Summary:

We are God's workmanship. He want's to create you according to His plan. We start with opening our heart and letting our prayer be,”Lord I turn away from what I am not. I turn to You to be what You want me to be.” As we turn to Him in thanksgiving, we simply ask Him for His nature to be created within us.

Show Notes:

  • Our daily walk with the Lord includes a persistent asking, Knocking and seeking His face.

  • In our repentance we come too another step of turning away from what we are not, and turning to Him for change.

  • We stop defending our nature and open up to the Lord to ask Him for a new nature.

  • As we turn to the Lord, our first step is to thank Him.

  • This new level of repentance is so positive and creative. We simply open up and ask the Lord to change us.

Quotes:

  • It's a daily getting up, Lord, I'm open to You today. And I ask, I keep asking, I keep knocking.

  • There's another step; and that's turning away from what we're not.

  • You are His workmanship. And He wants to do the job according to His plan. What you do is you say, “Father, create in me what I am not.”

  • So you quit defending your nature, quit defending who you are, and you simply ask the Lord, “Lord, change me.”

  • Lord, it's your choice, not mine. I turn to you, and repent for what I am not, I turn away from what I am not. And I turn to You to impart to me, to give me, put it in my heart, put it in my spirit, what You want.

  • The first step of receiving something from God is saying, “Thank You, Lord.” And then He'll help you with the rest of receiving it. You will be His workmanship every step of the way.

  • We change in worship. When you come before the Lord and say “Lord fill me, Lord make me Your son.” When we address Him face to face we say “it's You Lord I want to love.”

  • The new level of repentance. It's called turning to. It's that creative faith I guess you call it creative, open heart. “Just ask Me. Open up to Me. I'll displace all the other stuff.

  • That's a wonderful place to be, because if you can experience just one time in changing something in you. Wow! From that point on, the universe is yours.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Revelation 3:20

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

I Thessalonians 5:18

in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.

Take Away:

The next step in our relationship with the Lord is coming into a awareness of what we are not in our very nature. As we simply turn to Him in thanksgiving and worship, He begins to replace our nature with His.

Ron

I think people stop. They ask the Lord for something, but they don't continue. It's a daily getting up, Lord, I'm open to today. And I ask, I keep asking, I keep knocking. I think this is really important in this thing of transformation,

Dale

What you're talking about, is repenting, or turning away from what you are not. There was a time of we turn away from our sin. And we turn away from our mistakes, which are sin. There's another step; and that's turning away from what we're not. You are His workmanship. And He wants to do the job according to His plan. What you do is you say, “Father, create in me what I am not.” There is a thing that bothers a lot of people, it's called unanswered prayer. God, why don't you answer my prayers? But that is a serious problem, because people pray for what they want, need, and don't understand why He doesn't answer. It's because you need to start with opening your heart and let your prayer be: “Lord, I turn away from what I am not. And I turn to be what You want me to be.” That's a depth of repentance, or a depth of turning away. You might call it the next step. The next step is to realize I'm not, so it's a new level. It's a new level that I repent for what I am not. It's all positive. Lord, it's your choice, not mine. I turn to you, repent for what I am not, I turn away from what I am not. And I turn to You to impart to me to give me, put it in my heart, put it in my spirit, what You want. And I receive it. The first step of receiving something from God is saying, “Thank You, Lord.” And then He'll help you with the rest of receiving it. You will be His workmanship and every step of the way. You'll thank Him for that new heart, you'll thank Him for that spirit.

Ron

I think there's a real freedom in that. If you can come to the place of recognizing that you just don't cut it in yourself. It's okay, if you can come to the place of honesty of heart, You're holding the bar up here. I can't make it up there. I can't jump and make it that high. I can't do anything about that. So you quit defending your nature, quit defending who you are, and you simply ask the Lord, Lord, change me. I think it's good if it's specific. I need to love my wife more, and I just don't. I need to spend more time with my kids and love them and I am too busy. Be honest with yourself, right? Rather than defending yourself, justifying yourself, just open up and say, Lord, change me change my heart like Dale saying, put it in my heart. I think He's all over that. That's a wonderful place to be, because if you can experience just one time in changing something in you. Wow! From that point on, the universe is yours.

Dale

There's something that comes in as it says, Lord, I open my heart. Lord, I want the most of you I can possibly have. That's what I'm asking, Lord. Fill me. What about my walk with Him every day being a case of overflowing.

Ron

Yeah, there you go.

Dale

If I turn away from my inadequacies, where am I turning? I'm turning to that.

Ron

Right there. You just hit the key on the new level of repentance. It's called turning to. It's that creative faith I guess you call it creative, open heart. “Just ask Me. Open up to Me. I'll displace all the other stuff. Nothing can stand in His presence. God, there is such a joy in that. Ask for My nature, ask for My love. Ask for My joy. Just ask.” I'm asking!

Dale

You ask God for something, you know what He's gonna say? Who are you listening to? Are you listening to Me, son? And your response is, Yes, Lord. I'm listening to You. My focus is on You. My heart is set upon You. That's one of the ways we worship. Lord, my heart is set upon You. My heart cries for You to fill it. Fill me Lord, with Your spirit. Out of our worship, there's two places that we change. One is in the communion by walking out the offering of His blood and His body. The second place we change is in worship, when you come before the Lord and say, Lord fill me. Lord, make me into Your son, where we address Him face to face. It's you, Lord, I want. I love you, Lord, I want Your love. It's just you and Him. Where you sit down at His feet, and you just pour your heart out. He loves that.

Debbie

He loves when we say thank you too. Thank you for Your love and Your joy and Your peace. Thank you for being with me every day. I mean, there's so much to be thankful for.

Dale

Thanksgiving is a door opener to more.
