[00:00:33] For those of you who don't know me, I am an accountability coach here at the fit father project. So I get to walk the journeys with the members. And today we have Jeff, who's going to introduce you
[:[00:00:52] And I started. I'd say probably May or June of this year in the Fit Father program, the FF30X program. [00:01:00] Oh, a little bit more. Okay. So I have two, two amazing kids, 10 and 11 year old that I, um, that I love. They're little mini me's and, um, they'll be probably, probably part of the story and what I talk about a little bit today as far as motivation and why doing the, you know, this program and the retreat.
[:[00:01:19] Jason: Jason. Yeah, my name is Jason Z. Gadlow. I live a little bit south of Cleveland, Ohio, in a town called Brunswick, um, 45 years old. I have a daughter named Kaylee, who's 13, and a wife named Chelsea. And, uh, yeah, just excited to be a part of this, this conversation. It's good to see you guys.
[:[00:01:44] And then what happens after that? What goes through your mind and what gave you the confidence to sign up? We'll start with Jeff. Cause he said he was ready to jump in. Oh
[:[00:02:05] You know, I, I, I like scrutinize this program so much. I like, I'm so OCD. I went and downloaded all the pictures to see if they were like modified in any way. Cause I was like, there is no way these cyber genetics. people that you see in these Delta ads. There's no way this is real. This guy's like 50 or 60 and like stacked.
[:[00:02:38] And I'm like, Sedona. Yes. Yes. I, I could do Sedona, but then I was thinking, okay, if I go to this, this means I'm going to actually do everything, which I struggled with. I, I could, you know, do exercise maybe two weeks at a time. And then I, I'd see a squirrel and forget about it. And there, there goes a year's resolution or whatever.[00:03:00]
[:[00:03:16] So it worked
[:[00:03:38] That's fantastic. All right. Jason, what was your experience with signing up?
[:[00:04:00] Uh, didn't, uh, didn't, uh, dig into it as much as, as Jeff
[:[00:04:09] Jason: I'm kind of a more just like jump in and then figure out. So I was a little different in that sense. But, uh, I joined, I think like it was August, September ish. And so it was a lot of ads coming out about Sedona.
[:[00:04:46] And I thought, you know, the way that I'm going to challenge myself. Is, is just jump in with a whole bunch of like minded dudes that I already know are, are proven just from what I've seen, and I thought the ad campaigns were done very [00:05:00] well and thought, you know what, I'm, I'm just going to go knock this retreat out and, and use it as like a, a stepping stone or a starting point, uh, to be around a whole bunch of like minded bought in dudes and learn from them.
[:[00:05:13] Jeff: That video. Okay. So that video, that is what did it. I forgot about that. I, I told, you know, on the retreat, I was trying to describe the person I saw, but the video said everything. I saw one guy like the before and after, and you know, like I remember Jason and I were around the same age. And I'm like, this dude is probably 15 years older than us.
[:[00:05:40] Kat: Yeah. Absolutely. Okay. You guys jump in. You don't know anyone, and one of the things that happens is once you sign up for the retreat, we put you in a special group so that you can meet some people coming, and you're meeting them online.
[:[00:06:06] Jeff: mean, like, that was so, oh my gosh, that was so embarrassing. So we have our first meet, we have our first meeting right before that Facebook group and I'm all gung ho and yeah, I get to see these people live on the, you know, on Zoom.
[:[00:06:35] I'm looking forward to it. I'm like. This is really odd. We had such a good meeting and hit it off. I wonder why there's, you know, there's no more buzz. I thought we were going to get to know each other better. And, and Kat's like so funny. She's just saying, Oh, do your bio. And I'm like, Oh, the bio. Oh, okay.
[:[00:07:13] And so I just. A mad rush to go in there and it's something I wanted so badly because I'm a Facebook like I'm a social media like I just I love all that stuff. I love meeting everybody. You're like, how's your mom and grandma? What size shoe do you wear? Whatever. And so, so I hopped in there and had to catch up on two months of like awesome conversation where people are like, yeah, I'm so excited about all the things that were missing.
[:[00:07:56] And that's kind of my style, but you know, like that's [00:08:00] kind of what I was doing. It's like, I was studying for like sales, like a prospecting people. And so it's like, okay, what does this person do? And like, Jason, I didn't know anybody, but I guess. In hindsight, Jason, didn't you, you weren't you the ones that saying like, Hey, I thought you knew everybody beforehand.
