stay tuned. Ordinary women. Extraordinary faith.
When God calls, we say yes. Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
I'm your host, Tamara K. Anderson, and joining me today is Tiffany Fletcher of our Women warriors of Light Advisory Board. Today we're going to be very, very real about the secret season when the heavens feel like they are completely closed.
First, we're going to normalize the ebb and flow of a spiritual life, the reality that everyone, even and especially the most faithful experience periods of silence. Second, I'm going to share a powerful reminder from Hebrews about the consistency of Christ when our feelings tell us he's gone.
Third, we'll break down the four reasons for silence to help you troubleshoot your own heart. And finally, we'll talk about the casting out strategy, how to clear the adversary's chatter so that you can finally hear heaven's whisper.
But let's kick it off by talking about the spiritual ebb and flow. I think everybody's life ebbs and flows where we're totally tuned in to God. We might be hearing him really well.
And then we have a period where it's like crickets. You know, you're not hearing or receiving anything and you're wondering why. So, my friends, it's a rhythm, not a rejection.
But when we're in the middle of that ebb, our brains start telling us that God has changed or moved on. That is when we have to anchor ourselves in the truth of who he is.
There's a beautiful verse that reminds us of a key principle here in Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 8. It says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So he is there. He's always there, listening.
He's always ready to give you what you need. I Think sometimes we might not be asking the right questions. So, my friends, if he hasn't changed, then why is it so quiet?
In a recent episode, Tiffany Fletcher shared for brilliant reasons why we might feel a block with our communication with heaven. And I'm going to summarize them for you here today. First, the chatter.
Oh my goodness, guys, we live in a noisy world and sometimes the adversary is simply crowding out your mind with so much digital and mental noise that the still, small voice just can't get through. Second, an unaccepted answer. I have personal experience with this one.
Perhaps God has already given you an answ, but because it wasn't the yes that you wanted, you've put it on the shelf or you've stopped listening. He might simply be waiting for you to accept the last thing he said before he gives you the next thing.
This is especially hard because it sometimes requires us submitting to his will. And that's hard when it's something we don't want to do or experience or hear.
Tamara K. Anderson:And.
Tamara K. Anderson:And yes, ladies, it is hard when you're facing the death of a loved one or a life changing diagnosis and you don't want a no to be the answer. Number three. Sometimes the answer is not yet. Oof. That's a hard one too. It's hard to just wait in limbo and hold tight, isn't it?
But remember, perhaps you're in the waiting room because there are pieces of the puzzle that are moving that you simply really cannot see yet, and so your prayers can go towards that.
Lord, while I'm in waiting, please help me see what I can do or move other pieces of the puzzle so that I can gain some forward momentum again, or so that I can hear you more clearly and know my next step. The fourth tip is the conduct check. Sometimes there's a block because of something going on in our hearts.
Perhaps it's unresolved anger, a need for repentance, or or perhaps a refusal to forgive. God's spirit is sensitive. If we are driving it away with our conduct, we have to clear that path first.
And if you're not willing to do it, here's a simple prayer. I like to pray. Dear Lord, please help me with the desire to forgive or the desire to not be angry at this person anymore.
God can help change our hearts so that we can move past that he is mighty to change our minds and our heart.
One additional tip can be found In Matthew, chapter 13, verses 16 through 17, where it says, but blessed are your eyes because they see and your Ears because they hear for truly. I tell you, many prophets and righteous people have longed to see what you see, but did not see it. And hear what you did hear, but did not hear it.
Isn't that beautiful? My friends, ask God to give you eyes to see how he is showing up in your life at the end of each day, and then write it down.
Once we identify the reason, we have to take clear action to clear the channel. The reason is the chatter. We have to be bold about claiming our mental space and creating moments of silence.
Tiffany has a very specific way of handling that spiritual interference.
Tiffany Fletcher:The chatter is not necessarily outside in the world. It's also in our own mind, our own thoughts. Like, we can get really noisy inside of our head.
And the adversary is really good at trying to get that chatter in our head to be so loud that we can't hear the Spirit through that chatter.
And so sometimes for me, one of the best things that you could do is cast Satan's influence out and ask Heavenly Father to open up and protect that channel of communication. So, so that. And visualize the Savior standing next to you.
Visualize yourself kneeling before Heavenly Father when you pray, because that is how you were going to get the answers. You were. If you feel a block, it's because the adversary is there putting something in the way to block your communication with Heavenly Father.
I will literally close my eyes and focus on the Savior and imagine him standing before me and just saying, okay, help me in this situation. What can I do? Where can I go? How can I be of service to you? How can I be your hands?
And I think if we envision the Savior walking with us every day, if we envision having that conversation with him in our mind, it quiets our mind and it quiets the chatter because it focuses us on Him.
Tamara K. Anderson:So my friends, if you are in a season of silence, please know that God has not forgotten your name. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Whether you need to clear the chatter, accept a hard no, or just hold on through a limbo or not yet holding pattern, he is right there in the quiet with you. That I can promise you, because he's been with me through my quiet moments.
