Shownotes

Sometimes the soul does not go out in a crash. It dims slowly, one tired day at a time, until one morning you realise the spark you used to carry has quietly gone missing. This episode is for anyone who has been running on empty without quite knowing when the light went out.

Vickie Miller, international author, energy healer, and coach, joins Soul Sparks to talk about what actually dims our aliveness, why expectations steal the joy before we even notice, and how small, playful, creative acts are the fastest way back to yourself. If you have been waiting for something big to wake you up, this conversation will remind you the spark is already there. It just needs feeding.

About the Guest:

Vickie Miller is an international author, medium, psychic, health intuitive, and energy reader and healer for people and pets. She hosts Scottish retreats, runs the Magical U coaching community, and teaches people how to work with energy to heal and live a life they love. She is the host of The Magical U Vickie Miller Show podcast on Spotify and the author of several books available through her website.

Key Takeaways:

  • Sparks do not go out in dramatic crashes. They dim slowly through accumulated expectations, other people's needs, and the quiet drift away from your own centre. Naming that honestly is where the return begins.
  • Expectations are one of the biggest spark-killers. When we attach our joy to how a person, relationship, or moment is supposed to show up, disappointment dims the light before we even give it a chance.
  • The spark lives in the inner child. Going back to what a younger version of you loved, painting, dancing, singing, creating, is not regression. It is the fastest path back to aliveness.
  • Movement is medicine. On the days when nothing feels lit up, physically moving your body shifts your energy and creates the opening for a new spark to enter.
  • Gratitude is the reset. When everything else fails, looking around at what is already here and blessing it can shift your entire frequency within minutes.
  • The spark goes out again. That is not failure. It is just growth asking for something new. Getting out of your comfort zone, trying a new class, a new hobby, a new seat in the room, is how you feed it back.

Transcripts

00:00:00 Shreya: Sometimes the soul does not go out in a dramatic crash. It deems slowly, one day at a time. Until one morning, you realize the spark you used to carry has quietly gone missing. And here is the surprising part. It really takes something huge to bring it back. It takes a spark, a small moment of aliveness, a tiny yes, a flicker of the thing that once made you feel like you. And tonight is about those parts. The little ones we overlook and how they quietly rely. A soul that thought it had run out of fire.

00:00:41 Shreya: Welcome to the soul, Sparks. I'm your host, Shreya, And this is the show where we go looking for the small, bright moments of insights that wake the soul back up quick, real and honest. And tonight we are talking about the tiny sparks that reignite a tired spirit and why small things are so often the ones that matter most. My guest today carries real warmth into this, and I cannot wait to catch some sparks with her. So my guest tonight is Vicki Miller, who brings a bright, grounded energy to the work of helping people reconnect with their own aliveness. So welcome, Vicki. I'm honored to have you here on my show.

00:01:21 Vickie Miller: Thank you. Thank you for having me. Excited to be here.

00:01:25 Shreya: Thank you so much for joining. And just before we begin, a quick disclaimer for my listeners,

00:02:09 Shreya: And, uh, Vicki, first of all, I'm really happy to hear like, have you here and, uh, before we dive in, um, let us start like and warm, like, um, can you tell me one small thing this week? Just one that sparked a little joy in you, like something tiny that reminded you that it is good to be alive.

00:02:30 Vickie Miller: Ah, there's so many of those. Um, I'm just, you know, I, I think just even nature. I mean, seeing a butterfly, just the wildness of how the rainbow comes in. I mean, everything, every moment to me, I'm in gratitude. I just to wake up and have a breath and be able to. I look at the, at the whole earth as a playground. So I enjoy every day.

00:03:08 Shreya: Um, that that was beautifully said what you just shared with us and thank you for sharing this. And, uh, I want to start gently, like with your story. So can you take us back to a time when your own spark had quietly dimmed? Like when you looked up one day and realized the aliveness you used to carry had faded without you noticing? Can you can you walk us into what that was like? And what did you not yet understand at that time about how you had slowly drifted away from yourself?

00:03:42 Vickie Miller: Uh, well, I have five kids, so, um, if people, you know, I was told I couldn't have kids. And, uh, I was young when I had my oldest son. And I would say that was one of the biggest things. My biggest spark for my life was especially when you're told that you can't have kids. Now I have five. My first one was really when I saw. When I went to the doctor and the doctor, I thought I was sick. I didn't know that I was pregnant, I was twenty one at the time, and I didn't know that. And I went in and I thought he would come back and tell me like, you know, give me a prescription for something. But instead he came back and told me I was pregnant. And that was a wow moment. And then the, the biggest well, moment I will say is when I saw the fetus, when I saw the heartbeat into my my belly. I just think it's a miracle in how the whole thing was. And that's when my eyes really opened up to life and to love and to wellness and to like how, how miracles happen. And so I would say that is the biggest thing that ever happened to me was just seeing that it was I was in awe, especially when you're told, you know, you didn't think you could have kids and you find out that you're not sick, you're pregnant.

00:05:02 Shreya: Uh, yeah. Like, what was the moment that you thought that the spark was not gone? It was just underneath somewhere.

