“Tapping is helping you find freedom from your emotions… You need to feel it to heal it… You have to feel it and move through it. then that can create some beautiful space for new things to happen.”  – Lauren Fonvielle

How can tapping on your body help you with limiting beliefs? Or fear? Or anything else? The good news it can work even if you don’t believe in it. Tapping has made a huge difference for me and I’m excited to talk with Lauren Fonvielle, an Integrative Energy Practitioner, who specializes in EFT, about this practice.

EFT is a practice of gently tapping on certain points of the body while simultaneously acknowledging the emotions that you're feeling. It can help with anxiety and stress, reducing physical pain, reducing cravings, and getting to the root of limiting beliefs that might be holding you back.

We talk about:

  • How tapping helps shift energy and why tapping is good for those emotions we try not to feel
  • Starting globally if you are overwhelmed and moving into more specifics
  • The importance of the words you use while tapping feeling true to you
  • Finding benefits in even a few minutes of tapping and the power of tapping before meditation
  • Acknowledging the negative or hard stuff when we tap vs. positive affirmations
  • Assessing the intensity of the emotion at the beginning and end of a session

DOABLE CHANGES

At the end of every episode, we share three doable changes, so you can take what you've heard and put it into action. Action is how change happens.

Often we feel like our actions have to be huge to match the bigness of our desires, but we have seen over and over and over again that the little things add up. By stacking up a series of Doable Changes, you will create that big change that you crave. Choose the one that really resonates with you this week and really make it part of your life.

  • NOTICE YOUR FEELINGS. Tapping is a way of acknowledging and working through emotions. You can start by simply trying to notice your emotions throughout the day, even if you often try to bury them.
  • TRY TAPPING. Use Lauren’s free class or videos to get started if you’ve never done it before. You don’t need a lot of time, but see what happens when you come back to this practice day after day.
  • ADD TAPPING BEFORE MEDITATION. This is a doable change to add on to another practice. If you already have a meditation practice, try adding some tapping to clear your mind a little before you start. If you are new to both meditation and tapping, pick one to start with and get comfortable with it before combining them.
