Eric G.:

been finding over the year in:

Eric G.:

And one of them here that I just absolutely love are my friends over at sure Can.

Eric G.:

Yes, there is a safe gas can that actually works, that's durable, that doesn't drip gas all over everywhere.

Eric G.:

I don't know about you, but you go buy one of these new safety gas cans and they're junk.

Eric G.:

I get more gas on me on whatever I'm trying to fill up on the ground, on my clothes.

Eric G.:

They seem really dangerous until I got the sure Can.

Eric G.:

And this is something you should take a look at.

Eric G.:

And we're going to talk to them here a little bit about the product.

Eric G.:

This is something that's cool and they don't make it just for gasoline.

Eric G.:

And if you Want to find out more?

Eric G.:

I'm going to put links to all these project products on my website@aroundthehouse online.com so you can go over there and I'll have links over there.

Eric G.:

So don't worry about if you're driving around or if you listen to the podcast someplace, whether it's on the radio or the podcast.

Eric G.:

I'll have it over on the website and aroundthehouse online.com.

Eric G.:

all right, guys, let's get over to sure can and talk to these guys.

Eric G.:

This is something super cool.

Eric G.:

And everybody, whether you're using outdoor power equipment, ATVs, or even drinking water, they got a can for you.

Eric G.:

I get so excited when a new product comes on the market and absolutely changes something that's been completely broken for decades.

Eric G.:

I really want to introduce Brad from Shuriken.

Eric G.:

Welcome to around the House.

Brad:

Hey, Eric, thanks for having me, man.

Eric G.:

What got you into creating a gas can that actually works?

Brad:

I don't come from a plastics industry.

Brad:

I was a contractor for a lot of years, used a lot of gas cans.

Brad:

We do a lot of ATV and chainsaws and weed lacquers.

Brad:

Anything under the sun, we use them and just figure there had to be a better way.

Brad:

Came up with a concept and that that first sure can had a lot of wood in it because that's what I do.

Brad:

And so we screwed a lot of things together.

Brad:

And next thing, here we are with the shirt.

Eric G.:

Yeah.

Eric G.:

Because that's been the biggest problem with all the quote unquote safety cans that we've seen over the last 20 plus years is that the only thing in common was none of them worked well.

Eric G.:

And you came up with a wonderful solution, man.

Brad:

Well, thank you.

Brad:

Yeah, we.

Brad:

A lot of blood, sweat and tears to come up with with this gas can that actually works.

Brad:

And it had to be just right or else I didn't want to do it.

Brad:

At the very least, I thought, I'll have one for myself.

Brad:

Even if we don't sell these things, the EPA is just over regulated gas cans to the point that you spill far more than you ever did before they came into the picture.

Brad:

So we come up with something that's far better than.

Brad:

And even the old ones, you don't.

Eric G.:

Have to pour it nice.

Eric G.:

I love that you added all these different safety pieces into it.

Eric G.:

Of course, I'm sure you had to do that to meet all the regulations or exceed them.

Eric G.:

What are all the safety things that you included in the.

Eric G.:

Sure.

Eric G.:

Can you real quick?

Brad:

We got the.

Brad:

There's a dust cap on the Top so you don't ever get dunk down in your gas.

Eric G.:

It's got a.

Brad:

As part of the safety can, it's got a spark arrester in the spout.

Brad:

And that just protects people that are dumping gas on fires that shouldn't be that it keeps the flame from going up and blowing this camp.

Brad:

I've got a flame mitigation device in the neck so that if you're dumping it out the backside, that stops a flash that's coming in from the fill porch.

Brad:

The back burps automatically at 5 psi so it never swells up on you.

Brad:

Creates that pressure which that whoosh is always a problem as well.

Brad:

Dispenses fuel from the bottom so you're.

Brad:

You're far away from that ignition source.

Brad:

It's the vapors that cause an explosion.

Brad:

And so the sure can vents out the top here so you keep the vapors away from the hot engine.

Eric G.:

That is super smart because.

Eric G.:

Yeah, with all the new safety cans that we see on the market, doesn't really matter what brand.

Eric G.:

It always seems like your hand is right where the most dangerous spot is.

Eric G.:

And you guys have totally fixed that.

Eric G.:

Plus you made this out of a durable product as well.

Eric G.:

So it's not going to split open like the other ones do.

Brad:

Yeah, it's.

Brad:

Right now we're making these are six layers thick.

Brad:

So they're way, way more durable than the other cans.

Brad:

Are we testing?

Brad:

We've got some videos on our website where we roll them down a mountain.

Brad:

We drop them out of the truck going 30 miles an hour.

Brad:

And everything on the outside holds up.

Brad:

The can doesn't split open burst like all the others.

Brad:

Part of our testing, we freeze them to 40 below and then we drop them off of this mezzanine 20ft.

Brad:

We do that every day.

Brad:

Just to verify that all of our.

Brad:

Our processes are working right.

Brad:

The cans hold up.

Brad:

They're £40 and we'll drop them 20ft on concrete.

Eric G.:

Wow, that's super impressive.

Eric G.:

And I see that you make them not only for gasoline but for a bunch of different products out there.

