Mentioned in this episode:
If you haven't done the groundwork, then you're just sort of imagining against resistance. It's like planting a garden without pulling out the poison ivy. And so, like, I see a lot of people who just want to meditate and visualize all day, but they refuse to look at their patterns. And that's not awakening. It is avoidance. And so visualization isn't the problem, but using it to bypass the real work is. Because the real block that is in between you and everything that you want to create and who you're meant to become are your limiting beliefs and your unhealed karma. And so your life is already manifesting perfectly as a reflection of your belief system. So the relationships, the money issues, the anxiety, it's all feedback. And your soul came here to face this stuff. It's not a mistake. It's the curriculum. Welcome to a Changed Mind, a journey into the topics that matter to you most. From the neuroscience and spirituality of mindset and personal growth, to groundbreaking strategies for health, wealth and relationships, to open and honest conversations about pressing global issues such as the environment, censorship, corporate capture, and democracy. Each and every episode reminds us of the certainty of the goodness of the future and provides the teachings, tools, and timeless wisdom inspiring you to create real, lasting change in your life and in the world. If you've been desiring a sanctuary for your spirit, a place to go to tune out the distraction, negativity and doom and gloom so. So that you can tap into the deep power, the vibrancy, and the potential you have inside. You're in the right place. Welcome to a Changed Mind.
Hey, it's David. Welcome to a Changed mind. A sanctuary for your spirit. A place where each and every episode I remind you of the certainty of the goodness of the future. I'm your friend, your host, your guide, David Bayer. Now, we've been told to visualize harder, to feel it more, to script it. Smell the smells, act as if, and live in the wish fulfilled. But let's be real. Most of that is, well, bullshit. Pardon my Californian. Not because visualization doesn't work, but because people are skipping the real work and everybody wants the shortcut. Nobody wants to face their trauma. Nobody wants to deal with their limiting beliefs or the karma that we actually came here to heal. And if you're just meditating and listening to Law of Attraction audios all day, but avoiding the hard stuff, guess what? You're just going to manifest more trauma. But now it's dressed up as success. More money that causes more problems, more relationships, with more friction and I'm not saying throw the manifestation baby out with the bath water, but you've got to get in the tub and do the work too. And in this episode, I'm going to break down how the system actually works and how real transformation leads to effortless manifestation as a byproduct, not a goal. So let's do some real talk here. Who are we learning manifestation from? Because when I look at what's coming through my Instagram real feed or my YouTube short feed, a lot of the manifestation advice online is from people who are still trapped in their own performance. A lot of it is theoretical. And so, like, you have to ask yourself this question, Is someone actually, have they integrated in terms of a way of being everything that they're talking about? Like, do they seem like an emotionally healed person? Have they actually materialized the kind of life that you want? I'm not saying they have to have materialized exactly the life that you want, because you're a unique being and you're going to manifest or create a life that is unique to you. But are you learning from people who have actually faced real darkness and alchemized it into creation? Because surface level manifestation is just spiritual bypass with a bunch of glitter on it. And so there are a lot of people talking about Law of Attraction right now who, who are still not living in financial abundance and prosperity. There are a lot of people who, especially celebrities, are out there now talking about Law of Attraction, but when you look behind the scenes at their life, it's a train wreck. And, you know, I've had the great opportunity. By no means, by the way, am I saying I'm perfect. And if you've listened to any other episodes on the show, I am far from perfect. Right? I still wake up many days in suffering. I'm still working through my own shit. I'm still experiencing health challenges. I'm still working through my karma. But I'm really, really clear about it as I'm teaching the concepts that I teach and my life has become significantly transformed. Was like, not that long ago, a decade ago, I was digging around in a dumpster looking for bags of pot. And I was an alcoholic and a sex addict and a drug addict with a failing business. And things have changed since then. And things have changed because of the work that I share with you and the work that I've done. There are a lot of people out there who are like, either talking about how to attract abundance that are broke, which I'm not criticizing them. I'm just saying to you, be conscious of who you're learning from, because we're learning a lot of things that actually aren't true in terms of implementation and integration. Or number two, I've had the great opportunity over the last 10 years to really see behind the scenes in the personal development space. I've even been hired by some of the top influencers in the personal development space. And I see behind the scenes, so I understand why these teachings are not authentic. This idea of, like, just visualize, just imagine, and you'll produce it in your life. It sounds. It's so attractive and so alluring because it's what we want to do. People love the rituals, they love the visualization, the scripting, the brainwave states, but they don't want to dig up the weeds and actually pull them. There's a really great teacher out there right now who I like. I think he's shepherding a lot of people into deeper personal growth. And a friend of mine is like, yeah, you should really get into his stuff. I can't believe you haven't read his book. There's a lot of