Shownotes

Sometimes life brings us to a place where we can’t see what comes next.

The problem feels too big. The options seem to have run out. And after loss—especially the loss of a husband—it can be easy to wonder if the life we knew was the end of the story.

In this episode of A Widow’s Life, Vickie and Cindy share personal stories of needing help in situations they couldn’t completely control, including Vickie’s unexpected adventure when her pontoon boat stopped running in the middle of Lake Taneycomo.

They also look at stories from Scripture where circumstances seemed impossible. Esther faced the destruction of her people. Moses and the Israelites found themselves trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea. In each case, what appeared to be the end became the place where God made a way forward.

For widows facing uncertainty, financial worries, difficult decisions, loneliness, or simply wondering what life is supposed to look like now, this episode is a reminder that the story is not finished.

God is still present. He is still our refuge, our defender, and our help in times of trouble. And even when we don’t yet know what the next chapter holds, we can trust the One who is writing it.

In this episode, Vickie and Cindy talk about:

  • Recognizing God’s help in both big and ordinary circumstances
  • What it means to trust God when you don’t know what to do next
  • God as a defender and protector of widows
  • Esther’s courage when her story appeared to have reached an impossible ending
  • Moses and the Israelites at the Red Sea
  • Why our emotions can sometimes make a difficult situation feel final
  • Looking back at the times God has already carried us through
  • Trusting that widowhood is not the end of your story

Scriptures discussed include Psalm 68:5, Psalm 46:1, Psalm 40:1–3, and Psalm 121.

Whatever you are facing today, remember: this moment is not necessarily the end of the story. There may still be a new chapter ahead.