00:05:12 Vickie Miller: Oh, I've had lots of those. You know, I've had lots of those. Um. You know, I just think whole life you, you go through these you wonderful moments and then, you know, reality of what you think is reality comes in and kind of wipes it away. Uh, so, you know, I would say, you know, I didn't have always a very easy marriage. I am, I am divorced now, but, um, there was a lot of, of angry moments from my ex-husband that would kind of take my spark away. And that was his goal. So I would say that was the time when it, it, you know, you're this positive bright and you expect wonderful things. But when you have people around you that see the glass half full, it it sucks. It sucks you dry. So I've had many of those moments.

00:06:03 Shreya: Yeah. I think there is something really honest in admitting that the spark dimmed quietly rather than dramatically because, uh, that is how usually happens. Like not in crash, but in a slow fade, you barely register. Like what strikes me is that the thing that hinted you that your spark was still alive but was small, like, almost easy to miss. And yet you noticed that. And, uh, let us go a little deeper, because losing your spark usually has a reason underneath it. Something more than just being busy. So I'm really curious, like when you look honestly at what in your life, what was really going on beneath the surface. Like what was draining the life out of you that the business was actually hiding?

00:06:54 Vickie Miller: Well, I think, you know, I, this is I actually have Scottish retreats and that's what we are. That's one of my things is awaken the Magic, which is your spark. So I do believe that we have sparks that we have that wow. And that magic. And it's a life. Life comes in of the bills and the stress and then other people and we have other we have expectations. And I feel like it was a lot of expectations, especially in relationships or with your children or, you know, you have these expectations and you expect others to be like you. And when the or or you're expecting them to look a certain way and when they don't, when they fall flat at that, because you have expectations, that's when your spark gets dimmed, because it's usually disappointment of an attachment that that didn't do it for you, because everything comes from within. And, you know, that's what I started seeing was this thing isn't going to bring my spark out. I have to bring my own spark out. I have to make that choice and decision right now to be happy and to live, you know, through gratitude. And so over the years, I just think for, for me at least, and this is my people that I coach too is, you know, it's the every day, like you're, you're expectations and you're expecting that thing to make you happy or that relationship or, you know, that person that you're looking for love. And it doesn't, it shows up in what you think it is. But then that spark just dies because of the expectation that you thought that that would make you happy.

00:08:26 Shreya: And that deeper thing underneath that tiredness, say more about it because I think a lot of people, uh, mistake it for simply being, uh, worn out. And I, I, I want to bring this right into ordinary life because parks are not reserved for big moments. They are hiding in a regular Tuesday. So can you walk us into where you find your sparks now in everyday life, like in the small pockets of a normal day? Where do you catch those little flickers of aliveness and how do you make space for them when life is full and pulling you at from every directions?

00:09:07 Vickie Miller: Yeah. Well, for me, um, I am, you know, I'm very creative. I write books, I, uh, channel, I connect to spirit daily through meditation. So my spark is really going into a higher source that is connecting. First thing in the morning, I will meditate and that will really bring my energy, my frequency up before I even turn on any electronics or anything, because that will totally drown you. Um, and then my other thing is if I am feeling like I need a little umph that day to, to move me through and to bring it out is, is I'm a painter. I love to paint and I wasn't always good at it. Still, you know, it's more about the playfulness. And so mine is always going in with my little girl and seeing what she wants to do. Because all of us are. Our inner child is always here to heal us. So when I go into the inner child and it might be just going out and going for a walk with my dog, or it could be painting. But creative play is my biggest way. Or even going out and dancing, or just turning on the music and jamming and dancing in my own home. So that brings out it not only opens me up emotionally, but physically too.

00:10:17 Shreya: And also on the days when even the small sparks fell out of reach. When nothing seems to light you up, what do you do that time?

00:10:28 Vickie Miller: Wow. Um. I nature nature's my jam. So I will go outside, hug a tree. Just just be I. I try to turn it to gratitude because there's no guarantee of tomorrow. There's no guarantee the next moment. So I always go back to gratitude and I start just blessing my life and looking around and seeing all the things that I already have and just telling myself like, wow, look how much I have here. And just being in gratitude, which will open me up.

00:10:58 Shreya: I love that you find your spark in the small pockets of an ordinary day, because that is where they actually live. Like not in some special occasion, but in the cup of coffee, the song, the nature, the two minutes sun. I like what you said about that. days like when even the small sparks feel out of reach, that honesty really matters because some days the light really is hard to find, and pretending otherwise helps no one. And thank you for sharing this. And, um, let us make this usable for person like listening who spark has quietly gone out and who wants it back. So when you are helping someone reignite their aliveness, where do you have them start? Like what is the small first doable spark you point them toward? And how does following that little spark build back into a soul that feels lit up again?

00:11:55 Vickie Miller: Uh, yeah. Well, the number one thing is getting authentic because authenticity is shedding the layers of all of the indoctrinated or being told what we're to believe, or being told to do things for others. And so when you come back to yourself and your own heart space and your own love, you transition, and that's where the spark will come up, because a lot of times it is buried because we had to do everything for everybody else and looking for those expectations and all that. So we'll go into the layers. So I always go back to your inner child and we'll go back to what year because we're we all will have inner child healing to do. And so once you go back to that year that that little girl or little boy feels suppressed or started, you know, not, um, started taking on life, that's where you're going to find the joy and the spark. And it's going to start coming up just like a flower. So it'll start blossoming again.