you who are listening on YouTube who have commented, like, man, your stuff is like, as good as this guy's stuff. And this guy's stuff is great. And my buddy was like, why won't you get into his work? I said, well, number one, I don't feel particularly called to it. And I just, like, wait till I'm called. And number two, because I have so many people coming into our work that are coming from his work that still haven't integrated the transformation. Like, they go to an event and they experience a lot of healing, and then they leave and they revert back to the challenges that they had. Because the brain is neuroplastic. Because a lot of the work that this guy's doing is around, like, opening your pineal gland and getting into different brainwave states. And I think that stuff is great once you've actually addressed your core beliefs and trauma. Because if you haven't done that, you just want to get into, like, a Neville Goddard fourth dimension, which. Some of my most popular episodes, I talk about what Nevill Goddard teaches. If you haven't done the groundwork, then you're just sort of imagining against resistance. It's like planting a garden without pulling out the poison ivy. And so, like, I see a lot of people who just want to meditate and visualize all day, but they refuse to look at their patterns. And that's not awakening, it is avoidance. And so visualization isn't the problem, but using it to bypass the real work is because the real block that is in between you and everything that you want to create and who you're meant to become are your limiting beliefs and your unhealed karma. And so your life is already manifesting perfectly as a reflection of your belief system. So the relationships, the money issues, the anxiety, it's all feedback. And your soul came here to face this stuff. It's not a mistake, it's the curriculum. In fact, I believe that you chose your parents because of their unresolved trauma, so that you could take on that trauma and work through that trauma as resistance training to become the person that you are meant to be and a byproduct of that transformation. And who you are is a change in the life that you're manifesting. You don't become courageous by meditating, you become courageous by facing fear. You don't become patient by visualizing patience. You become patient by walking through fire and not running. And so the secret most people miss is that visualization is not the path to the life that you want. It's actually the result. Now hear me on this. When you actually do the work, when you realize the game is to take this feedback from the friction of your life, to realize that you are a powerful creator and you're creating your life experiences to start to become self aware, meaning you pay attention to your reaction to the experiences in your life that you don't like. That reveals to you belief systems.
A lot of people think that stuff happens in their life and that the stuff is the cause of the way that they think or their reaction. But actually it's the other way around. You've had this pattern of thinking and pattern of feeling since a time that you can barely remember, when you were a little kid, when these programs got installed. And it's creating your life. And so if you want to become more deeply aware of the resistance that needs to be cleared, you pay attention to, to your reaction to the life that you're creating. Because the lack of money isn't making you feel that way. Your belief that you're not going to have enough is creating the lack of money. Does that make sense? So when you get that this is how the game of life is played, and you start clearing the resistance, you create space inside of you, you start unpackaging or transforming those neural networks that hold the limiting beliefs in the programs that are consuming all of the energy in your nervous system, in your body. And now that energy is free flowing. And so as you start to downregulate your nervous system. And you start operating from parasympathetic instead of fight or flight. And you start being more present to your life rather than operating from a mental headspace. And you clear the resistance. You start to see the vision that spirit has for you. So spirit already has a blueprint for you. You don't have to, like, push hard to go visualize it. When you drop the resistance, you naturally tune into and receive the vision. And so if you've ever had a challenge, like, I know I was, like, visualization and imagination challenged for a long time. So I started listening to all these videos and, like, really trying to visualize better. No, visualization is a natural byproduct of clearing the resistance. You've got to clear the fog before you can see it. And so a lot of people right now, because of the way we're being taught by people who haven't actually integrated what they're teaching or whose lives have not materialized in the type of life that you would want, most people are trying to brute force their way into clarity while dragging unresolved pain with them and then wondering why it doesn't stick. So it's important to understand. And one of my teachers, one of my mentors, taught me this. He said, there's no such thing as personal growth. All there is is this one super organism of consciousness itself that's always growing and always evolving. So are you growing with consciousness or not? In other words, you don't just grow, you become growth itself. So as you do the deeper work, you don't have to try to believe anymore. You just are. I had this wonderful conversation with my new best buddy. His name is Josh Troy. And he said, I've been doing this work for the last 18 months. I've really been working with my therapist and clearing out the limiting beliefs and doing the work. Like, he showed me his morning routine. He's doing the work. Not just trying to operate from the fourth dimension and not just trying to open his pineal gland, but, like, doing the work. Like, looking at the. And transforming it. And he said, everybody talks about visualization, but, like, I'm just living my life now. And I already know, like, something shifted in my nervous system recently where, like, even though I'm not