A Note On Transcriptions - In the interest of simplicity, I'm using Descript* to make podcast publishing as easy as possible. Jonathan Stewart:
One of the favorite things I hear from many quote unquote
Jonathan Stewart:
non systems people is the idea that, well, they don't have a system
Jonathan Stewart:
and their business working fine.
Jonathan Stewart:
This makes me so very excited.
Jonathan Stewart:
Once you don't think you have a system.
Jonathan Stewart:
You have a perfect system.
Jonathan Stewart:
Now, obviously there are things that you can do to tweak and
Jonathan Stewart:
improve things like your system.
Jonathan Stewart:
But if you don't feel you have a system and your businesses going
Jonathan Stewart:
in that direction, you want.
Jonathan Stewart:
At least most of the time.
Jonathan Stewart:
Congratulations.
Jonathan Stewart:
You've got an invisible system and they are so much fun and
Jonathan Stewart:
there is so much potential.
Jonathan Stewart:
Now, if you're interested to know more, you don't necessarily
Jonathan Stewart:
have to, but if you are, look for patterns in the way that you work.
Jonathan Stewart:
You'll be able to uncover what you needed to get enough out of your business.
Jonathan Stewart:
Simplicity.
Jonathan Stewart:
I had an old client chat to me recently and she was showing me how she had
Jonathan Stewart:
sticky notes on either side of her.
Jonathan Stewart:
One side for a particular section of things and the other for another.
Jonathan Stewart:
What I adored about this is that it was almost similar to the notion system
Jonathan Stewart:
I made for her years and years ago.
Jonathan Stewart:
It was completely custom designed to the way that my client worked and that
Jonathan Stewart:
has now been extended into her life.
Jonathan Stewart:
Often we talk about tech being one way and non-tech being the other.
Jonathan Stewart:
But you can actually use both because at the end of the day, the best kind
Jonathan Stewart:
of system is the one that is customized and really made to fit you and just
Jonathan Stewart:
because something is customized, it doesn't mean it has to have lots of
Jonathan Stewart:
different things and be overly busy and full of stuff like often what is
Jonathan Stewart:
talked about in the productivity world.
Jonathan Stewart:
Think back to the simple post-it notes on the left and the right.
Jonathan Stewart:
Her notion system started that process of her figuring out how she worked,
Jonathan Stewart:
because that was where she started.
Jonathan Stewart:
But now she's expanded.
Jonathan Stewart:
Beyond that.
Jonathan Stewart:
So even if her notion goes down, something else will work for her.
Jonathan Stewart:
She's able to really work with herself!
Jonathan Stewart:
We are bombarded by hundreds of things each day.
Jonathan Stewart:
People telling us the best form or type of app for productivity.
Jonathan Stewart:
But the best solution is rarely an application instead of something
Jonathan Stewart:
that's based on how we work instead of starting from an app or program that
Jonathan Stewart:
promises something big, start from you.
Jonathan Stewart:
Figure out the way that you work.
Jonathan Stewart:
Need help with that.
