In part 3 of his series on the Holy Spirit, Warren distinguishes the importance of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives and how it differs from the work of Christ in us.

The Holy Spirit and the Final Gospel

 By Tammy Lacock

“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me.” (John 16:8-9, KJV)

The above verse is Jesus talking about the Holy Spirit coming to teach us the true meaning of righteousness, judgment, and sin in the world.

He points out that not believing on Him is the ultimate sin. He tells us that the Holy Spirit will comfort us in this truth and in the truth that when we believe, we are instantly born again (John 3:3) Therefore, our past no longer defines who we are. Jesus is birthed in us, becoming our only life and our new identity. Paul plainly states this new identity in Galatians 2:20, which says I am crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live but Christ liveth in me.

This is the final gospel which has been solely entrusted to the Apostle Paul in the Bible. He was given this message of our in-Christ position by Christ to teach it to the Church. It is in over 140 verses in the New Testament. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to open and renew our minds with this liberating truth, the purest message of Jesus. For Christ in us makes us know what salvation is, which is Eternal Life. And it all begins the moment we believe.
