Pouring Out Joy – Wisdom Unplugged

Wisdom - the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1540 of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.

Today’s quote is from Henry Ward Beecher, and it is, "Live to shed joys on others."

Pouring Out Joy

In the quote today we understand the word shed here is living in a deliberate and chosen manner in which you are pouring joy out of yourselves so that it will cascade from you and envelope others, bathing them in joy. As we have noted in the past, your joy is not dependent on how pleasant and unencumbered your life is, but on that internal intrinsic knowledge that God is in control of your life. And you can peacefully rest in that fact.

When you have real joy, then you can pour that joy on others any time you have the opportunity to do so. We need to live in such a way that our lives continually are bubbling over with joy. When that joy is splashing from our lives continuously, it will naturally pour out to others. We should never become weary sharing our joy because our lives are full of joy at all times, regardless of what we may be experiencing on any given day.

As an example of this, the Apostle Paul had this to say about the church in Macedonia in 2 Corinthians 8:2.

They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.

He later wrote these encouraging words to the church in Galatia in Galatians 6:9.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

That’s a wrap for today’s Wisdom Unplugged quote. If you would like free access to my database of over 11,000 inspirational quotes, the link is available on the main page of Wisdom-Trek.com.
