Motherhood gets hard, entrepreneurship gets hard, but together we can do hard things. Welcome to the suite. Hey friend, thank you so much for being here.

You know, here on the podcast our content is really laser focused to speak to the mom in business, right? But that can look a lot of different ways.

You could be a work from home mompreneur who does the whole homeschooling thing and you are caretaking for your children 100%. Or you could be a part time entrepreneur and you work full time outside of the household and your children are in daycare.

Or you could be a single mom trying to navigate running your business and raising your child. Maybe you are a divorced mom and you're trying to navigate what life looks like now as a single mother.

Maybe you are a mom who is now a part of a blended family and you're trying to navigate that as you are running your business.

And so while the different circumstances of your mom life might look different, one thing is constant between all of those different scenarios and it's that trying to, quote, unquote, balance life as a mom and life as a business owner presents some challenges.

You know, I have not experienced all of those scenarios, so I might not specifically understand your day to day and what you're going through and what you're feeling.

But I do want to let you know that you are not alone, that you are seen and that you know your feelings are valid and I just want you to be encouraged in your journey. But there are challenges with trying to navigate mom life and running a business.

And so what I'm going to be talking about today is how to simplify your business so that it fits into your life as a family focused mompreneur. And now I'm talking specifically about how to simplify your business.

Because when it comes to trying to simplify maybe home life or add structure or add guidance, there, it's not just you, there's other people who are involved.

And so that might be a little bit more challenging than trying to simplify your business where you have, you know, if not total main control over the things that happen in your business. And so we're going to get into four ways that you can kind of simplify your business so that it fits into your lifestyle.

When you begin simplifying, not only in your business, but other areas as well.

When you begin to simplify, this positions you to be able to be present with your family, to be able to focus on the things that truly matter in your life and in your business as well. It helps you to be able to avoid burnout.

And so I really would love for us to be able to shift into that place where we're building and running businesses that serves our lives and not the other way around. Okay, so let's get into these few key areas that you can look at to simplify in your business so that it fits into your life as a family focused mom.

So number one, your products and your services. You want to evaluate how and where you can simplify the things that you are offering in your business.

A lot of times we overstuff our offers right in the name of providing value. Maybe we have too many offers. And so how can you really simplify the products and the services that you are offering to your audience?

What this is looking like for me, I'm taking December to really think through all of these things, honestly, that I am talking about here today on the podcast.

And so when it comes to my products and my services, I'm thinking, how can I serve more people without spending more time doing it, but still hit income goals? So I'm thinking through what types of digital products I should add to my offers, because right now my main offer is a done for you offer.

And while I like doing those things, it is number one, time consuming and I'm not able to serve as many people. And so I'm thinking through, okay, what type of digital products would make sense for my audience and for my content?

Would that be some type of course, I already have a private podcast and some masterclasses, but something that's more just the holistic core message and takeaways of the Mom CEO suite. Would that be a course? Would that be a group program? Would that be a membership?

And so I'm thinking through what that would look like Also, do I need to position my done for you offer as something more premium?

Okay, so let me pause right here and give you actually the definition of simplify before we keep going on, because I think it'll help kind of put these things into context. And so Merriam Webster, they defined simplify as to reduce to basic essentials, to diminish in scope or complexity, to make more intelligible.

So to reduce to basic essentials, to diminish in scope or complexity, or to streamline, to make more intelligible or to clarify.

Okay, so when we take that definition and kind of put it into the context that we're talking about when it comes to your products and your services, how can you reduce it to basic essentials? Right? Going back to this whole idea that sometimes we overstuff our offers, does your audience really need all of those things that you are offering?

Do you need to kind of pack all of those things on? Do you need to offer bonuses? Do you need to offer all of the freebies, whatever the case may be?

How can you reduce what you are offering to basic essentials? What is actually needed? Where can we eliminate the fluffy stuff? Right? And then same thing, diminish in scope or complexity.