00:12:51 Shreya: And like, what is the part people resist the most? Like the small spark they keep telling themselves is too silly or too small to matter.

00:13:03 Vickie Miller: Yeah. I mean, that's the biggest thing. We start to believe we're too small. And, uh, yeah, so the biggest thing is we're scared to shine our light. So we're scared to shine our light. Because we were raised, you know, to be quiet, to be a good girl, be a good boy, and to be told what to do. And so then we become this regiment of really like robots. And so when you get into feelings, so a lot of people don't haven't been feeling. So the biggest thing is to feel your spark. You've got to feel. And a lot of times we just kind of numb that out. So when you get back to feeling how do I feel and not judging the feelings? You may feel angry, you may feel angry because you've been holding on to all this stuff and you haven't been able to express it. So it's getting it out. It's not projecting that person. But sometimes the spark is, is, is just a feeling, which isn't always coming from love because just even anger. And there's just a little teeny tiny percent change between anger and the catalyst of the anger to shift you into love so that sometimes it could come. It's just really a feeling.

00:14:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, I.

00:14:07 Shreya: Think there is wisdom in starting with something small enough that it feels almost too easy because people wait for the grand gesture and the grand gesture never comes. They buy. The tiny spark is available right now. And like what you said, people dismiss as too silly or too small is exactly the thing. Because we have been taught the only big things count. And when really the small sparks are the entire path back and you are giving people permissions to follow the little flickers. And that's really interesting. And I, I, um, genuinely, uh, want to know because, uh, reigniting your spark is not a one time fix. Life dims it again, stress and routine creeps back in. And one day you notice the light has faded once more. So can you tell me, uh, how you handle that? Like when your spark goes out again after you have already done the work of finding it? How do you find your way back without feeling like you are starting from zero?

00:15:08 Vickie Miller: Uh. So it's rebirthing. And, you know, that's the whole big thing is everything's going to grow and shed and rebirth. And it's, you know, a lot of times people get bored. It's boredom and it's really they've outgrown a situation or outgrown a, um, you know, a job or a relationship. And so they're really longing for a newness, a new spark. And so that is really diving into creativity. So anytime that I, I feel this, then I'm like, all right, let me go paint, let me go find a new hobby. Let me get out of my comfort zone and do something new. Because getting out of your comfort zone is growth. So that's where that new spark will come in. And getting it into like doing something new, even if it's like just, I'm going to go up in front of yoga class. Normally I sit in the back, but I'm going to change it up so I can get into that new energy and a hobby or something, a dance lesson, you know, something fresh and new will always bring my spark up. I just know everything's going to work out for me because it always does. I'll look back and I'll look back into my life and be like, wow, I, you know, I went through that catastrophe and everything worked out. And I just have this trust and faith in a higher power that is going to work out. So it's going back into being present with myself instead of looking into the future. Because when you look into the future, that puts a lot of fear into us because in stress and attachments. So I bring it back and, um, I, you know, bring it back to looking in and seeing like, wow, everything's always worked out for me. me. Why won't work out for me now?

00:16:47 Speaker 3: Yes, I think.

00:16:47 Shreya: That honesty really matters because the quick version pretends pretends you find your spark and keep it forever. And you told the truth. I think that that it deems again. And, uh, it's it's just a part of being human. Like what you said about the spark going out again and not meaning you are back at the start, only that you know, the way back now. Like I think a lot of people need that tonight because the second fade is what makes people give give up entirely. Like you, you have learned that relighting your soul is a skill you keep. And if someone listening feels their spark has gone out and they do not know how to get it back, what is one thing you most want them to walk away holding tonight?

00:17:37 Vickie Miller: Yeah. So if if they're at that you know part of not feeling it. It's definitely start movement. Moving. And I'm talking literally moving. So moving energetically out of that, that feeling and getting back into gratitude. Gratitude will, will shift everything in your life and also doing something new, which means it could even just be like starting to scribble or, or, or writing out something. Journaling is also really good too. So anything at all that obviously it's moving out of the energy you're in because to transform your life, you have to transform the energy. So to bring the spark back in, I would, you know, do something new, paint, create, get into your inner child, sing, shout, chant, move your body, go for a walk, anything at all to get into movement of a new energy.

00:18:34 Shreya: That's beautiful. And thank you for sharing this information with our audience. And thank you so much, Vicky. This is a really, really amazing and a really needed conversation in today's world, I think. And if after this, my listeners want to connect with you and want to learn more about you and about your work, then what's the best place to find you?

00:18:55 Vickie Miller: Uh, my website Viki. It's spelled V I c k I e and then dash like a phone dash miller dot com. So viki dash miller dot com. I'm on Instagram. Viki. Luna Miller. I have a podcast myself on Spotify called The Magical Video Show. And I am on, um, on Facebook and everywhere out there, but the easiest places to go to my website, viki dot com.
