There are moments when you see God's smile. I have the immense pleasure of introducing a true entertainment phenom, Icey Parks.
With a remarkable career spanning over three decades and nearly 90 projects to her name, Icey carries the legacy of her legendary parents, Costume Designer and Dancer Judy Dearing, and Dancer and Educator Professor John Parks. Their collective work has played a pivotal role in shaping the very essence of Black theater on Broadway.
While you might not be familiar with her name just yet, today, you're in for a treat as you get to know Icey Parks and her incredible journey. Much like many remarkable women, Icey immerses herself in her craft, allowing her work to speak volumes.
Her Broadway credits include iconic productions such as 'Fosse,' 'Hairspray,' 'The Color Purple,' and 'The Wiz.' It's no wonder that the film and television industry eagerly welcomed her on set. Her journey started with shows like 'New York Undercover' and 'Oz' led her to remarkable appearances on 'Taxi' and 'Boardwalk Empire.' Now, she's part of the highly anticipated revival of 'The Color Purple,' produced by none other than Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey.
Today, Icey graciously takes us behind the scenes of her incredible career and shares her captivating story in this exclusive interview. But her passion doesn't stop at her career; she's also a devoted mom who believes she's only just begun.
