Shownotes

David Spoon dives into the theme of restoration and honesty in our relationship with God, emphasizing the importance of acknowledging our shortcomings and seeking His help. He reflects on Psalm 60, where David expresses despair over Israel's defeats and pleads for God’s restoration and favor. Spoon highlights how the Jewish and Christian faiths uniquely recognize failures, promoting a culture of transparency rather than false legacies. He encourages listeners to come before the Lord sincerely, owning up to mistakes and asking for healing. Throughout the discussion, Spoon stresses that true restoration is rooted in humility and the understanding that we are God's beloved, deserving of His love and redemption.

The podcast led by Dr. David Spoon delves into the intricacies of faith, community, and personal reflection, all wrapped in a humorous and engaging narrative. Kicking off with a light-hearted disclaimer, Dr. Spoon immediately sets a tone of authenticity and relatability, inviting listeners to explore their spiritual journeys. He poses the intriguing question of which New Testament book resonates most with them, encouraging listeners to reflect on their relationship with scripture. This question serves as a catalyst for deeper discussions about faith, personal experiences, and the importance of acknowledging both triumphs and struggles in one's walk with God.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Spoon weaves humor with serious reflections, using biblical examples to illustrate his points about human vulnerability and the need for divine intervention. He emphasizes that true growth comes from recognizing our shortcomings and seeking God's restoration. By drawing parallels between biblical narratives and contemporary life, he invites listeners to engage with their faith on a personal level, reminding them that even the most esteemed biblical figures faced challenges and required God's grace. His candid approach encourages listeners to come before God with honesty, fostering an environment where true healing and restoration can occur.

Dr. Spoon also highlights the importance of community in the Christian faith, urging listeners to share their stories, praise reports, and prayer requests. He emphasizes that such interactions are vital for encouragement and accountability within the body of Christ. As the episode progresses, the audience is invited to engage through trivia questions and calls, reinforcing the idea that faith is a communal journey. The episode concludes with a sense of connection and an invitation to deepen one's understanding of scripture and community, leaving listeners both challenged and inspired to reflect on their spiritual lives.

ad an introduction for a show:

David Spoon:

It's just not gonna happen.

David Spoon:

That's the key.

David Spoon:

We don't know what we're doing.

David Spoon:

We have no idea what's gonna happen.

David Spoon:

We don't care.

We're asking questions about living life as a Christian.

David Spoon:

That thingy right there.

David Spoon:

Don't take life so seriously.

David Spoon:

You don't make goofies.

David Spoon:

Come on, people.

David Spoon:

Here's your question.

David Spoon:

It's a good question.

David Spoon:

You don't have to feel pride when you answer this question.

David Spoon:

It's just a genuine inquiry as to your own life.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book do you know the best?

David Spoon:

That's a really good question.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book might be one of the Gospels, might be the book of Acts, might be a Paulinian epistle, might be a general epistle, might be revelation.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book do you know the best honest answer?

David Spoon:

Very enlightening.

David Spoon:

Simple.

David Spoon:

If you have an answer to that, an opinion, a comment, a thought, or a question, please don't let it die of loneliness.

David Spoon:

Just reach out and give us a holla.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Talking to Jim and Jacob, ladies and gentlemen, that's like feeling confident that you have done your.

Jim:

Thank you, David.

Jim:

Happy Wednesday.

David Spoon:

Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.

David Spoon:

That was quite the introduction.

David Spoon:

I think it's because you turned the lights off on me in the bathroom that that's what created that.

David Spoon:

My mind has been three seconds behind ever since.

David Spoon:

What do you think?

Jim:

Yes, definitely on me.

Jim:

I apologize.

Jim:

That was funny.

Jim:

I wasn't sure what was going on.

Jim:

I thought over different intro today, but.

David Spoon:

No, no, no, not a different intro.

David Spoon:

Just a different brain moving at different paces in different places.

David Spoon:

That's kind of how this show goes.

David Spoon:

You guys should be used to that by now.

David Spoon:

Hey, it's simple.

David Spoon:

By the way, you do have an answer in there somewhere.