[:[00:08:43] I mean, I thought they, they were just nicely done and they actually helped us all get a better understanding of who would we be spending the next, you know. Oh yeah, and
[:[00:09:19] Yeah, yeah. He has a goat farm, and he's also an ER nurse, and he's also like, you know, running for office. I'm just kidding. He's not running for office. But like, there's all these random facts in the bios. I was quizzing everybody, and I'm like, You know, either get this right or you don't get lunch. So we were, we took it pretty seriously because I was like, it was almost like we were playing like some Monopoly or some board game on, on the way to, on the way to camp, summer camp.
[:[00:09:44] Kat: I mean, there isn't very many times I feel like in life as an adult where you are going to show up to a place where you don't know anyone. Right? You're just walking in and you're going to trust these people. So like when you sign up for the retreat, yes, we make sure there's [00:10:00] zoom calls so that you can meet people.
[:[00:10:18] We're all ready to go in. You're about to meet new friends and new family who have the same goals and vision that you do. And you guys jumped in and you did it. So you show up in Arizona. You get in a van where Dr. Anthony is there ready to meet you right away. You get this one on one time and then you show up at the retreat center.
[:[00:10:44] Jason: Yeah. So, I mean, just, uh, inquisitive. Um, you know, happy to, to make some connections just even in the, in the van. I mean, you know, Jeff and I, we connected in the airport, um, you know, [00:11:00] had an interesting experience. We're on the same flight. Uh, I connected in Chicago and then, you know, flew to Arizona.
[:[00:11:19] Jeff: was it was just kind of funny because then we start a real moment like I walked down the aisle And you know, like i'm from the south So we're used to making like these like hey I know you but not really cut type faces and you just assume the person's from the south even though you've never seen them before but so I like I hadn't communicated with Jason or anyone yet.
[:[00:11:58] I'm like, gosh, I wonder if that was someone [00:12:00] from the trip. Maybe it was just. Or maybe I know them from Chicago. Anyways, so I'm sitting down and getting ready, you know, we're getting ready to close the door and I pull up Facebook messenger and I saw Jason's message that said, Hey, I think I'm on the same flight as you.
[:[00:12:30] I'm just kidding. I didn't say that. He actually is in sales, but you look like this type of person. And it was just, it was, it was fun. And so we were able to, we literally made a mad dash. We probably got in like 12 text messages in the next five minutes before the doors closed. It was fun.
[:[00:12:45] Yeah, it was cool. But yeah, you arrived at, to the compound and it's just, you know, everyone's full of excitement. It's cool to actually observe so many brothers who know each other like [00:13:00] on Facebook only, but then like get to enjoy each other's company in person. And I, just as an observer, because I really was relatively newer to the group, uh, just watching, uh, some of the interactions from afar, it was, was just neat to see knowing that.
[:[00:13:23] Jeff: to be a part of it. Absolutely. And being able to, the people that, um, where we stayed there on the, on the, the, what would you call it? It's like a retreat center, not a ranch or resort. What would
[:[00:13:37] The retreat
[:[00:14:07] And, um, it, it, I, I love the whole experience because I'd never been to Sedona and to the Red Rocks and just everything. I, I've never even, I've never really seen cactus in person. So I was like a kid in a candy store getting there to get on this reservation with someone who's actually part of the tribe in that local area that runs this.
[:[00:14:34] Kat: charge enough for the retreat to hire actors. So I promise that everyone was real and stories are true, but I think that's so important.
[:[00:15:06] Everyone does. That's there. So you captured that person perfectly in explaining that feeling. I love it.
[:[00:15:32] When I saw the amenities and where we were going to stay, I'm like, Oh gosh, this is really nice. I mean, like you, uh, sink in my room, you know, this, just the way things were set, um, situated to where we were so close to each other, yet we had our own spaces. And then the quality of the place, like, I was pleasantly surprised because, you know, I think, like, some of my fears go back to, you know, church camp when I was seven or even Boy Scout camp where you have an outhouse and there's, like, a tarantula that's going to bite your butt in the toilet or whatever.
[:[00:16:05] Kat: ten years ago. Yeah. Well, however many. You're not very old. Right? So, like, just a short amount of time ago.
[:[00:16:14] Yeah. Exactly. It, I was so pleasantly surprised with all the amenities that we were there. We weren't babied, but we also weren't like, okay, I'm out in the middle of nowhere. I'm going to have to start a fire with the flint that you just gave me that I had to go on a treasure hunt to find. I mean, it wasn't crazy like that.
[:[00:16:36] Kat: Yeah, absolutely. And so as far as events go, we don't want to really spill the beans of like all of the different activities that someone will experience. Oh man. What? Yeah. Do you kind of want to like talk about, you show up, you don't know what's going to happen, right?
