Bulent Uner has been in Japan since 1992, and we have known each other since we met at the New Sanno hotel. Bulent is a security guard with the “toughest” stone-cold look that commands respect, and we have developed a camaraderie over the years. He talked candidly about his family, childhood, military service, including security for a three-star general, and experiences in Japan. Having fulfilled his dream of buying a home for his family in Turkey, Bulent leads a happy, healthy life and plans to retire in the Philippines with his wife.
