Shownotes
How do you feel about selling? Does it make you cringe just thinking about it or are you totally comfortable with it? One of the main reasons you even started your podcasting journey is because you want to help people and build relationships with your audience. But it’s also totally okay to acknowledge that you’d like your podcast to make you some money. In episode 28, we talked about 3 ways to monetize your podcast, including creating a paid community, getting paid sponsors, and my favorite option, being your own sponsor. If you have a business, that means you have products, resources, online courses, memberships, or services that already exist, so I want you to view your podcast as a way to drive people to those paid offerings.
In today’s episode, we will talk about how to sell your offerings on your podcast in a way that feels good to you. There are a lot of strong opinions about the best way to sell on both sides of the spectrum, from keeping your offerings a secret to selling 24/7. But there is a middle ground between these two opinions, and it is possible to promote your offerings on your show in a way that feels natural and gives your audience an opportunity to buy the products that they need. Just because you talk about your offerings on social media or share them with the people on your email list doesn’t mean the people who are listening to your show have seen your promotions. People need to hear about an offering 7-14 times before they take action and make a purchase. Your podcast is the perfect place to promote your offerings to your audience.
