You don't have to be perfect. And right now, that's the most radical form of self-love.
In this episode, Kayla explores deep self-love — not the bath-and-nails kind, but the kind that means loving the parts of yourself you're ashamed of, the shadow parts, the human parts that judge and mess up.
We're in a climax moment. Pressure is building. The collective is awakening. Things are crumbling — both globally and in our personal lives. And the spiritual bypass of "stay high-vibe, think positive thoughts, don't doomscroll" isn't sustainable when you're barely surviving.
Kayla talks about the goddess of love archetype in her priestess training, and what it means to turn that love inward. She's honest: she's worked on perfectionism around doing, but not around being. She thought she had to be perfect internally — always holding the torch of light, never getting triggered, never falling apart.
But we're human. We need to feel all the feelings. We need community. We need to cry and rest and numb out sometimes. We need to stop doing, doing, doing and allow ourselves to be.
The real work: going inward, getting quiet, and making the scary decisions to love yourself first. Saying no to what doesn't serve you. Letting go of the riverbank and flowing with the current of change instead of fighting it.
She also announces: The Wild Feminine Fair (August 9, Gig Harbor WA) — where she'll soft-launch Walk as Love Temple + hold an in-person Holy Rage Circle. And she's taking time off the podcast to prepare.

If you’re feeling called to stay in touch with Kayla:
Welcome to Liberation Wisdom.
Speaker A:I'm Kayla Moore, a sacred feminine priestess in training and guide on the path of walking as love in a world of chaos.
Speaker A:This podcast is for seekers, healers and anyone who feels the old world crumbling and the new one trying to be born.
Speaker A:Each episode we explore how to liberate ourselves from patriarchal wounds, weave the divine feminine and divine masculine back into harmony and witness the real tangible evidence of the new earth manifesting through collective consciousness shifts.
Speaker A:This isn't about bypassing the darkness, it's about alchemizing grief and rage into fuel for co creating what comes next.
Speaker A:We are the light and the love.
Speaker A:When we choose love and peace internally, we are also sending those vibrations to be mirrored the world around us.
Speaker A:This is Liberation Wisdom.
Speaker A:Always choose love.
Speaker A:Welcome beloveds, back to the Liberation Wisdom podcast.
Speaker A:I'm Kayla Moore, your host, priestess and training and feminine liberation coach and I'm here to help us walk as love in this chaotic world and help us liberate ourselves from patriarchal conditioning and to really weave the divine feminine and divine masculine back into the fabric of who we are as humans.
Speaker A:So welcome.
Speaker A:Thank you for being here.
Speaker A:Today we are going to talk about some self love and I know that is something that therapists and healers and self help gurus have talked about for a very long time, but this is the type of self love that goes deeper than just going and getting nails done or taking a bath.
Speaker A:This is really about going down deep into the core of who we are and really finding love for even the parts of ourselves that are hard to love sometimes, the human parts that judge, that do things that we're not proud of and really taking stock of where we are in this moment and who you want to be moving forward.
Speaker A:So before we dive into that, I just want to give a quick note that I had my first online Holy Rage Circle this last Tuesday and it was was amazing.
Speaker A:I had two magical women that really co created the space with me and made it so much more special than I could have ever imagined.
Speaker A:I'm really finding my footing in who I am as a priestess and bringing my gift of voice and song to the magic and the medicine that I bring to people.
Speaker A:So I'm really excited to keep growing in that and keep experimenting and evolving and really bringing my love of singing and music to the medicine that I'm helping people with.
Speaker A:So I wanted to give a quick sneak peek that the next in person Holy Rage Circle will be on August 9, Sunday, August 9 at the Wild Feminine Fair in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Speaker A:It is at Crescent Creek park in Gig harbor and it will be from I believe like 10 or 11 to 4pm And I'm not exactly sure when the circle will be yet in the lineup of the workshops, but I will let you know when I find out.
Speaker A:This is a really special fair.
Speaker A:It, this is the third year that it's been put on.
Speaker A:It's the second year that it's been the Wild Feminine Fair.
Speaker A:It was called something different the first year.
Speaker A:And it's just this beautiful culmination of so many magical people in our community or our greater kind of south sound area.