David Spoon:

And I think it's a very good question.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book do you know the best?

David Spoon:

Now, it's amazing that most people haven't popped up and said Philemon or Jude since they're pretty short or two John or three John.

David Spoon:

But just asking the question.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book do you know the best?

David Spoon:

You know, you can reach out to us by telephone.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

We'll do it a little slower because we haven't done that in several months.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

Additionally, you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org all one thing.

David Spoon:

Davidhemustincrease from John 3:30.

David Spoon:

He must increase, I must decrease.org Nonprofit corporation.

David Spoon:

Very simple.

David Spoon:

You can call us, you can text us, you can email us.

David Spoon:

Why would you do that?

David Spoon:

Well, you can answer that question.

David Spoon:

What New Testament book do you know the best?

David Spoon:

You're not being prideful.

David Spoon:

It's like, that's the one I know the best or I've read it the most.

David Spoon:

I feel like I'm more connected to that for whatever reason.

David Spoon:

Excellent question.

David Spoon:

Right.

David Spoon:

Additionally, maybe you've got a praise report.

David Spoon:

Tell me, did the Lord do anything in your life in the last 24 hours?

David Spoon:

Have you shared that?

David Spoon:

Well, that's an opportunity to share it.

David Spoon:

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

David Spoon:

And when you share, what happens?

David Spoon:

Well, it reinforces it in your own life.

David Spoon:

It blesses your brothers and sisters, but most importantly, it honors God.

David Spoon:

And Isaiah 43:7 makes it clear that we were created for the glory of God.

David Spoon:

This is an opportunity to bring glory to the Lord.

David Spoon:

That's simple.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've got a prayer request.

David Spoon:

We like praying because we believe God answers prayers.

David Spoon:

And I like that understanding.

David Spoon:

Look, if you don't believe God answers prayers, he's not answering your prayer because it takes faith.

David Spoon:

But we believe he does answer prayers.

David Spoon:

And so we pray with confidence.

David Spoon:

With surrender, but with confidence.

David Spoon:

Maybe you've just had something you want to share.

David Spoon:

Maybe there's something on your mind.

David Spoon:

Maybe there's something that's just affecting you or really touching you or really challenging you.

David Spoon:

Great.

David Spoon:

Bring it, Share it.

David Spoon:

This is brothers and sisters time.

David Spoon:

It's very simple.

David Spoon:

Our goal is to encourage one another as we see the day of Jesus Christ getting closer and closer.

David Spoon:

And my friends, it is getting closer and closer.

David Spoon:

Even if you're feeling optimistic, do not miss that.

David Spoon:

The day of the return of Jesus Christ is closer today than it was yesterday and closer yesterday than it was the day before.

David Spoon:

So perhaps that is something that is on your heart and mind.

David Spoon:

I do want to remind people, and I think it's very important that we're praying for our leaders.

David Spoon:

We do this often.

David Spoon:

This is not something that's, oh, this has just come up in the last two days.

David Spoon:

No, we believe in praying for our leaders.

David Spoon:

And I think it's really important this year to be praying for the spiritual leaders who are impacting our other leaders, that there'd be no agenda in their hearts, in their minds, and that they would communicate the best they can the counsel and the will of God, because that's what we want.

David Spoon:

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.

David Spoon:

Consequently, not.

David Spoon:

Blessed is the nation whose God is not the Lord.

David Spoon:

Get it?

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's how that works.

David Spoon:

So let's keep that in mind.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, after you've listened to this intro, and if you're still listening, I could give you a dollar if I had one.

David Spoon:

And you deserve one, but you're not going to get one.

David Spoon:

We're going to be starting off in Psalm 60.

David Spoon:

So we are at Psalm 60.

David Spoon:

And this is a psalm from David.

David Spoon:

Let me open it up and we will get into the teaching.

David Spoon:

Here's what it says and get ready, because it's an interesting nationalistic style Psalm David says this.

David Spoon:

O God, you have cast us off.

David Spoon:

You have broken us down.

David Spoon:

You have been displeased.

David Spoon:

O restore us again.

David Spoon:

You've made the earth tremble, you have broken it.

