In this episode, we talk about the difference between barriers and boundaries. One is externally imposed, the other is something we choose. Barriers are often created to protect someone on either side of the barrier. On construction sites, they are there to protect both the workers and the bystanders.
Sometimes we have barriers that are not serving us. We have labels that we attach to ourselves like “I’m disorganized,” or “I’m just not a detail person.” These and dozens of others sometimes act at barriers to achieving what we want. We allow them to stand because we believe in them. If you want to eliminate a barrier, step one is to firmly declare your intent. Next, you create a plan to make it so. Then you ACT.