Brad:

Yeah.

Brad:

We've got a utility can.

Brad:

Ours is different than most.

Brad:

Just wire utility jug that's got to spigot on shape that down.

Brad:

You open that up and it'll just run.

Brad:

So you can wash your hands on a job site.

Brad:

You have them for tailgating.

Brad:

I always have one in the backyard where I'm barbecuing.

Brad:

The kids can play in the water and they're not making a big giant nest because you can control it's 2 gallons or 5 gallons, whatever they have.

Brad:

So that's our utility.

Brad:

Can we have kerosene, diesel and regular gas and they all come in the two plus or the five gallon side.

Brad:

Is anything that you need to fulfill.

Eric G.:

One of the big problems I see out there as well with many of these you break something or you do something dumb with it we weren't supposed to do.

Eric G.:

And you can't get parts or parts available in case you do something crazy and drop it off the back of the truck and somebody hits it or something like that and it gets a part broken or parts available.

Brad:

Oh absolutely.

Brad:

Yeah, that's something we wanted to make sure.

Brad:

We're, we're a premium can and it costs a little bit more for premium product.

Brad:

But we made it so that everything on the outside of the can is replaceable.

Brad:

Everything from the caps, the spout, the thumb trigger, all of that's replaceable.

Brad:

If it's, if it's our fault that it breaks, we have a three year warranty.

Brad:

All you just call in to our website and you'll talk to a real human being.

Brad:

We'll make you happy before you hang up.

Brad:

So you don't have to worry about anything breaking on this can.

Brad:

If it's our fault we replace it.

Brad:

If it's your fault, we'll sell you a new part.

Eric G.:

Sounds simple.

Eric G.:

You guys have had quite the journey to get this far with Shark Tank and everything else.

Eric G.:

Can you tell us quickly how that went?

Brad:

The sharks were actually on.

Brad:

They were, they were the key.

Brad:

No speakers at one of the shows we went to.

Brad:

And so they pulled three products up on stage and did a mini Shark Tank and just went through and then chose our can.

Brad:

It's the best product and we have pictures with them and I don't think they're as mean as they see them on tv.

Brad:

They're actually very nice people.

Brad:

Yeah, it was fun.

Brad:

We won a lot of awards for innovation.

Brad:

We changed the game as far as that goes.

Brad:

But yeah, when we continue to improve we're constantly adding new products.

Brad:

We're coming up with a high flow version of the camp hopefully as well.

Brad:

Right now we flow at about 2 gallons a minute so we're not bad.

Brad:

You don't want it too fast if you're doing small machines or equipment.

Brad:

Yeah, we'll come up provide shortly.

Eric G.:

That's exciting.

Eric G.:

That's exciting.

Eric G.:

So the big question is where do people find these if they want to get one?

Brad:

Easiest place is probably just on our website.

Brad:

Sure can USA.com but you can get them in most retailers, Ace Hardware, tractor supply deal at best, Sam's Club, a lot of others.

Brad:

But yeah, just Google it.

Brad:

We have a storefinder or Google our website and we have a storefinder on our website if you want to find something close to you.

Eric G.:

Brad, thanks for taking the time today.

Eric G.:

I really like what you guys have created.

Eric G.:

We're sure can and you finally made something safe for gasoline and other products that's easy to use.

Eric G.:

All right, guys, I would not go over to like Amazon or Home Depot or wherever you're going to go to get one of these things.

Eric G.:

I would go over and get their Black Friday sale because if it's still on while you're listening to this, it's 25% off.

Eric G.:

And to get their Black Friday sales disco to sure can S u r e can USA.com and get that 25% off.

Eric G.:

You can't beat that.

Eric G.:

Around the House.

Eric G.:

We right back after these important messages.

Eric G.:

Don't change that title.

Eric G.:

What's up?

Eric G.:

This is Sticks it in you and Satchel from Steel Panther and you are.

Speaker B:

Listening to around the House with Eric.

Eric G.:

G.

Eric G.:

Yeah, we love Eric G.

Eric G.:

And you should too.

Eric G.:

1987.

Eric G.:

I never want to leave you when you told me I was in.

Eric G.:

Welcome back to the Round the house show.

Eric G.:

Now let's get back to my favorite workwear company where it's made in USA all day long.

Eric G.:

1620 Workwear.

Eric G.:

an Amazing Workwear Company,:

Eric G.:

You gotta check this stuff out.

Eric G.:

Welcome to around the House, brother.

Speaker B:

Right on.

Eric G.:

Awesome.

Speaker B:

To be honest.

Eric G.:

Thanks, man.

Eric G.:

Well, you guys are making some of the highest quality made in America clothes for people out there that work for a living or just like to wear good quality stuff that's gonna last.

Eric G.:

What got you started in this?

Speaker B:

Yeah, great question.

Speaker B:

My business partner, I have known each other for a long time.

Speaker B:

We both come from the outdoor industry, some action sports, outdoor climbing.

Speaker B:

But I grew up in a real blue collar family.

Speaker B:

My dad's a builder, my brother was a builder and he moved on to be a golf course superintendent.

