Shownotes
In this episode of The 411 Live, we are joined by Simmone Kilgore, a trauma therapist.
Trauma is a wound that nobody can see. Traumatic memories are disorganized in our brain and they are all over the place. They’re hidden for our safety and our survival but they can come out and show up at any time. We have to understand the way we are wired and understanding the circuitry, the wiring, how your brain tells your body what to do and how to respond. This is a very important step in the journey of healing. The bravery comes in when you first say, I want to heal.
As we continue to embark on the discovery of how trauma affects sex trafficking victims and other people who experience trauma, we also take a look at how they can recover and heal. Simmone Kilgore says, “Trauma affects everyone and you don’t have to be a victim of sex trafficking to have experienced some sort of trauma. Listen along as Simmone Kilgore explains the three phases of trauma recovery. This is The 411 Live. Real People. Real Talk.