Speaker A:So many different vendors from regenerative farming to coaching to crystals and lots of magical wares that you can buy.
Speaker A:To me, who will also be having a booth and talking about the Walk is Love Temple that I am projecting to do a soft launch on during that time.
Speaker A:You don't have to attend the fair to become part of the temple, but this is where I'm kind of presenting it to the public.
Speaker A:I'm going to be doing my Holy Rage Circle and then talking to people about the Walk is Love Temple and what that membership looks like.
Speaker A:So if that's something that is calling to you that you want to go explore fair, there's going to be food, there's going to be like a mandala space where people are co creating the mandala and there's going to be some like kind of meditative, quiet space.
Speaker A:There's so many things that the woman who produces this and puts on this event has in store for all the people that come and join us in this celebration.
Speaker A:So it is also on the Lionsgate weekend, which is 88 which is Saturday and then the fair is on 8, 9.
Speaker A:So we're still gonna be kind of in this beautiful portal of the Lion's Gate that is a very magical portal.
Speaker A:And I'm just excited to see where this year can take all of us.
Speaker A:I will have somewhat of a link below.
Speaker A:The Wild Feminine Fair page hasn't been completely updated yet to this year.
Speaker A:So I will link what is below and then I'm sure it will get updated in the next week or so as the woman that is putting it on shifts from her last event to this event.
Speaker A:So stay tuned for more updated details for that.
Speaker A:Okay, so we are going to jump in and talk about self love and how that pertains to where we are in this moment in time.
Speaker A:We are at the precipice of kind of this peak moment of energy that has been building and building and building all Year.
Speaker A:A lot of people can feel it.
Speaker A:There is a rumbling underground, and a lot of our nervous systems are feeling it and have been feeling it for a long time.
Speaker A:There is things shifting.
Speaker A:Things in our world feel very unmoored, like we are kind of just floating out in the abyss and don't really have much to hold onto right now.
Speaker A:Not a lot feels stable and steady and consistent right now.
Speaker A:And the things that are consistent tend to be the things that we don't actually want to be there.
Speaker A:So it's really a challenging, challenging moment that we are in right now, and it is for the good of what is to come.
Speaker A:We are being shown what is not meant to be here anymore.
Speaker A:Everything is bubbling up to the surface in order for the things that no longer serve our globe, our society, humanity to shake away.
Speaker A:But again, as above, so below, as within, so without.
Speaker A:Everything happens on a macrocosm as well as a microcosm.
Speaker A:And so in our own lives, a lot of us are feeling this shaking away of things that no longer serve us in our own lives as well.
Speaker A:I am not an exception to that.
Speaker A:I've also been dealing with a lot in my own personal life, and so I completely understand feeling overwhelmed, feeling exhausted, feeling like, when are we ever gonna see the other side of this mountain?
Speaker A:That it feels like we keep pushing a giant boulder up.
Speaker A:It is just.
Speaker A:It's been a lot.
Speaker A:And so July in astrology is a very big month.
Speaker A:It doesn't mean that we necessarily will see huge things happen this month.
Speaker A:I do think that we're coming up against something.
Speaker A:Like, it feels like we're coming to a breaking point where something is gonna give either in July or August.
Speaker A:It feels like there's so much pressure on everyone that we can't sustain this for very much longer.
Speaker A:So I'm not an astrologer.
Speaker A:I only know what I feel in my body and what I'm hearing in the collective.
Speaker A:So who knows?
Speaker A:I've also heard some people that channel say that the astrology might be really loud this month, but we may not feel it until closer to September, October, or, like, see it, what actually comes of it.
Speaker A:So, you know, who knows, who knows?
Speaker A:But there are some big, big, big things culminating in July in astrology and a lot of prophecies that are coming to term or, you know, this is the time that they were prophesizing about.
Speaker A:And so there's just a lot of energy coming in.
Speaker A:And then for other people that channel higher beings, they're talking about, that's really a lot through June it was through May and June that we had intense, intense energies coming in from our sun and from the cosmos and really helping to open up our hearts and also helping us to move through trauma stories and, like, collective narratives that we have held as humanity for a long time.
Speaker A:That a lot of us.