Speaker B:

Ted's dad was a blue collar guy and just we grew up with all these guys.

Speaker B:

We were on this space.

Speaker B:

We'd always want to start a brand together.

Speaker B:

We'd see each other kind of once a year at some of the international trade shows and we got to kick around some ideas and where we saw some opportunity.

Speaker B:

Because listen, in the modern era, it's tough to start a brand, it's tough to start a company.

Speaker B:

A lot of things have Been done and done over.

Speaker B:

It's even tough to find a name and even trademark things.

Speaker B:

But where we saw a gap was just in workwear.

Speaker B:

We saw blue collar and tradesmen finally getting the respect that they deserve and getting paid what they needed to pay.

Speaker B:

There was a kind of a big cultural shift kind of happened around the space.

Speaker B:

And a lot of my friends in service based businesses, a lot of my friends who were builders, they were just having some of the better years they ever had.

Speaker B:

But a lot of the complaints were that workwear was just kind of like devalued, low quality, they couldn't really find what they were looking for.

Speaker B:

So we went and spent some time on some job sites.

Speaker B:

We saw a lot of guys wearing workaround products.

Speaker B:

They were wearing stuff from outdoor brands, stuff from like golf brands.

Speaker B:

Like they couldn't find what they really needed.

Speaker B:

So we said to ourselves, hey, listen, there's an opportunity to go premium this category.

Speaker B:

There's no real premium player in the category.

Speaker B:

Filson's kind of moved on.

Speaker B:

They're doing their own thing.

Speaker B:

They're not really in the workwear space.

Speaker B:

And what we see is prices getting lower and lower and lower.

Speaker B:

And we see guys going through 6, 8, 9 pairs of pants a year and not really noticing it because the price point is so small.

Speaker B:

So we thought there was a way to do it sustainably and we really wanted to make things here in the US we both had a lot of experience, experience making stuff overseas, really wanted to make stuff here in the US we want to make just better premium stuff that lasted longer because arguably you could say that workwear is probably as wasteful as fast fashion in terms of, like, how quick the stuff winds up in the landfill.

Speaker B:

So we're also, we're both outdoors man.

Speaker B:

You have to be aware of this stuff if you're starting a brand, at least in our opinions.

Speaker B:

In the modern world, you just can't import some other, some widget and sell it on Amazon and feel good about yourself.

Speaker B:

At least.

Speaker B:

We couldn't.

Speaker B:

And we wanted to sleep well at night.

Speaker B:

So we got together in:

Speaker B:

We.

Speaker B:

We set up an office in my old man's barn in Massachusetts with no heat, no run water, and the computers wouldn't start up in January.

Speaker B:

But we came up with a collection, just a launch collection.

Speaker B:

It was 100 pairs of two styles of pants.

Speaker B:

And to be honest, the price point was outrageous.

Speaker B:

It's nothing that the category had really ever seen.

Speaker B:

But we sold out of that collection in the first week.

Speaker B:

So we said, okay, there's something here.

Speaker B:

These guys, they want something they're buying best in class in tools and in boots.

Speaker B:

So let's, let's get to work giving them what they need.

Eric G.:

Yeah, you'll see a carpenter go out and buy a $175 titanium hammer, right?

Eric G.:

And you can go down to Home depot and buy one for 14.

Speaker B:

It's wild.

Speaker B:

And I think like it's not in our backyard.

Speaker B:

I always say that American made is the real fair trade because we just have such astringent restrictions in terms of environmental restrictions.

Speaker B:

And thank God that we do.

Speaker B:

But it's just, it allows like other places in the world just to be just destroyed.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So I think as, as at least in our world, we like to, you know, really take a look at where we're making stuff, how we're making stuff.

Speaker B:

We hope that the end consumer kind of looks at that because at the end of the day it is unsustainable.

Speaker B:

There's places in, around Bangladesh that are just dead zone rivers and, and all these kind of things.

Speaker B:

And I think you gotta be aware of what's going on.

Speaker B:

Just cause you don't see it every day, you don't wake up, you don't see it like in your backyard, doesn't mean it's not happening.

Speaker B:

And like everything's really connected.

Speaker B:

It is one planet.

Speaker B:

The water cycle is what it is globally.

Speaker B:

And we want to do what's right and we believe making stuff in America is the right thing.

Eric G.:

And you're making good quality stuff.

Eric G.:

Made in America is awesome.

Eric G.:

And I always support that.

Eric G.:

And that's one of the first things when I see something, I'm like, all right, I'm automatically attracted to it.

Eric G.:

But outside of that, you got to have the right quality materials and of course the design that goes with it for sure.

Speaker B:

I'm really fortunate to have a great business partner.

Speaker B:

He's a savant.

Speaker B:

He actually lived in mainland China for five years.

Speaker B:

So it's a really interesting story where he took a lot of his knowledge and a lot of his skills back.

Speaker B:

ng, we started doing stuff in:

Speaker B:

There's not, it's difficult to get one place to do zippers and buttons, right?

Speaker B:

There's not a lot of places to do tape seams.

Speaker B:

There's a few companies that are doing great in the US but we had to really navigate it from a contract manufacturing standpoint because we're just two guys with not a lot of capital.

