Dr. Jim contrasts which scandals get amplified in public discourse and which ones get buried when the people in power benefit from the silence.
Some scandals matter more than others, at least in the eyes of the political class and the media machine around it. He contrasts the outrage over a $250 million fraud case in Minnesota with what he frames as a far larger and less-discussed Pentagon spending scandal under Pete Hegseth, using that gap to argue that “waste, fraud, and abuse” is often just branding for selective outrage.

[:
[00:00:03] what we've seen recently in the news is the Republican party and MAGA in particular, and especially the Diapered Orange dementia patient, completely lose their minds over a $250 million charity scandal. That's plaguing the state of Minnesota.
[:
[00:00:31] but it served the necessary purpose for them to demonize a population as a justification for storming that city and that state with mass.
[:
[00:00:52] and the private prison system who have been massive funders of this regime. So this isn't about the safety of [00:01:00] the American citizen or even fiscal responsibility.
[:
[00:01:07] Now, while that scandal. Received a lot of attention and deservedly so. $250 million in fraud is no laughing matter. You know what didn't happen?
[:
[00:01:35] Pentagon Funds under the leadership of Pete Hegseth,
[:
[00:01:58] After all, his biggest claim to [00:02:00] fame was being a weekend host on Fox News. He was never able to successfully run anything in the military or in the private sector, and when he trotted up to Capitol Hill for confirmation, he already had a laundry list of issues. Trailing behind him and that laundry list included a severe drinking problem, sexually inappropriate behavior.
[:
[00:02:31] This is a guy who ran a charity and left the charity so financially mismanaged that he racked up $400,000 of debt before he was fired. And part of the reason why he was fired was because he was taking charity funds and using it for outings at strip clubs and heavy drinking.
[:
[00:03:17] so now you have a clearer picture of who Hegseth is. He is just like every other mediocre person in this regime. Hegseth fits in perfectly with everyone else in this regime. They're unqualified, uneducated. They have a track record for abuse and a track record for financial mismanagement, which brings us to what he's been up to in the Pentagon.
[:
[00:03:51] But you notice how everyone on the right wing is mysteriously silent about the Pentagon spending almost $94 [00:04:00] billion in the last fiscal year, . In September of 2025, hegseth and the Pentagon spent $93.4 billion spent on grants and contracts. Now, that number accounts for the largest amount of spending in any year since at least 2008. And what's interesting is that the spending spree was all concentrated in September alone.
[:
[00:04:49] When you look at some of the expenditures that have been authorized by Hegseth, it starts to paint a picture of a bunch of drunken sailors on a spending spree, [00:05:00] and when it comes to luxury items like furniture, heg set's, DOD spent $257 million just in September, which represents a 564% increase above what is typical in that month.
[:
[00:05:34] Then when you look at the food bill, it's quite a spread that they're paying for. The Pentagon spent $2 million on Alaskan King crab in September, and it's the fifth time since this regime has been in charge that they spent more than $2 million on King Crab in a single month. And the only other time that it's happened.
[:
[00:05:57] On top of that, the Pentagon [00:06:00] spent $6.9 million on lobster tails. It's not an isolated incident. This has been something that's typical under he's lead in 2025. The DOD spent 7 $0.4 million in four separate months on lobster tails. And to put that into perspective, most Americans are trying to figure out how to stretch a single dollar and shifting their buying decisions to Costco and Aldi to make ends meet.
[:
[00:06:41] But when it comes to the food bill, it's clear that no expense has been spared by this regime. September of 2025. Also saw the Pentagon spend $15.1 million on ribeye steak, $1 million on salmon. 272 Orders of donuts. For 140 K, 120 [00:07:00] 4K in ice cream, $26,000 in sushi preparation tables. Now, the waste, fraud and abuse isn't just limited on these luxury items.
[:
[00:07:24] You can look at the report and all of its detail, across multiple sources, but it paints a damning picture and what it paints a picture of is what we've known is the case with this regime. And Republicans in general.
[:
[00:07:41] Cutting waste, fraud and abuse. What they really mean is cutting off the social safety net for the average citizen so that they can live high on the hog. That's what the billionaire class and the millionaire class always do when you look at how they behave when they're given power services to average [00:08:00] Americans are cut while all of the regulations that reign in the billionaire and millionaire class are cut away so that they can continue stealing from the American taxpayer.
[:
[00:08:34] This go around.
[:
[00:08:53] If there isn't a massive series of investigations, convictions, and restitution [00:09:00] that's being filed against all of these billionaires as well as Trump and his extended crime family, you're gonna be dealing with an extremely pissed off citizenry.