Speaker A:You could have felt like, detox symptoms happening, purging happening.
Speaker A:People talk about, like, ascension symptoms.
Speaker A:Basically, as your consciousness goes higher, the density in your body kind of shifts and you become less dense.
Speaker A:But it kind of has to purge some of the stuff that was there before to move higher in consciousness and in your frequency and vibration.
Speaker A:So if you were somebody that was feeling a lot of that, as I was, know that you're not alone and that there's been a lot happening.
Speaker A:So we are building to kind of this climax.
Speaker A:There's huge climaxes happening in terms of astrology in July, but then also in August, it's gonna be pretty loud as well, because we're back into eclipse season.
Speaker A:So the next couple months are just gonna be a lot.
Speaker A:And then people are saying that the energy is going to shift.
Speaker A:I think sometime in September, probably around the equinox, which is the fall equinox in the northern hemisphere and spring equinox in the southern hemisphere.
Speaker A:So I think probably like mid to late September, I think the energy is really gonna shift.
Speaker A:And then at least most people are saying, like, the end of the year is going to be calmer and less kind of contentious as it is right now.
Speaker A:But we'll see, we'll see what happens.
Speaker A:We also in the United States, have our midterm election in the fall.
Speaker A:So we'll see, we'll see what happens.
Speaker A:But for now, I wanted to again talk about self love.
Speaker A:So in my priestess training this week, we started the archetype of the goddess of love.
Speaker A:And the goddess of love is really about opening our hearts to love.
Speaker A:What is blocking us from being able to be fully open, fully vulnerable, and fully willing to partake in love.
Speaker A:And a lot of times we're talking about outside barriers to that or things that we've experienced in the past.
Speaker A:And those are really important things for me, I think the biggest one is trying to turn that love inward and give myself love.
Speaker A:There are plenty of things that I've worked on for myself around self love, but I think one of the biggest things is being able to love the parts that are, like, not my proudest, the parts of me that in priestess training, we call in the grado or the shadow, and they're really just, like, parts of Self that haven't fully been integrated into who we are yet.
Speaker A:And there's still places where we have lessons to learn.
Speaker A:And so I think those are the hardest places for me to find self love.
Speaker A:To feel like I don't have to be this perfect human all the time.
Speaker A:And it's interesting that like perfectionism, I've worked so much on perfectionism when it comes to doing things and not feeling like everything has to be perfect that I'm creating or that I'm doing or like the chores that are in every household have to be perfect that I don't have to be perfect in terms of what I'm outputting.
Speaker A:I don't think that it was until the last few months that I really started to look at what does it mean to not be perfect internally.
Speaker A:That I always have felt like I have had to be perfect internally.
Speaker A:So especially in the spiritual community, so many of the people that even I really love listening to talk about really trying to stay in a place of like open hearted love, of not thinking any negative thoughts, not getting pulled into the doom scrolling and focusing too heavily on technology and how it can ruin all of our lives and really like focusing more on connection and being out in nature and having positive thoughts and gratitude and sending love to the people that need it in the world and like connecting inward and connecting to the earth and to the cosmos and doing all these really great things.
Speaker A:And I think that is definitely the message and what I would suggest as well.
Speaker A:But I don't think there's enough emphasis on the fact that we are also human beings and we also are not perfect.
Speaker A:And sometimes it can feel like if I'm not holding this torch of light a hundred percent 247 all the time that I'm doing something wrong.
Speaker A:We are human beings and we need to be able to feel all the feelings.
Speaker A:We need to be able to feel grief and anger and rage and frustration.
Speaker A:And you know, when we're triggered by something, we're not going to have all of our tools always available right there.
Speaker A:It doesn't mean that we don't continue to work on how we respond to situations and making sure that we are able to bring as much of our heart and much as much of our vulnerability and love and joy and pleasure to hard situations.
Speaker A:But as I have stated, we are in some really, really hard times.
Speaker A:And so bringing a little bit of love and grace to ourselves and how we are responding to this moment I think is also really important.
Speaker A:A lot of us tend to go to some extremes that we Tend to either numb out and, you know, doom scroll or watch tv, which, honestly, is still one of my favorite pastimes.
Speaker A:I. I love the stories in scripted tv.