Speaker B:

And so I witnessed firsthand my business partner Ted, really coaching up a lot of these places and bringing a lot of this knowledge from Asia back to the US and then finding some of the best fabrics.

Speaker B:

He, he worked with some fabrics in China that were imported from the U.S.

Speaker B:

we all the cotton is still grown here.

Speaker B:

Some of the best fabrics are still made here.

Speaker B:

We have one pant, I think, I believe it's one of the pants that you actually wear a little bit of tweed where that fabric is actually it's milled in Fall river and it's sewn here in Massachusetts.

Speaker B:

So it's 100% made in New England product.

Speaker B:

And we ship it out of England.

Speaker B:

So the footprint of it's really small and the quality is just outstanding.

Speaker B:

Like Tweeve and Gearing Tree Coat is just an amazing fabric maker here in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Speaker B:

We have a long term partnership.

Eric G.:

Man, that is awesome.

Eric G.:

And if anybody out there is tuning in on these pants, holy smokes.

Eric G.:

These are the most durable and the most comfortable pair I've had.

Eric G.:

And it's, it's not close and they fit right.

Eric G.:

You can move around in them and you can wear them out on a hard day's work.

Eric G.:

And they look like they're brand new afterwards, which is not what at your, you grab off the store of your local clothing store that you see of the stuff there, of the main brands that you see out there, of the major work companies.

Eric G.:

It's completely different.

Eric G.:

And I say that as a user.

Speaker B:

That's cool to hear.

Speaker B:

I think still, like we were just out at Husker Fest in Nebraska, really great big farming show.

Speaker B:

And 99% of the guys out there in square toe cowboy boots and jeans.

Speaker B:

And I think like you go around to most job sites here in the U.S.

Speaker B:

jeans are still the prevalent thing.

Speaker B:

Cotton denim is just what's known on the job site.

Speaker B:

It's durable, but it's not super functional.

Speaker B:

It's getting less durable over the years because denim is a harder thing to come by.

Speaker B:

Stays wet, it's not great in heat, it doesn't function.

Speaker B:

But what we found as our customer base started to grow is a lot of these guys, they're wearing Sicko when they're hunting, they're wearing Climb when they're on their ski mobile or their motorcycle, they're wearing Gore Tex when they're snowboarding skiing with their family.

Speaker B:

They understand technical fabric.

Speaker B:

They just never really use it in the job site because of the mentality that, well, I'm just going to destroy it in the job.

Speaker B:

Why would I wear stuff that's nice and expensive?

Speaker B:

But you got to think that this is how you feed your family.

Speaker B:

You're spending 40, 50, 60 hours a week in it.

Speaker B:

It's just going to really benefit how you feel.

Speaker B:

The other day I've had so many customers, they can be a little older, whatever or even younger.

Speaker B:

They come in after wearing that tweed pant for a day and just man, I can notice at the end of the day the fatigue reduction, how much easier it is to move on it just like how comfortable it is.

Speaker B:

And listen, I think if you're spending really good money on thorough good boots or a red wing boot or spending really good money on tools or snap on tool, you wear an occidental leather tool belt.

Speaker B:

If you're using the best stuff and other categories around your job, it only makes sense to take a look at what we're doing as the premium player in the space.

Speaker B:

And we're not for everyone.

Speaker B:

We never really built it to be for everyone but we really built it for the guys that want to wear the best stuff and appreciate and value what we're doing.

Speaker B:

Really appreciate it.

Speaker B:

Thank you so much for having us on.

Speaker B:

want to learn any more about:

Speaker B:

It's Josh:

Speaker B:

I head up like our B2B and Enterprise program.

Speaker B:

So like logo wear for crews and like it's very low minimums, 12 pieces.

Speaker B:

Work with some of the biggest companies the world and work with my buddy's company down the street.

Speaker B:

So if you want to get better, longer lasting stuff for your guys this far, some holiday gifts, you know, keep this in mind.

Speaker B:

We'll get you the best deal we can and it's just, it's an honor to be on here Eric.

Speaker B:

Appreciate what you do and thanks so much for taking the time to get us out there, man.

Eric G.:

Thanks Josh.

Eric G.:

I love supporting Made in America stuff like this and you guys are just crushing it as far as making beautiful clothing that's made for the job site.

Eric G.:

And that's the quality you could take out to dinner afterwards if you kept it clean during the day.

Eric G.:

To place your order head to:

Eric G.:

We'll be right back.

Eric G.:

Hey, this is Ron Kiel, the metal cowboy from Kiel, the Ron Kiel band and Steeler.

Eric G.:

We are rocking around the house with Eric G.

Eric G.:

Ray is your best.

Eric G.:

Thank you welcome back to the around the House show, the next generation of home improvement.

Eric G.:

I'm Eric G.

Eric G.:

Thanks for joining me today.

Eric G.:

We've been talking about Black Friday deals and great products out there for the garage, home shop, barbecue, cooking, whatever, and trying to find you the best stuff that is available out there for your projects.

Eric G.:

We're just out there having fun.

