Transcripts

Speaker A:

Here's what's coming up on around the house Saturday.

Speaker A:

Next up here is something you can do in the bedroom.

Speaker A:

You can do it anywhere in the house, living room, wherever.

Speaker A:

But new smart blinds.

Speaker A:

I ordered some new ones for this weekend show here that we did from Lutron.

Speaker A:

And this is their casita wireless.

Speaker A:

Basically, they are battery powered bluetooth roller shades.

Speaker A:

So if you think about it, you put the Lutron app on your phone, and now you can control the blinds.

Speaker A:

You can set up schedules.

Speaker A:

So at:

Speaker A:

If you want them to open up or close, you can control those.

Speaker A:

And they're really good for high ceilings too, because nobody wants to get up there or have long cords hanging down.

Speaker A:

And what's cool is they have batteries in these things, and they take a lot of batteries.

Speaker A:

They take 8d batteries, the ones I was putting in there, which is great.

Speaker A:

And they last years with normal use, so you're not throwing a lot of batteries at it, which means you.

Speaker A:

We've been talking today about designing a kitchen and finishing the project.

Speaker A:

We were just talking about hiring a designer and getting this project off on the right foot.

Speaker A:

Now, the next part here is super important, and we started to talk about this a little bit.

Speaker A:

Cabinetry.

Speaker A:

And let's give a little primer on cabinetry.

Speaker A:

If you haven't seen cabinetry out there, really thought about it.

Speaker A:

There's three different styles of cabinets that you see out there in the United States.

Speaker A:

Typically you see an american face frame where you have this one by two face frame that goes around the cabinet face of the box, and of course the doors overlay that.

Speaker A:

And those doors are gonna be called either a full overlay where there's like a 316 gap between them, or on lesser expensive cabinets, you'll have what they call a half overlay, where the doors are only overlaying that face frame by a half.

Speaker A:

All that and more on Saturday's around the house show with Eric G.

Speaker A:

Heard on any podcast player.

Speaker A:

And don't forget, you could be listening to the show right now.