David Spoon:

Heal its breaches for its shaking, for you have shown your people hard things and have made us drink the wine of confusion or actually staggering.

David Spoon:

But that's okay.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

We enter Psalm 60.

David Spoon:

David offers up an urgent prayer for a restored favor that comes from God.

David Spoon:

As we look at verse one, we can tell David is talking about him and the nation of Israel.

David Spoon:

And they are expressing despair after enduring some defeats and some losses.

David Spoon:

Think about this.

David Spoon:

Think about this.

David Spoon:

The Jewish and the Christian faiths are among the few, if not the only, that acknowledge failures.

David Spoon:

Did you know that in history books for many, many groups and many, many religions, they never discuss oopsies.

David Spoon:

Isn't that interesting?

David Spoon:

It's somewhat fascinating, but God's historical record, always portraying a nation in favorable light.

David Spoon:

But in the wisdom of God, he also shows all successes and failures.

David Spoon:

And you might be thinking, why?

David Spoon:

And it's really simple.

David Spoon:

Ready?

David Spoon:

No false legacies.

David Spoon:

Do you know what people do when they're trying to create a false legacy?

David Spoon:

They make things look better than they are so everybody will be impressed.

David Spoon:

That's part of the problem with social media and a lot of these other things.

David Spoon:

Everybody's always showing off the best moments.

David Spoon:

In fact, when you take a family picture, everybody smiles.

David Spoon:

Even if that family 15 minutes ago was throwing food at each other.

David Spoon:

What is it?

David Spoon:

It's a portrayal, but it ain't true.

David Spoon:

It's better if we're just honest about it.

David Spoon:

And David, being honest about it, says, you've cast us off.

David Spoon:

We're not doing so well.

David Spoon:

We need some help.

David Spoon:

And his petition is for him and for his nation, but he's not denying that they need help.

David Spoon:

You've been displeased, Lord.

David Spoon:

Oh, restore us again.

David Spoon:

Now you take this and you bring it into a personal application as well.

David Spoon:

And this is the kind of thing where you come before the Lord and you don't do the dance of fake righteousness.

David Spoon:

You do the dance of truth.

David Spoon:

And the dance of truth says, lord, I cannot believe I said that.

David Spoon:

I cannot believe I did that.

David Spoon:

I cannot believe I thought that.

David Spoon:

Please don't be displeased with me.

David Spoon:

Please restore me, Please bring me back.

David Spoon:

I'm sorry if we are unable to say we're sorry.

David Spoon:

There's a whole nother issue going on, and it has to do with pride.

David Spoon:

And God hates pride.

David Spoon:

So what we need to do is come before the Lord personally, collectively as a family, collectively as a community, as a church.

David Spoon:

I'm trying to figure out how many times churches come before the Lord and open up the entire service going, lord, we're sorry we've not done all that you've brought before us.

David Spoon:

That's how they start.

David Spoon:

This is what David is praying for.

David Spoon:

The actual for the nation of Israel, saying, oh, Lord, don't cast us off.

David Spoon:

I mean, we're broken down here, Lord, you did it.

David Spoon:

And you're displeased because of some of the things that we did, some of the things that we approached.

David Spoon:

Restore us again.

David Spoon:

Because restoration is part of God's character.

David Spoon:

He brings back that which is lost.

David Spoon:

He restores that which has been stolen or taken or let go.

David Spoon:

In verse two, he says, you have made the earth tremble.

David Spoon:

You've broken it.

David Spoon:

Heal its breaches for its shaking.

David Spoon:

You've shown your people hard things.

David Spoon:

Ooh, hard things.

David Spoon:

You know, I've got to tell you, I was doing a nice study today in some of my prep that's coming down for Genesis.

David Spoon:

You just have to think about this in Genesis 15, where Abraham is before the Lord and the Lord's already pronounced him righteous, and they just have this friendship going, and Abraham's doing a great job.

David Spoon:

But then God in Genesis 15 at the end of the chapter shows Abraham, hey, your people, your nation, gonna be in slavery for 400 years.