[:[00:16:58] Jeff: Well, I'd say for, I'd say for me, [00:17:00] like, um, I'm a, I'm, um, I'm a little bit, you know, have issues with anxiety, um, just candidly speaking. So I was like, I was kind of freaked out a little bit, but it almost became a novelty.
[:[00:17:32] And, you know, I'll just kind of, we'll see how it goes. And at each point when we got to the airport and everybody was together and, you know, you came up, you and Ben came up immediately to say hi to Jason and me, it was like, okay, it doesn't matter that things aren't planned. Everything is going just how I would love for it to happen.
[:[00:18:23] And now that I know that things can be a certain way and I can, um, cool. You know, give up control or, you know, in certain areas. And, um, it's just like, it was, there were a lot of new discoveries for me. So, uh, you know, without spilling the beans of specific events, it was, it was awesome. It was a great experience from that standpoint.
[:[00:18:50] Jeff: to us about the food? I'm sorry I outed it. No. Out
[:[00:18:54] Jeff: it.
[:[00:19:02] Time and in detail into, into every dish. They do a wonderful job, a thorough job of explaining how the dish was prepared and how certain, you know, uh, flavor profiles pair with others. And I mean, every day was. Was just a, you know, you're kind of like scratching your head or what's, what's, what's on the menu today, you know, just curious, but never disappointed.
[:[00:19:29] Jeff: Jason, had you ever heard the word to ancient grains before then?
[:[00:19:56] That's the food
[:[00:20:18] I'm like thinking does dr A know about this because i'm pretty sure this is gonna blow Away the past 30 60 90 days of all this hard work. I've been doing to lose all this weight And so I think I was a little paranoid about You know, like losing some of the gains that wait, that sounds weird. Losing some gains, gaining some of the loss.
[:[00:20:59] He has an [00:21:00] appetite. So i'm like, okay if ben can do it, what would ben eat? What what could ben do? And so I went in there and honestly cat Jason's jason knows because he's like dude save some for the rest of us, but like I filled up I mean and i'm not a big vegetable guy But the way they cooked it and what they put in it and all these like they had all these like ninja level tricks with combining things I'd never even heard of didn't know what the names were, but the taste and the flavoring of that made it so that I wanted to eat more.
[:[00:21:46] And they had a lot of those there. And, you know, I got to talking to the chefs about them and they explain. You know, I told them, you know, my concerns with dietary issues. Oh my God, Cat, that reminds me too. So I, yes, I was the one that when we get to, you get [00:22:00] to the first meal and they're like, normally we would have cooked this.
[:[00:22:29] Right? And so I was like, paranoid when they came out with that. But everybody was fun. They, they, they teased me about it. Heck, I teased me about it, but it ended up being working out really well because that led into conversation with them that got me trying things that I normally wouldn't be able to do at home.
[:[00:23:12] So what I would have eaten and done at home would have been an absolute freaking train wreck. But because of, you know, their knowledge of how, you know, How to combine things and how I could kind of hack my way and even I was able to eat a lot more and it made me a lot healthier. I gained like minimal weight when I was sad and dead at the end of the week.
[:[00:23:43] Kat: was like so excited about the food. Because, like, I think a lot of people that have allergies or food sensitivities, like, they're very nervous to go to something like this.
[:[00:23:53] Jeff: my god. Decades of anxiety, knowing where all the bathrooms are. Like I was, yeah, it was, that was crazy. [00:24:00]
[:[00:24:03] Kat: right? We ask. They just did a great job. We ask ahead of time, like, please tell us what your food sensitivities are. And we want to make sure everyone is taken care of.
[:[00:24:16] Jeff: grow. It was so good. Yeah, it was. Yes. I really appreciate that. Hey, it's Dr. Ray. I want to quickly pause this episode to thank you for listening to this Fit Father podcast. I am just blown away at how amazing this podcast has become.
[:[00:24:47] That's what I want to share. Just some gratitude from my heart to yours. Let's get back to today's episode.
[:[00:25:07] Jason: Wow. Um, yeah. There, there were so many great ones, things that I typically would not have done on my own. So like the exposure, first of all, like in that, and I think that not to go off on a tangent, but if there's one thing that I want to highlight about this call and just the entire trip itself was like the holistic approach, um, you know, in my mind and without having that itinerary, I thought we were going and doing all these workouts and, you know, and, and it was like.
[:[00:26:19] In fact, I, I still do that, but there was something different about being in the water. Um, at that temperature and at, for that time, and I'll tell you, you know, I'm a coffee guy in the morning, but that was like, that was the coffee, um, to, to, to be in the water and to just learn a little bit more about what that's doing to your body and why it, it, it's so, you know, captivating and, and just, uh, the science behind it.
