Shownotes
On this podcast episode, we discuss the first recorded public miracle of Jesus - turning water into wine (John 2:1-11). The first recorded miracle Jesus performed was at a wedding in Cana at the behest of mother. When the wine was finished, Jesus turned water into wine. It is important to note that Jesus performed his seemingly first public miracle at a wedding celebration. A wedding is a celebration of a new covenant and Jesus is ushering a new covenant with God. Today, the wine sometimes represents the blood of Jesus and his sacrifice for our redemption. There is cause to celebrate Jesus' life, death and resurrection. It's also important to recognize the other participants of this miracle - Mary's certainty that Jesus would perform a miracle and the servants who obeyed and brought the vessels to Jesus. If we want to access miracles in our lives, we need to be active participants. It requires certainty of God's ability, our faith, and it requires bringing the vessel (even ourselves) for the miracle before God. What miracle are you seeking from God today? What do you need to do in order to make it manifest?