David Spoon:

Wow, that's dark.

David Spoon:

That's a hard thing, right?

David Spoon:

Part of the plan, but part of the thing.

David Spoon:

And so sometimes we think of these things that are going on, and it's like, that's a dark element.

David Spoon:

God is showing him that the reality is, sometimes the Lord shows.

David Spoon:

Hey, this is bad.

David Spoon:

Hey, this is wrong.

David Spoon:

Hey, this is not good.

David Spoon:

I think of that situation that happened yesterday with president and with the vice president and with that false bishop that was making all those comments.

David Spoon:

It's like that person was not talking about biblical Jesus.

David Spoon:

That person was talking about socialistic, political, religious Jesus, not Bible Jesus.

David Spoon:

2nd Corinthians 11:4 makes it clear there are false Jesuses.

David Spoon:

We better be aware of that as the people of God.

David Spoon:

And so the Lord is showing, and the Lord is making this clear to David.

David Spoon:

And David's like going, wow, no, we need some help.

David Spoon:

There's no false legacy here, Lord.

David Spoon:

What there is is us not Doing everything the right way.

David Spoon:

And you know what, Lord?

David Spoon:

We acknowledge it.

David Spoon:

In verse one, Dave's making a plea acknowledging their losses because God has cast them off and broken them down.

David Spoon:

His petition is to be restored.

David Spoon:

This is not blaming God.

David Spoon:

It's asking God to bring restoration.

David Spoon:

Something in the nation was not quite right in the nation and in the leadership.

David Spoon:

And the true solution was for God to bring to light that which displeases him.

David Spoon:

That's why he says, you've shown your people hard things instead of being a people.

David Spoon:

Look, do you love the country?

David Spoon:

I love this country.

David Spoon:

Great country.

David Spoon:

Phenomenal.

David Spoon:

I'd rather live here than any other country.

David Spoon:

There is no country on this earth that is perfect.

David Spoon:

We understand that.

David Spoon:

Lord, forgive us for when we do dumb things.

David Spoon:

And as Nehemiah and Ezra, making it clear that the nation had done dumb things, the repentance was called for by the Lord.

David Spoon:

So not just for a nation, which people think, well, you're getting a little bit of a break now.

David Spoon:

It may be, but we better keep a very humble, very tight heart before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Because it doesn't take a lot for a nation to go rogue on God.

David Spoon:

Even the very people of God within one generation forgot the works of the Lord.

David Spoon:

Can't do that.

David Spoon:

We can't afford that.

David Spoon:

We need to be that people that humble ourselves before the Lord.

David Spoon:

Acknowledge if we've failed in something, bring it before the Lord for restoration, for redemption, for healing.

David Spoon:

Some of us have done things and we've just kind of swept them under.

David Spoon:

Just sweep that under the rock and not pay attention.

David Spoon:

I think it's a pretty good idea to sit there and say, you know what?

David Spoon:

I did that wrong.

David Spoon:

I own it.

David Spoon:

Please forgive me.

David Spoon:

Please restore me.

David Spoon:

That's putting ourselves in a place where God is truly king in our lives.

David Spoon:

If you've done something, don't go hiding.

David Spoon:

Bring it to the Lord.

David Spoon:

Ask for healing.

David Spoon:

Some of you have done things and you're still ashamed of them.

David Spoon:

You want to know why?

David Spoon:

Because you haven't brought it before the Lord and laid it out on the altar.

David Spoon:

And if you have brought it before the Lord and laid it out on the altar and then it keeps getting thrown back in your face, it's time for you and I to remember that it's the devil that's the accuser of the brethren.

David Spoon:

And once you are under that position where, you know, I've acknowledged this before the Lord, you don't let the enemy take control of that.

David Spoon:

You don't let the enemy keep throwing things in your face.

David Spoon:

You Stand on the restoring nature of our king and our Lord.

David Spoon:

He loves you.

David Spoon:

He loves you.

David Spoon:

He chose you.

David Spoon:

He picked you.

David Spoon:

He selected you.

David Spoon:

He wants you be the kind of son or daughter.