yet, I can't see materializing yet. The vision that I have, I'm in the vision already. Like, it's an inevitability that I'm getting there. In fact, I know I'm in my process right now. There's no longer this gap between who I am and who I'M supposed to be. It's just one continuum. And that actually really inspired this episode. And I was like, man, you're in it. What's happening is your nervous system has stabilized into your new identity. And when that happens, manifestation becomes automatic because you're no longer divided within yourself. It's like you've collapsed space and time into just one continuum. There's no longer like a past, a present, and a future. And this is what Neville Goddard talks about in the fourth dimension. But the irony is you don't start operating from the four dimension and materializing from the quantum field by trying to operate from the fourth dimension and materialize from the quantum field. It is the natural byproduct of you doing the work because you're no longer divided within yourself. And so when that happens and there's no longer trying to get somewhere into the future feeling like you're not there now, but actually you are there right now, and the future is unfolding right here, right now. What ends up happening is you're not behind. You're right in your process. And so we can already start to see that a lot of these core limiting beliefs, like the last mile of limiting beliefs that are really difficult to work with. Like feeling like you're not as far along as you should be. You don't overcome them by trying to overcome you're not as far along as you should be. When you pull the rest of the weeds from the garden, all of a sudden there's this flourishing that occurs of a new you and a new life. And now everything is just occurring simultaneously. But it's not a place you try to get to. It's a phenomenon that occurs when your nervous system is no longer responding to force. That's a really important thing to understand. Your nervous system doesn't function in force, it functions in truth.
I'm going to say that one more time. Your nervous system doesn't function in force, it functions in truth. And so the big illusion and personal growth right now is. It's so crazy to me because on one hand in personal growth, there's this like new generation of kind of Navy SEAL based motivation. It's a very masculine kind of older patriarchal structure of like hustle and grind and be a part of the 5am Club. And this idea of like, if you're not consistently training, there is someone somewhere that is, and when you meet them, they will defeat you. And I'm like, oh, what a shitty way to look at life. We just got back from my big annual event. I was Sharing this with the 800 incredible souls who showed up for deep level of transformation. I was like, I'm an Avengers fan. And so, to me, that feels like Hulk smash. And I don't want to be Hulk smash. I want to be more like Dr. Strange. I want to be a master of the mystic arts. I want things to come easily. I want to be able to manipulate time. And that doesn't mean that you don't do the work, because doing the work and looking at your stuff and working through it and being honest with yourself, it's not an easy thing to do. But if you're willing to do the hard work, life becomes easy later. And so my point is, there's a lot of people talking about applying hustle and grind to personal growth, and even those who are teaching personal growth in a more elegant way. It's still effort. Do you hear what I'm saying? It's like you got to effort your way. You got to try to imagine, try to visualize. And when I was doing this, frankly, just created more resistance. And when you stop resisting what's arising, the healing begins, and the vision comes through effortlessly. And so you don't attract it. You are it. You don't become magnetic by pretending. You become magnetic by becoming real. And the way that you become real is by actually removing what doesn't belong, which are these programs that you learned at a very early age that, again, were delivered to you by design so you could become the person that you're meant to be and ultimately deserving of the life that you want. And once you become the person who can hold the vision, you don't need to chase it anymore. And this is what the ancient teachings meant. When the law or the Word becomes flesh, it's when it truly starts to become embodied. That was really the difference between Jesus and Moses from my perspective. Moses came and taught the law. Not that he wasn't a super being. I mean, clearly he was the dude parted the red seas. But Jesus came to actually embody the law through the miracles that he performed. And you have the ability to perform miracles in your own life, too. And those miracles are a byproduct of your becomingness. And your becomingness is about removing the resistance and working with the information that is showing up in your life, the friction that is reflecting back to you, your karma, your limiting beliefs, the unconscious stories and programs, and really working with that information. Then, yes, you can accelerate all of that when you get to a place where you're naturally living in your future, right here, right now. But it's not another task on your to do list for your personal development workout. And so when you get to this place, you stop manifesting from effort and you start creating from alignment. So hey, that's just what I think. Having lived my own experience of personal growth, having gone from a place where I wasn't ever happy with myself to now most of the time being pretty pleased with who I'm being and self confident and compassionate and patient and present. It's a work in progress. I don't know that I'm ever going to get to like there, that it's a destination or place, but I can certainly track what has been a byproduct of that, which is a lot of money in my bank account, a lot of influence in the world, attracting my soulmate, having a beautiful home, having a beautiful child, having incredible friends and a life that frankly, I didn't even imagine was possible until imagination became a natural byproduct of who I was being in the midst of it all.
