Join us this Saturday for a juicy two-hour dive into the world of innovation and sound on the Around the House show! We're kicking things off with a chat featuring the brilliant inventor Juliet Fassett, who’s tackling the pesky issue of patents and trademarks that have been a thorn in the side of inventors and small biz owners alike. But that’s not all, folks! In the second hour, we’ll groove into the realm of audio with Frank Deflippis from Sonos. Picture this: you can rock out to your favorite tunes not just in your living room but while whipping up a storm in the kitchen or chilling in the backyard. It's the ultimate sound experience, and we’re all about making those vibes flow throughout your home. So, grab your headphones (or just your favorite snack) and tune in to catch all the fun!
Imagine diving into the wild world of inventing and the uphill battle of trademarking your genius ideas. That's exactly what Eric G. and his guest, the brilliant inventor Juliet Fassett, tackle in this week's episode of Around the House. They dig into the nitty-gritty of how inventors and small business owners often find themselves in a legal labyrinth when it comes to protecting their creations. Juliet shares her firsthand experiences, which are as enlightening as they are eye-opening, highlighting the staggering costs of litigation—think millions of dollars that most of us would rather keep in our wallets, thank you very much! The conversation dances around the challenges of affording protection and the reality that many creative minds are left vulnerable because they simply can't shell out the necessary cash. We also learn about the various insurance options that, while they sound good on paper, often come with hefty out-of-pocket costs before they even kick in. Get ready for a mix of insight and empathy as they explore the struggles many face in the inventing world, and perhaps a few laughs along the way as they navigate this serious topic with a light touch.
Switching gears in the second hour, the show takes a delightful turn into the realm of audio experiences with Frank Deflippis from Sonos. Eric and Frank chat about the resurgence of two-channel vinyl systems and how they’re not just for the nostalgic hipsters anymore; they’re making waves in modern homes too! Picture this: you’re cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and instead of the usual background noise, you’ve got your favorite Billy Joel album echoing through the house. Frank paints a vivid picture of how home audio can transform everyday moments into something magical, making it possible to enjoy music in every nook and cranny of your house, whether you’re brushing your teeth or flipping burgers in the backyard. The duo discusses the exciting trends in home audio setups, including bespoke listening rooms that not just sound great but look fantastic too. So, whether you’re a music aficionado or just someone who enjoys a good jam while doing chores, this episode is packed with insights that will have you rethinking your home audio experience!

Speaker D:Yeah, I Love the whole 2 channel vinyl resurgence and I was talking to a couple of designers and one architect at IBS last month.
Speaker D:There were several people who told me they were working on two channel listening rooms for clients.
Speaker D:Whether they were like library studies or a couple of them work bourbon bars in the front of their house with a two channel system set up.
Speaker D:And if you put a Sonos product in that room, you can then take that experience.
Speaker D:And it's not limited to that room.
Speaker D:If you want to take your Billy Joel album and play it throughout your entire house, your backyard where you can do it.