David Spoon:

He wants you to be straightforward, honest, upright.

David Spoon:

I've done so many things wrong.

David Spoon:

I don't list everything.

David Spoon:

By the way, I know some people are like, you can't list everything.

David Spoon:

I don't.

David Spoon:

Here's what I do.

David Spoon:

Here's what the scripture says.

David Spoon:

If we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

David Spoon:

I confess what's at the forefront.

David Spoon:

Oh, man, I can't believe I did this.

David Spoon:

Can't believe I said this.

David Spoon:

Can't believe I said this about this person who was one of your kids.

David Spoon:

What a dummy.

David Spoon:

Please forgive me for that and for every other dumb thing I've done.

David Spoon:

Hey, that's exactly what the scripture says.

David Spoon:

If we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

David Spoon:

Bring it to the Lord.

David Spoon:

Let him bring that restoration.

David Spoon:

Let him bring that redemption.

David Spoon:

Some of you are stuck because you haven't acknowledged it.

David Spoon:

Don't do that.

David Spoon:

That's exactly what David is standing against.

David Spoon:

He's like, look, we've done wrong.

David Spoon:

We're sorry.

David Spoon:

And I love that the Jewish nation and the Christian nation record their failures because it also records God's restoration and redemption.

David Spoon:

Right?

David Spoon:

That's pretty cool.

David Spoon:

Not too shabby.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Here you go.

David Spoon:

On your first trivia question.

David Spoon:

Who was moved and wept over the death of his rebellious son?

David Spoon:

Was it Abishur David, Jodah or Rufus?

David Spoon:

Who was moved and wept over the death of his son, his rebellious son, Abisher, David, Yoda or Rufus?

David Spoon:

2 Samuel.

David Spoon:

Let's see if that's the right reference.

David Spoon:

I think that's the right reference point.

David Spoon:

2nd Samuel.

David Spoon:

1832, 33.

David Spoon:

2 Samuel 8.

David Spoon:

Let me make sure it's:

David Spoon:

Who was moved and wept over the death of his rebellious son, Abisher, David, Yoda or Rufus?

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

Oh, I promise.

David Spoon:

It gets up a little upbeat from here.

David Spoon:

If you think you know the answer.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

It's a phone, but it won't hurt you.

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

-:

David Spoon:

Or you can send an email.

David Spoon:

Davidemustincrease.org Pretty straightforward question.

David Spoon:

Who was moved and wept over the death of his rebellious son Abisher David, Yoda or Rufus?

David Spoon:

There you go.

David Spoon:

Second Samuel 18, 32 and 33.

David Spoon:

In the meantime.

David Spoon:

Oh my.

David Spoon:

I get to send people to the website like twice in a show.

David Spoon:

That's pretty good.

David Spoon:

In the meantime, I'm going to send you up to the website.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because we need money, that's why.

David Spoon:

But really, because there is a lot of cool stuff on the website.

David Spoon:

Don't forget.

David Spoon:

There's something there that we consider.

David Spoon:

couragement from the Lord for:

David Spoon:

I would encourage you to listen to it.

David Spoon:

It's not very long.

David Spoon:

I would also encourage you to read or to hear the little audio that says no compromise.

David Spoon:

Additionally, while you're doing it all, if there's a place in your heart where the Lord says yes, because the Lord has to be the one and you're able to give, please consider that.

David Spoon:

If not, please consider praying for us.

David Spoon:

Cause that we need.

David Spoon:

Check it all out.

David Spoon:

By the way, on hemustincrease.org prayer request.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org praise report.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org looking to give to this ministry.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org confused by what's happening right now.

David Spoon:

He must increase.org he must increase.org it's so cheery.

David Spoon:

I don't care what anybody says, it's just happy, happy.

David Spoon:

Yay.

David Spoon:

Okay.

Jim:

I just think of like happily walking down the street in like a neighborhood.

David Spoon:

Yeah.

David Spoon:

It's just like everything's great.

David Spoon:

The sun is out, it's not cold.

David Spoon:

Everybody's doing great.

David Spoon:

You don't even have to wear a coat.

David Spoon:

Everything's wonderful.