Eric G.:

If you want to find out more about us and the list here of all the information that I'm going to be sharing up today on these episodes, head to around the house online.com and of course, we are brought to you by our friends over our great sponsors at Monument Grill.

Eric G.:

If you want to check out a brand new grill maybe for you, your family, your friends or whoever, check them out@moneymcgrills.com and they have 155 bucks off@moneymcgrills.com so check it out if you're in the need of a new barbecue.

Eric G.:

Well, this next one here is a great product.

Eric G.:

And if you're tackling small or big projects and if you're trying to fasten two things together, I want to introduce you to the brand surebonder.

Eric G.:

And it might not be a brand that you're familiar with, but these guys have staplers, hot glue guns, and they've been around.

Eric G.:

They're the original since:

Eric G.:

They have cordless ones.

Eric G.:

They have stuff that, you know, bonds together.

Eric G.:

Whether you want something that's going to bond fast, be flexible, slower, set.

Eric G.:

If you're looking for hot glue for a project, I mean, they use this stuff commercially.

Eric G.:

It is great stuff out there.

Eric G.:

And so we're going to talk to them here in a minute.

Eric G.:

And coming up, we've got even more stuff to talk about.

Eric G.:

And I tell you what, we have a lot of fun on this show talking about great products for you out there.

Eric G.:

And this one's kind of for you guys just to expose you to all the cool things that I have run into this year and the products that I love to work with.

Eric G.:

And before we go to that, I want to mention one more product out there we didn't have time to fit in, but it is IQ Vice.

Eric G.:

If you're looking for a bench vice for your shop, there's a bunch of cheap knockoff ones on Amazon to don't get out there because they're going to break.

Eric G.:

They're not going to have all the accessories.

Eric G.:

And when it doesn't work for you in six months, you're not going to enjoy it.

Eric G.:

So you want to go for the original this is an articulating vice.

Eric G.:

You can put anything from a bicycle to a guitar to your word project, whatever you're working on.

Eric G.:

That is a great one.

Eric G.:

So check out IQ Vice.

Eric G.:

They're about 200 and I think about 279 out there.

Eric G.:

There might be some Black Friday sales out there, but take a look at these guys.

Eric G.:

Maybe it's for mom, maybe it's for dad, maybe it's for a family member.

Eric G.:

But if they're looking for something for the workbench, it is a great one.

Eric G.:

I have one here in my shop that I use all the time.

Eric G.:

It is something that makes life way easier.

Eric G.:

All right, now let's get over to my buddies at surebonder.

Eric G.:

This is a great product you need for your shop.

Eric G.:

OGs in the game out there that have been just driving this industry.

Eric G.:

Insurebonder is one of them.

Eric G.:

Brad, welcome to around the House.

Speaker D:

Thanks, Eric.

Speaker D:

Thanks for having us on, man.

Eric G.:

I love what you guys are doing with the hot glue melt and all your staplers and all the different things for fastening stuff.

Eric G.:

And you're right here in the great.

Speaker D:

Old USA that we are right in Illinois.

Eric G.:

So what got you guys started with this?

Eric G.:

Because that was before my time, even in this world.

Speaker D:

andpa started the business in:

Speaker D:

And now we're in a 50,000 square foot facility with 100 employees and six extruding lines.

Speaker D:

And we're cranking away millions of pounds of glue each year, man.

Eric G.:

And it is high quality stuff.

Eric G.:

I've used it before and absolutely enjoyed it.

Eric G.:

And it's one of those things you get what you pay for versus getting some of the stuff that's the knockoffs on Amazon, man.

Eric G.:

I just love what you guys are doing.

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

We take pride in product innovation.

Speaker D:

We listen to the customers out there, what their needs are.

Speaker D:

We try to incorporate it into our new technology.

Eric G.:

Man, that is great.

Eric G.:

So what do you want to talk about today?

Speaker D:

I guess we'll start off with our trigger fire staple gun.

Speaker D:

This is one of our patented products.

Speaker D:

And what makes it unique is just like any old staple gun, you can squeeze the handle and set the staple.

Speaker D:

You turn this knob to trigger mode.

Speaker D:

It presets it.

Speaker D:

And if you're in an awkward position or if you're holding something or up on a ladder, it sometimes it's awkward to staple.

Speaker D:

All you have to do is pull that trigger to set the staple.

Speaker D:

It is awesome.

Eric G.:

In a tight space, maybe you're in between studs.

Eric G.:

You're trying to staple something up and you can't even get your hand in there.

Eric G.:

That fixes that.

Eric G.:

I've never seen that before.

Eric G.:

That's awesome.

Speaker D:

Yep.

Speaker D:

Something we came out with a couple years ago.

Speaker D:

It also has a couple features too, where it has an adjustable depth drive so you can adjust the force if you're going into hardwood or softwood, or maybe sometimes you don't want to fully penetrate whatever you're stapling up like a sheet of plastic or paper.

Speaker D:

It has a cool lock away feature that keeps everything confined when you're putting it into your toolbox.

Speaker D:

And it's easy drop in loading, no plunger to deal with.

Speaker D:

Just simple, easy, innovative and cool colors.

Eric G.:

Yeah, that is awesome.