Are your concepts too complex? Do we need to simplify it so it's more intelligible for the audience that you are targeting? Right?

So think through your offers, think through some ideas of how you can make them simpler, how you can reduce them to basic essentials. Of course, you still want to make sure you are providing great value, right?

But providing value does not always mean there's a lot in number, a lot of things included. Okay? So that's the first area where you can simplify in your business is your products and your services.

The next area, of course, are your systems and your processes.

So first, when you're thinking about your processes, your step by step for how you do anything, where can you streamline, meaning where can you diminish the complexity of this process? Do you need all of those steps in your client onboarding process? Are there some things that can be consolidated?

Are there some things that can be taken away with you still being able to get to your end goal? Okay, so think about your processes, how you do anything and everything in your business and see, okay, how can I make this less complicated then it.

Then when it comes to your. Your systems, okay, once you look through your processes, then you can say where in terms of the tools that I'm using, right?

Because again, when I talk about systems, I'm talking about your Processes, your tools and your people. Where can I reduce my tools to the basic essentials?

So going back, if you're using a CRM I talked about, you know how to choose a CRM for your business. So does the CRM have the things that you need it to have, or is it a CRM that has all of the bells and whistles that you don't necessarily need?

So look at how you can simplify the tools that you are using. And then also in terms of simplification, how can you begin to automate things?

So you're making your workload simpler in terms of your systems and processes, right?

So if you're automating these things, your work workload becomes simpler because you are not manually having to do these things, or you are not manually having to remember the sequence of steps or what's included with this particular process, because you have this mapped out somewhere. So how can you begin to use some type of automation to simplify your workload, Right?

So that's all included in simplifying your systems and your processes. First, processes, do you need all of these steps? Can you consolidate? Can you take away?

And then when it comes to your tools, can you simplify your tools, can you get rid of some of these tools? Can you find ways to automate your processes so your workload becomes simpler?

Now, the next thing that I want to focus on just a larger area in your business that you can simplify, it's related to time management. And so this more so is about simplifying how you structure your day. So are there ways that you can simplify what you are doing in your day?

And this kind of is related also to the automation piece because things become simpler in your day when you are not having to manually handle all of these different tasks. But are there other ways that you can simplify the structure of your day?

You know, related to your time management, things like time blocking or batching your work, or creating structured work hours instead of just working randomly at all times.

That creates complexity in your day because you're bouncing from thing to thing to thing, whereas you don't really have that focused time to just sit and do your work.

I'm not going to say without distractions because if your kids are around, they are bound to distract you, but finding different ways to simplify how you structure your day or just make it make sense for you through time blocking, again through batching, or doing similar tasks at one time instead of bouncing from different types of tasks. So you can be more focused and you can be More productive again.

All of these things will help you simplify and reach that larger goal of being able to have the business that fits into your life as a family focused mom. And then the final thing that I want to mention in terms of simplification is mindset.

And I think when it comes to mindset, there's lots of shifts that we can have that will just improve this journey of navigating business and life as moms. And so I think one of the main things we need to let go of though, is this idea that more equals better. Okay?

Going back to the offers, going back to the systems and processes, more in your offer, more steps in your process does not necessarily mean that it, it is better. I think it's time for us to start embracing the idea of enough.

Even when it comes to time management, we think, okay, the more time I put into my business, the better it is going to be or the better results I'm going to get. And that's not necessarily true because you can be working from exhaustion and the quote unquote time that you put in was not productive time.

And so simplifying how we think about our business, how we think about our lives, letting go of the idea that more equals better, and embracing the idea of enough, like, okay, this offer has enough and it's still valuable. This tool does enough and it's still powerful. The work that I put in today, even if it was an hour, it was enough.

Because my priority is that my family remains number one and that this business is fitting into my life and not my life fitting into my business. Okay, so those are the four areas that you can look at to kind of simplify your business. Number one, products and services.

Number two, systems and processes. Number three, your time management or how you are structuring your day. And then number four, mindset.