David Spoon:

Or it's like I was just telling our very own jam and Jacob, last night was a phenomenal night.

David Spoon:

Why?

David Spoon:

Because it's the first night in three nights I didn't have a team that lost.

David Spoon:

You know, that's the same kind of thing.

David Spoon:

Okay.

David Spoon:

That's all I'm saying.

Jim:

When we pick the games for this week and eventually the Jake's take will, there'll be a chance for you to get more wrong.

David Spoon:

David.

David Spoon:

Thank you, brother.

Jim:

You're welcome.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

I would say turn the lights out when you leave, but you did that.

David Spoon:

All right, here we go.

David Spoon:

Your trivia question.

David Spoon:

People are going, what is wrong with you people?

David Spoon:

Everything.

David Spoon:

What's wrong with you?

David Spoon:

You're listening.

David Spoon:

Who was moved and wept over the death of his rebellious son, Abisher David Yoda or Rufus, your opportunity to answer that will come 2 Samuel 18, 32, 33.

David Spoon:

If you think you know.

David Spoon:

Let me go back to this text.

David Spoon:

Listen to what he says on this other part, though.

David Spoon:

He says this.

David Spoon:

He says, you have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth that your beloved may be delivered.

David Spoon:

Save with your right hand and hear me.

David Spoon:

Oh, this is so good.

David Spoon:

So David's acknowledging it, going, oopsie, like that didn't work out.

David Spoon:

So in verse four, he says, give us a banner to those who fear you.

David Spoon:

For those who need to understand, a banner is a rallying point.

David Spoon:

So when it says, the Lord is my banner, it's like a rallying point.

David Spoon:

So in a sense, the banner is where the people regroup, reposition, repent, restructure, and resume with resilience.

David Spoon:

I wrote that.

David Spoon:

That's a lot of Rs.

David Spoon:

Listen, the banner is the point where we regroup, reposition, repent, restructure, and resume with resilience.

David Spoon:

That's what it does.

David Spoon:

And in verse five, David says that your beloved may be delivered.

David Spoon:

Let's not make incorrect assumptions or mistake God regarding his feelings with us, how God feels with us.

David Spoon:

We are his beloved.

David Spoon:

If you have a beloved in your life, you know how you feel.

David Spoon:

Well, we're God's beloved.

David Spoon:

And what David is asking for is for God to look upon his beloved and bring deliverance, because that is the only solution to the situation.

David Spoon:

Oh, my.

David Spoon:

I mean, he closes this verse by saying, save with your right hand.

David Spoon:

The right hand represents the close connection between God and his people.

David Spoon:

It's a plea for God to hear him.

David Spoon:

So he comes out and he starts off in the first half of this psalm.

David Spoon:

I probably should have ran this all the way through, but that's okay.

David Spoon:

And he's like, all right, you cast us off.

David Spoon:

We're not doing great.

David Spoon:

We've done stupid things.

David Spoon:

You're showing us hard stuff.

David Spoon:

We need to do better.

David Spoon:

And then he talks about, you've given us a banner for those that fear you.

David Spoon:

We're rallying before you.

David Spoon:

We're yielding before you.

David Spoon:

We.

David Spoon:

We're coming back.

David Spoon:

We're doing it right.

David Spoon:

We're regrouping, repositioning, repenting, restructuring, resuming with resilience.

David Spoon:

And then now that your beloved may be delivered, saved with your right hand, Lord, you love us so much, you care about us so much.

David Spoon:

We're your beloved.

David Spoon:

We need you to save us.

David Spoon:

The bottom line is we need you to help us.

David Spoon:

That's it.

David Spoon:

We could have just said that in the beginning.

David Spoon:

No, you need to understand why David's writing it all down.

David Spoon:

He's writing it all down so we can see the same sequence he goes through.

David Spoon:

That's the sequence we go through.

David Spoon:

Oh, man, I did that wrong.

David Spoon:

Oh, Lord.

David Spoon:

Lord, forgive me.

David Spoon:

You know what?

David Spoon:

I'm gonna rally around you.

David Spoon:

I fear you.

