Shownotes

We spoke to Kamille Magante, MPH Student at San Diego State University several months ago about Filipinx History and Heritage in the context of public health.

Kamille shares her public health story of how she began in biological studies and joined her efforts for public health through COVID vaccine studies and the MPH.

In discussing FIlipinx culture, Kamille shares the context of history in public health and how much of the history of social determinants in food, nutrition, and chronic diseases has been connected with colonization. Kamille also shares what the journey for well-being has looked like for migrations from the Philippines to the United States and back again for members of the community seeking quality of life. Join us for this fascinating discussion which we also share in the Honoring Women of Color Podcast. Kamille, we honor you and thank you for sharing these stories with us.
