Let Go of the Things That Serve No Purpose in Your Life

I had to let go of some things and move them out of my life to be free!

0:07

Good evening and welcome to my humble podcast abode. I am Cocoa Griot, just a 50 something who loves to share ideas about life, love, and a host of other topics. Tonight, I want to talk about for a short time about moving day. Somehow I managed to move during the middle of a global pandemic. Even though that sounds like an amazing feat, it pales in comparison to my emotional moving day. Let me set the stage for you to grasp how monumental the task was. I found myself on the receiving end of an intense verbal attack at the hands of a person I love. If you listen to my currency of care podcast, you know, this was about a two minute conversation. I hung up the phone and decided I would break away from this person. I didn't curse them, I didn't raise my voice, I just simply moved away from them.

I was resolved, not to interact with this individual. Then the universe stepped in. The individual experienced a major hardship. I tried as hard as I could to stay out of the mix but it was impossible. There's a song about an icebox where my heart used to be, this is where I thought I was with the individual. When calls of distress rang out, I had to intervene. It was moving day. Tt was moving day for anger, resentment, and pride. When I saw this person in this incredible vulnerable state, compassion, we placed contempt. I had not realized how much this freed me. I spent 90 days in an emotional cellblock because I could not move away from the negative feelings. I realized that I chose to have those feelings. When I made a different choice the ultimate moving day represented freedom.

What are you holding on to today? Do you have resentments? Think about how it imprisons you more than the other person. Thank you for listening. And as always, I wish you good health, good fortune, and a goo night, Cocoa Griot out.