David Spoon:

I recognize you.

David Spoon:

That banner's the rallying point.

David Spoon:

And I'm asking you, God, with your right hand, which is that close connection between us all, that you would save your beloved.

David Spoon:

Please, Lord, save us.

David Spoon:

Us?

David Spoon:

We're your beloved and you love us and you have feelings for us and you care about us.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Thank you.

David Spoon:

Save us.

David Spoon:

Save us with your right hand.

David Spoon:

Isn't that beautiful?

David Spoon:

That's the first four verses.

David Spoon:

All right.

David Spoon:

Who was much moved and wept over the death of his rebellious son?

David Spoon:

Was it Abishur, David, Yoda, or Rufus?

David Spoon:

Samuel,:

David Spoon:

David weeping over a son he probably should not have been weeping over and had to be rebuked by his very own soldier.

David Spoon:

Wow.

David Spoon:

That's not good.

David Spoon:

All right, folks, we'll take our break, and then we'll come back.

David Spoon:

You're listening to the David Spoon Experience right here on Kaam 770, the truth station here in Texas.

David Spoon:

Short break, we'll be back.

David Spoon:

Don't go anywhere.

Unknown Speaker:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Unknown Speaker:

lf on a rocket ship racing at:

Unknown Speaker:

Once there, you can sense the power and the presence of the majestic and the divine.

Unknown Speaker:

You forget about your troubles and your fears, and you just float in peace without a worry.

Unknown Speaker:

In the world, there are no struggles, no pain, no.

Unknown Speaker:

No discomfort.

Unknown Speaker:

It's soothing, calm, comfortable.

Unknown Speaker:

But then the show starts, and you realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with the show.

Unknown Speaker:

What were you thinking?

Unknown Speaker:

The David Spoon Experience?

Unknown Speaker:

Only for the brave of heart and the bored.

David Spoon:

What is the David Spoon Experience?

Jacob:

Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around.

Jacob:

Even under his wings.

Jacob:

Day and night, they never stop saying, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come.

Jacob:

And you're thinking, that's a great verse, Dave.

Jacob:

What does that got to do with Thanksgiving?

Jacob:

Right?

Jacob:

Because that doesn't have any application except for God is pictured here, is always was, always is and always will be.

Jacob:

And a person who is walking in the dynamic of continually giving thanks is looking at their past with Thanksgiving, is looking at their present with Thanksgiving, and is looking at their future with thanksgiving, because God has operated in the past, the present and the future.

Jacob:

And you have a past, a present and a future.

Jacob:

And when you look at your past and you operate with thank thanksgiving and you look at your present and you operate with thanksgiving.

Jacob:

And you look at your future and you operate with thanksgiving, you're operating in those principles with God.

Jacob:

And if you look at your past with thanksgiving, guess what you won't have.

Jacob:

You won't have bitterness.

Jacob:

And if you look at your present with thanksgiving, guess what you're going to have a trusting and a confidence.

Jacob:

And if you look to your future with thanksgiving, guess what you're going to have A hope for a better tomorrow.

Jacob:

All these principles operate.

Jacob:

If you will continually walk in thanksgiving on every aspect and element of your life, you won't be bitter.

Jacob:

You'll be trusting God and walking in confidence.

Jacob:

You'll be looking for a better tomorrow.

Jacob:

You'll be operating in the principle of faith.

Jacob:

You'll be honoring God, and you'll be setting yourself free in your partnership with God.

Jacob:

How can that be bad?

David Spoon:

How can that be bad?

Jacob:

It blows my mind.

Jacob:

Crying out loud.

Jacob:

We should be thanking God for Oh, but this terrible thing happened.

Jacob:

But look how God brought you through it.

Jacob:

This terrible thing is happening.

Jacob:

But look how God is bringing you through it.

Jacob:

Hey, when they start shooting Christians, look how God took you out and brought you to him.

Jacob:

How many think it's all.

David Spoon:

You can't escape this.

Jacob:

If you look at your life with the continual feast of thanksgiving, you'll have a continual feast.

David Spoon:

The David Spoon experience.