Speaker A:And there are.
Speaker A:There's just things in TV that a lot of people get from books that help calm my nervous system down and help me, like, not be so scatterbrained all the time.
Speaker A:So I am a proponent of tv, but I also know it needs to be limited.
Speaker A:And, like, getting outside and being in a present moment is also really helpful for me.
Speaker A:So, like, know that it's okay.
Speaker A:It's okay to, like, have some numbing out, but really noticing, like, when you're going to the extreme.
Speaker A:I was having conversation with a client this week around how when we don't feel like we have time for ourselves, we're just go, go, go, go, go all the time.
Speaker A:That oftentimes we can do things like pushing off bedtime, because once everything is kind of said and done for the day, we're like, this is finally my time.
Speaker A:But then we go overboard and push bedtime super late and don't go to bed until late, and then we're not getting enough sleep, and then it's kind of like a perpetual problem.
Speaker A:And, oh, I have been in that cycle many, many, many, many, many times, Especially as a mom, when it's like, finally the house is quiet, Finally I can, like, have some space for myself.
Speaker A:It feels so good to, like, sit and just do some stuff for yourself.
Speaker A:But getting sleep is also really important for me too.
Speaker A:So it's just finding and knowing the things that are depleting versus rejuvenating and replenishing for you and trying to balance them out as best as we can.
Speaker A:I don't love the word balance, but really finding ways to regulate your nervous system as best as you can is so important.
Speaker A:And then the other kind of extreme that we can go down is just being on all the time and never shutting down and feeling like we have to do, do, do, do, do all the time and be everything for everyone all the time.
Speaker A:And so, again, like, there's doing nothing and feeling like I'm just gonna curl up in a ball and pretend like nothing is happening.
Speaker A:And then there's doing all the things and not resting.
Speaker A:And so, as you know, the walk is love Temple is moving in in the direction of opening.
Speaker A:The real message that I want to bring is how to, again, like, hold the torch of love, hold the torch of an open heart, but also be okay with the fact that we are human and we are not perfect.
Speaker A:And you do not need to be perfect in this moment.
Speaker A:I really feel like as much as spirituality is about kind of being able to see through the veil of society and what has been told to us is not actual fact and is very much curated by those in power, it's also about, like, coming back to what it means to be human.
Speaker A:And as we talk more about the cosmos and like, galactic beings and ETs becoming more and more prevalent in our culture and society, and the fact that disclosure is a very big possibility if not inevitability.
Speaker A:I think so much is, like, focused up here and kind of the ether and like above our heads and like ascension, like we're going higher and higher and higher.
Speaker A:And again, I think all that is well and good, but I think sometimes we forget, like, what it truly means to be a human being.
Speaker A:And being human is not something to just toss away.
Speaker A:Being human is what our souls came here to be.
Speaker A:Being human means having a body that we get to experience life through, that we have all of these senses that we get to experience our surroundings and each other through.
Speaker A:And I just think that as we move through these changes and whatever is coming our way, I personally want to continue to hold myself in the love of being a human and making sure that I'm not feeling like I need to be more than a human.
Speaker A:And that even if we are getting upgrades as humans, that the special nature of what it means to be a human is still important to me.
Speaker A:And that, again, means not being perfect.
Speaker A:It means honoring the things that are hard and finding community, finding the places where we can bring our full, true, authentic selves to and get some guidance and get some comfort so that we don't feel alone.
Speaker A:But ultimately, it's important to go inward.
Speaker A:That we have to be the sources of our own destiny or what we are creating out in the world.
Speaker A:And this climax of pressure and energy in our collective, in our world, is not necessarily coming from out there.
Speaker A:I think we're getting outside help.
Speaker A:But a lot of it is because the collective consciousness is stirring and we're awakening to what no longer serves us as a whole and individually.
Speaker A:And that is from going within.
Speaker A:It's not about finding the Messiah or someone out there that is going to be our savior.
Speaker A:It's about really going within ourselves and understanding what in my life is not working for me anymore.
Speaker A:What in my life, whether it be career, whether it be relationship, where I live, what I eat, the, you know, things that I spend my day doing, the time of day that I spend doing, certain Things, my routine, like everything right now, is up for grabs to shift and change.