Eric G.:

And I love that because if you put it in the back of your tool belt or something, you're not fighting with that handle or staple on the side of your tool belt trying to get it back in there again.

Speaker D:

Exactly, exactly.

Eric G.:

And then of course, you guys have just dominated the hot glue industry out there with the latest and greatest.

Eric G.:

And it seems like you guys are always five steps ahead of everybody else.

Speaker D:

We're trying to.

Speaker D:

One of our newest products that we have is our cordless glue gun that is battery operated.

Speaker D:

We built it around the Ryobi platform because it's an inexpensive platform that offers, you know, high quality.

Speaker D:

But if you're not a Ryobi person, we offer these adapters for Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Ridgid, Craftsman, and who's it.

Speaker D:

Bosch is the last.

Eric G.:

Nice.

Speaker D:

So it simply just clicks in.

Speaker D:

You slide your battery in, flip on the on switch, and you got a 60 watt cordless professional hot glue gun ready to go.

Eric G.:

Man, that is great because sometimes those cords and extension cords and everything else are a fight.

Eric G.:

Especially when you're on the job site working someplace.

Speaker D:

Exactly.

Speaker D:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

This gives you the freedom to go around, get up on the roof, go around the yard, in the garage, wherever you need to go.

Eric G.:

Man, that, that is the easy button right there.

Eric G.:

Because yeah, it's never, it seems with the plugs, it's never where you want it to be.

Eric G.:

You're out someplace or you're now trying to, trying to get the cord all the way out there.

Eric G.:

Or even worse, you're trying to drag, like you said, the cord on the roof to do something more.

Eric G.:

The second story.

Speaker D:

Exactly.

Eric G.:

That is great.

Eric G.:

And then you guys have so many different glues out there as well.

Eric G.:

That's what I love about it.

Eric G.:

And that's one of the things I think is the biggest misconception with the whole format of hot glue is there are so many low temp, high temp construction adhesives, all the different things out there for every project.

Eric G.:

And there's a lot of different glues.

Speaker D:

Yes, yes, we have.

Speaker D:

Our general purpose is the most popular by far.

Speaker D:

A big misconception in the hot melt industry is that's a temporary bond.

Speaker D:

It's not permanent.

Speaker D:

But we have over 25 unique formulas.

Speaker D:

And what we're showing here today is our two construction adhesives, our 1 minute and 3 minute open time hot melt glue sticks that are perfect for those hard to bond places.

Speaker D:

The longer open time gives you the ability to glue larger surfaces.

Speaker D:

When you're dealing with hot glue, you're gluing, it starts to cool, you're rushing, it could be sometimes a mess.

Speaker D:

This gives you three minutes of open time so that you can do long boards, you can do big surface areas on plywood if you're gluing things on that side.

Speaker D:

But it just gives you the versatility and the bond is permanent, it's strong, and it's way above and beyond what's typically out there.

Eric G.:

Man, that is great.

Eric G.:

You're right.

Eric G.:

Because depending on the weather and what your situation is, even if you're working inside, just doing stair treads like I was last week, it's one of those things that I'm sitting there working on it and I'm like, all right, this construction adhesive is going to take now, what, six hours to set up?

Eric G.:

And now I'm nailing it and using the construction adhesive just to hold it together so I can move on.

Eric G.:

That's the perfect piece for that.

Speaker D:

Yep.

Speaker D:

The benefit of hot glue is within a couple minutes, that thing is dried, ready to go strong, and there's no clamping, no waiting, none of that necessary.

Eric G.:

Man, that is great.

Eric G.:

So where do people find out more information with you guys?

Eric G.:

Because I know you guys have such a depth of product out there.

Eric G.:

There's a lot of stuff out there that people don't even know exist.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

For the full catalog, we have everything on surebonder.com we have everything on Amazon.

Speaker D:

If you want to look at us at different retailers, we're in Lowe's, Menards, a couple products in Home Depot, and then we also have a whole craft division, if that's what you're into.

Speaker D:

We sell the Michaels, Joanne's, hobby lobby, Walmart, etc.

Eric G.:

Yeah, it's amazing.

Eric G.:

I can't believe how many times I've seen in industrial applications like cabinet shops and things like that your hot glue guns in the industrial world because yeah, it's actually that strong and it holds things together.

Speaker D:

Yep.

Speaker D:

Yeah.

Speaker D:

We focus on corrugated carton sealing, product assembly, hair extension.

Speaker D:

There's so many different applications out there.

Speaker D:

It's endless.

Speaker D:

So we have the formula for what you need and if hot glue is a solution, we're ready to work with you.

Eric G.:

Thanks for coming on today, Brad.

Eric G.:

Is there anything we missed today?

Speaker D:

Just look for the black and green in stores and we got good quality products.

Speaker D:

And thank you for having us on, Eric.

Speaker D:

We appreciate it.

Eric G.:

Thanks again, man.

Eric G.:

Guys, this is some great stuff.

Eric G.:

And if you're looking for the OG and hot glue, this is it.

Eric G.:

To find links to this product and many other ones, head over to aroundthehouse online.com don't change that dial around the House.

