Keeping the system simple and organized is the shortest path to success. How do we build a system that keeps everyone accountable when you are away? How can we find the right people for our business? Do we need more leads or to go deeper on what we already have in your database?
On this episode, Dan Jones shares how he built a business that works on autopilot and what he learned from the mistakes he made in the beginning.
I wish everyone knew how powerful it is to really pay attention to lead management systems. -Lars Hedenborg
3 Things We Learned From This Episode
- Hire people who cherish the same values you do (10:45-12:16)
A set of core values is like a compass that will show you where the right people are.
When your workers don’t share the same values that you do, they become frustrated and treat their job as a paycheck instead of a career. Make sure you surround yourself with people who want to be there with you, who want to be in the real estate industry, and who share the same work ethic.
- Go deeper on your current leads before chasing new ones (19:15-20:04)
Make sure each lead is receiving enough calls and emails before adding a new lead source. Often, the problem is not the amount of leads but a poor conversion rate instead. As a business owner, you have to make sure your agents are trained to become better at converting leads into sales.
- Create a system to keep your team accountable (31:57-32:50)
Make sure expectations and consequences are clearly communicated and put into writing. This way, you don’t have to explain yourself or deal with excuses from your team because the expectations have been clear from the start.
After you’ve put together a skilled and driven team, coaching them will bring you more sales than selling on your own. One agent can only take so many leads and close so many sales. When you share your secrets with others on your team, everyone will grow and bring more revenue. By coaching your team, you are duplicating your own success.
