The message arrived two days later,

and she accepted it without question.

Rachel’s friend had always been early.

Sometimes midnight.

Sometimes the evening before.

Rachel noticed it during the day.

Then stopped.

By the time the message arrived, she had already adjusted.

Rachel replied normally.

Said thank you.