Eric G.:

We'll be right back after these very important messages from our sponsors.

Eric G.:

Welcome back to the around the House show, the next generation of home improvement.

Eric G.:

Thanks for joining me today.

Eric G.:

I'm Eric G.

Eric G.:

We've been talking about some of my favorite gift ideas for Black Friday and just for holiday gift giving.

Eric G.:

And this next one here is a dear friend of the show and they were just on a few weeks ago but I wanted to highlight them because for that contractor, woodworker, outdoor landscaper, DIYer Grabo has got some amazing tools to help you carry, move and lift things.

Eric G.:

And this is something that is super important for your shop.

Eric G.:

Whether you're handling glass, sheets of plywood, drywall, whatever.

Eric G.:

It makes it so you don't have to grip a hold of stuff and let the tool do the work is not only do they have the Grabo ones, but if you're a DeWalt user, they teamed up with DeWalt and have one that works on the DeWalt battery platform which means you get to have that DeWalt yellow with the black with a Grabo tool that fits onto your platform, which is pretty darn exciting.

Eric G.:

So we'll talk to my buddy Dean Patton here about that.

Eric G.:

And don't forget any of these items we're talking about today on the two hour show.

Eric G.:

Make sure you head over to around the House online and I'm going to have the links to all these over here so you can find them and hopefully be able to save you some money.

Eric G.:

I'm going to try to find all the Black Friday deals for these, the best ones and put them over there at around the house online.com to find out more.

Eric G.:

That's where you're going to have to go and make sure that you check out if you're a contractor and you've been listening to this.

Eric G.:

We just rebooted our around the house pro insider podcast.

Eric G.:

So just look out for around the House pro Insider on your favorite podcast player.

Eric G.:

Make sure you subscribe because we're doing some exclusive stuff over there for the people in the trades.

Eric G.:

Now let's get back to our friend Dane Patton and Grabo, my good, good friend Dane Patton from Grabo.

Eric G.:

Welcome finally to around the House brother.

Speaker E:

Yeah, thanks for having us, man.

Eric G.:

Ah, this has been great.

Eric G.:

I have been a fan of you guys and your tools for a number of years.

Eric G.:

Talk about one tool that somehow nobody else made that changed how you handle materials and you guys have been knocking it out of the park.

Speaker E:

Appreciate that.

Eric G.:

Well, let's talk about for the people that are going, what is Grabo?

Eric G.:

Let's.

Eric G.:

Let's answer that one right off the bat for them so they understand what we're talking about.

Speaker E:

Well, Grabo is simply a vacuum lifting tool.

Speaker E:

It's portable lithium ion battery.

Speaker E:

So you don't have a corded line with you.

Speaker E:

What sets us apart from your traditional suction cups would be that it works on semi porous and textured materials.

Eric G.:

Very cool.

Eric G.:

e out on the Oregon coast and:

Eric G.:

And we had windows that were single pane non safety glass that were about 36 inches wide and about 84 inches tall.

Eric G.:

And we were so worried about breaking these things.

Eric G.:

They were going on the dumpster, but I didn't want to wear it.

Speaker E:

Yeah, exactly.

Eric G.:

And oh man, that, that was a life changer.

Eric G.:

As well as grabbing just a sheet of OSB and throwing it up someplace over my head.

Eric G.:

It makes it so much easier to do something that simple and it really changes how you handle materials.

Eric G.:

And I think what's cool about it is what you brought up there is semi rough materials.

Eric G.:

It has no problem with it.

Speaker E:

Yeah, the, the pain point a lot of installers that we find or people just working around their house is that it's always going to be awkward.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

You got to carry a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood or drywall or something like heavy.

Speaker E:

So you're doing some demolition.

Speaker E:

You got these chunks of concret concrete.

Speaker E:

It's always by hand because the traditional suction cups were always just pump cups and they worked on very, very, very smooth, very flat surfaces only.

Speaker E:

And even those had a large margin for error.

Speaker E:

Right?

Eric G.:

Yeah, they did so.

Speaker E:

So our founder, Anemo, was rock climbing one day and thought, why can't there be something that holds onto textured materials and that spawned Grabo.

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

And we've just been going from there.

Speaker E:

We launched in:

Speaker E:

You've been visible for a long time through that process of the ups and downs and the wild nature.

Speaker E:

It's been.

Eric G.:

Yeah, you guys have been on a wild ride.

Eric G.:

And now I noticed all over my social media, some branding from your typical black to some yellow on that thing.

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

So we were approached by Stanley Black Decker, I want to say, a couple years ago right after.

Speaker E:

Probably about a year after I started with the company.

Speaker E:

So I know we've been in talks for a while with them, but yeah, yeah, we just launched or they launched a co brand Grabo, the DeWalt branded.

Speaker E:

So, yeah, it was a long time in the making.

Speaker E:

It's really good for visibility.

Speaker E:

It's really good for just brand awareness and reliability.

Eric G.:

Right.

Speaker E:

So if DeWalt has one, then, okay, this company that manufactures for them must be reliable as well.

Eric G.:

No kidding.

Eric G.:

And here's the cool thing that I noticed, and this is something rare in the tool industry, is they actually put your name on it.