Speaker A:And so really going inward and making decisions based off of what you really feel would be in alignment for you is the best way forward.
Speaker A:We have to be able to look within ourselves, sit in silence with ourselves, and make sometimes the really, really scary and hard decisions to love ourself first.
Speaker A:And that means saying no to something in our life that isn't holding us in the way that we need to be held.
Speaker A:It's not serving us in the way that we need to be served.
Speaker A:And that's also part of this moment, is things are crumbling both out there and within our own lives.
Speaker A:And it's up to us to start to make the decisions that are based on what is best for us and best for our heart, best for our soul, best for our body, best for the collective.
Speaker A:And stop just allowing things to just be what they are, because that's what it's always been.
Speaker A:And that's so hard and it's so scary.
Speaker A:And that's why it's so important to also, like, find a community to support you in the changes that are happening and to talk about what it means to continue to, like, walk as much with an open heart as possible, but also to feel like you can be a human being and to fall apart when you need to fall apart and to, like, feel the feelings when you need to feel the feelings, and to, like, sit down and cry or lay down and cry or not do anything for a couple days before you're able to re.
Speaker A:Emerge from that.
Speaker A:So I just think that the self love and self care right now is really going inward and finding that alignment and letting what no longer serves us fall away and being okay with that.
Speaker A:One of the prophecies, a Hopi prophecy that is coming to culmination right now, talks about how we're in a really fast river right now.
Speaker A:And also one of the big archetypes that astrologers talk about is Sedna.
Speaker A:And she was this woman who had been betrayed by the patriarchy, by her father, by her potential husband, and they were in a boat.
Speaker A:There's kind of.
Speaker A:It's a longer story than this, but they were in a boat, they were in a storm, they were both gonna die.
Speaker A:And in order to save himself, her father threw her overboard.
Speaker A:And she was hanging on to the boat with her fingertips, and she wouldn't let go.
Speaker A:She wouldn't let go.
Speaker A:Even though her father obviously didn't care anything about her and was okay to, like, let her die.
Speaker A:She was still clinging onto, you know, the metaphorically, what she knew, the old world, what she had always known to life, you know, above.
Speaker A:Above the water.
Speaker A:And her father cuts her fingers off and she floats down into the water and has a moment of, you know, being pissed and hurt and just like, what the fuck just happened?
Speaker A:And then as she sinks down, she has this, like, death moment.
Speaker A:And then a rebirth happens and she is birthed into this beautiful goddess that is the goddess of all these different sea creatures and, like, different creatures sprouted from her hands and her fingers and all of these things.
Speaker A:So we are in this, like, a big transformation, death, rebirth moment.
Speaker A:And a lot of us are, like, fighting the current of this river.
Speaker A:And trust me, I, as much as I'm like, trying to flow, it's not easy.
Speaker A:It's not easy to just keep flowing with the current when things are really, really challenging.
Speaker A:But the more we, like, hold onto the side of the boat or we hold onto the riverbank and we try to stop ourselves from being moved so fast with this current, the harder it's going to be.
Speaker A:And eventually something might come in and just chop our fingers off and make us move.
Speaker A:And so as much as we can come back to our center, as much as we can come back to again, like, what do I need?
Speaker A:Not necessarily just, like, water and food and sleep, although those are extremely important and so many people still neglect those to the nth degree.
Speaker A:So really getting, like, down to that micro of a need is also important, but.
Speaker A:But also looking at your life as a whole and really seeing what are the things that are screaming at me, that this is not something that needs to be in my life anymore.
Speaker A:And allowing those to fall away and moving with the current in that way, I just want you to know you're not alone.
Speaker A:You do not have to be perfect.
Speaker A:Being human is hard, but so amazing, too.
Speaker A:We get to feel all the things, and we also get to hold our hearts open and to love ourselves as much as we can and love each other as much as we can through this really hard moment.
Speaker A:And we will see what comes of it.
Speaker A:Thank you so much for being here.
Speaker A:I want to let you know that because I'm trying to get the Walk is Love Temple off the ground and ready for the Wild Feminine fair in August.
Speaker A:I'm gonna take some time off of my podcast.
