Ep. 43: Stage Veteran Gayle Turner Talks HAVING OUR SAY, THE WIZ, and So Much More

Broadway stage veteran Gayle Turner says she’s proud to bring HAVING OUR SAY: THE DELANY SISTERS' FIRST HUNDRED YEARS, a tale of divine sisterhood to the North Carolina Theatre stage, especially since the Delany Sisters’ story is woven into the fabric of Triangle history. Sadie and Bessie Delany were civil rights pioneers who were born to a former slave. For over a century, the pair bore witness to decades of American history from their family’s post-slavery years through the Civil Rights Movement right up to the time they died in the 1990s. Their story inspired a biography:

Having Our Say – Sarah L. Delany, A. Elizabeth Delany & Amy Hill Hearth.

Hear what she has to say about that, her time working on Broadway in THE WIZ and her secret to sustaining a long career in the entertainment industry.