Eric G.:

They're not shy of saying, hey, this is a grabo that just works with our battery platform, which I think is pretty badass.

Speaker E:

Yeah, exactly right.

Speaker E:

And we.

Speaker E:

We've only tipped, like, touched the tip of the iceberg as far as brand awareness for Grabo itself.

Speaker E:

Even though we're in Lowe's with our original Grabo classic model, we're about to launch in Q1 with Lowe's with our AutoVac, which is a glass cup that's also electric.

Speaker E:

But yeah, just having having a partner like DeWalt trusts in US enough to put our name on their brand with their platforms and distribution channels is just.

Speaker E:

It's a big.

Speaker E:

It's a big step and it's a big trust value.

Eric G.:

Oh, yeah.

Eric G.:

Nothing against DeWalt at all, but you have to trust putting your name on their brand too, because you guys do some great work.

Eric G.:

And it's been so fun watching people in the trades out there, that material handle every day, get it in their hands, use it.

Eric G.:

I'm watching tile and stuff worldwide, pick this stuff up and go, oh, my gosh, this is a game changer.

Eric G.:

Especially like with the larger format tiles, people putting on floors and all of that, where all of a sudden you're having to set down On a job site, maybe a 30 by 48 or a 48 by 48 inch, like a half sheet of plywood, that's a panel of tile to set these things in.

Eric G.:

And you're not grabbing that with your fingers and dropping it down without taking a finger off.

Speaker E:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker E:

So again, there's a lot of pain points in all these, all these different trade installation, end user jobs.

Speaker E:

And one of them is just efficiency and ease of use.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

So you have, at least, in, at least America we've seen tiles are especially residential tile.

Speaker E:

They're only getting bigger.

Speaker E:

We're not getting down to 8 inch tiles anymore.

Speaker E:

They're going to be 2 by 4.

Speaker E:

2 by 4 foot is now the.

Eric G.:

Kind of the standard where the industry standard.

Speaker E:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker E:

So just to make it, to make it a lot easier, to give you peace of mind that you're not gonna have that suction cup slip off and break that tile.

Speaker E:

It's just a, it's a good peace of mind.

Speaker E:

to us first probably in like:

Speaker E:

This is amazing.

Speaker E:

It's gonna make our jobs go faster, go safer, and just be more efficient.

Speaker E:

So.

Eric G.:

Exactly.

Eric G.:

And that's, and that's what's really fun with that, is watching the trades get it.

Eric G.:

I'm sure the framers now are figuring out, wait a minute, I can, I can put stuff over my head now.

Eric G.:

So much easier.

Eric G.:

The older I get, the less I like grabbing out 48 inches with a piece of plywood over me and trying to guide that.

Eric G.:

And I tell you what, anytime that I'm working on a roof or even putting up any kind of a panel or drywall over my head, that is the easy way to do it.

Eric G.:

And it's a heck of a lot easier on your body too.

Eric G.:

And that's.

Eric G.:

I think that's one thing for the homeowner and even the DIYer, where this makes so much sense is taking care of your body, making sure that you've got the right ergonomics to tackle a project so you're not hurting later or getting hurt yourself.

Eric G.:

And this is such a convenient tool to be able to place your hands where's where it's comfortable for you to do a project.

Eric G.:

And it doesn't matter if you're lifting a piece of concrete paver up or if you're hanging a big sheet of drywall over your head, being able to place your hands where it's comfortable for you and where you're safest.

Eric G.:

It's a huge safety tool outside of a material handler.

Speaker E:

Right?

Speaker E:

Yeah.

Speaker E:

So the three value propositions that I pull out of this tool and that I talk to people at trade shows or, you know, on social media about is those three things.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

So we want to help installers work faster, safer, and more efficiently.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

So for a myriad of reasons for each one of those, just like you said, the trades now are becoming almost a lifestyle for a lot of people.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

There's influencers, where we know a lot of them.

Speaker E:

You're technically one of them.

Speaker E:

But it's just becoming this thing where you want to be proud of what you do and you don't want to burn out and you don't want to resent the 9 to 5.

Speaker E:

Right.

Speaker E:

So if we could help an installer say, okay, it's not as hard now.

Speaker E:

My body doesn't hurt as much.

Speaker E:

I don't have to spend my days off recuperating from my work week just to get right back to my work week.

Speaker E:

Then I think that's a win for everybody.

Speaker E:

They're gonna.

Speaker E:

It just builds an ecosystem of everybody starts winning.

Eric G.:

Yeah.

Eric G.:

And the other thing is, you could work so much more efficiently.

Eric G.:

I've seen guys with a grabo in each hand grabbing like concrete paver blocks and carrying them like a suitcase, walking across the job site where before they were holding one with two hands like this, tearing gloves up, doing all the stuff, trying to grip it with the side of their hands.

Eric G.:

And it is just so much more efficient.

Eric G.:

And that's a wrap, guys, for our Black Friday, you know, special here for Thanksgiving week.

Eric G.:

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving week holiday.

Eric G.:

Spend some time with the family and friends.

Eric G.:

Enjoy it, have a good time.