[:[00:27:08] Jeff: it was really like, it was really bonding almost like a brat party experience doing the cold plunge for me because it was like, if you think about instead of going drink, drink, drink, we were like, you got this, stay in the water, you got this, talk about me, talk about whatever you know, what do you know, Jim, tell me about, tell me, okay, Dr.
[:[00:27:45] But then Jim, like, and Jason, like you all talk nonstop to me and literally, well, you all can probably tell from the podcast. Um, I like talking and talking, you know, it makes me less nervous. And so I like that three, I stayed in there like three and a half minutes or [00:28:00] so, or more and didn't even, you know.
[:[00:28:22] So that was like
[:[00:28:43] Like not everyone there was, you know, of the utmost fitness and, you know, everyone's at different stages and everyone was there to support and someone's strength with someone's weakness and, you know, vice versa. And, and so I just think that again, to [00:29:00] speak to the larger group, you know, if you're considering this, you know, don't let any of those things deter you because.
[:[00:29:21] Jeff: That's a, that's a great point. Yeah. Yeah. Being there for each other. You know, we kind of came from different countries, different backgrounds, different races, different, different, everything.
[:[00:29:55] And, um, when one of the other people that were with us went down there to meditate, you know. [00:30:00] The person's a little bit more of an introvert. I came down there and it's almost like the difference between having a cat and a dog. This person would have appreciated having a cat, like kind of sneak up and not bother you.
[:[00:30:31] They needed, they, they knew they need, I needed a dog, you know, like, like to kind of, um, make sure I wasn't, you know, I didn't want to be by myself. Like I got, I get my energy from other people. That everyone was so aware of that and and conscious of that. It was just that that was to not know anybody And maybe it was the bio game I'm gonna attribute it to me making everybody like wreck, you know Memorize everybody's bios and their personalities like I'm gonna just gonna take partial credit for that.[00:31:00]
[:[00:31:10] Jason: there were blue collar guys, there were white collar guys, there were professionals. There were
[:[00:31:14] I mean, I'm just kidding. Laborers. There were laborers. We had the whole caste system there. I'm
[:[00:31:39] And, and willing to be vulnerable enough to like share their experiences with the other guys to pull from them. I mean, Kat and Ben and Craig and Dr. A like, Oh, great. All the speakers. Great. But like you, you learn so much from your peers. Right. And so it was like. All the little [00:32:00] sessions, um, outside of whatever, like lots of great conversations and bonding going on, um, in those
[:[00:32:08] Yeah. That familiarity you get with people just, you know, the, the trust you put in them. So, I mean, when several people told me that they were part of the original Jim Jones and, um, Hillbop Comet team, I didn't even flinch, you know, it was great. Okay. You all did. I just dated myself. So Jim Jones was cyanide.
[:[00:32:38] Jason: Jason, that might be on a different podcast. Cat. I'm not familiar with
[:[00:32:46] No, there's no cults. Totally see if y'all were paying attention
[:[00:33:05] Yeah, true. Like you don't have the same interest outside of your health, you know, or you're just. Um, actually physically live far apart from each other in different countries. And then you're all put together, all of that set aside the entire time. There wasn't any political talk. You're not talking about really work as far.
[:[00:33:42] Jeff: were able to We got so close so quick.
[:[00:34:07] You know, via text message and the Facebook group kind of nonstop and, and like, I think what's big about that is I've been trying to, like, I, I have like apex struggle issues. Like I've got, like, it's just, that's one thing that I got out of the trip was being able to get that encouragement from Dr. A and Ben, like, you know, it's so weird seeing Dr.
[:[00:34:45] And so, what I got out of it was that encouragement, that supervision, saying, hey, you are doing it right, just hop in there, do it, you're doing it. Going, you know, going for it. And so, you know, Apex, I'm, I'm, I've got a lot more [00:35:00] confidence, you know, kind of going into that. It's like, I nailed the FF30X, the eating part of it.
[:[00:35:22] Kat: And you're able to create that accountability group of people who care about you and want you to have success.
[:[00:35:35] Jeff: I get, I get those reminders from the text message. It's like, Jeff, did you do your apex or how's that going? Or Jason, how, Hey, did you make the, did you prepare that chicken?
[:[00:35:51] Kat: Yeah. How, let's go Jason. How do you feel like once you came home, you were able to implement all of these different things that you [00:36:00] had learned on the
[:[00:36:01] Yeah. So I got home and I mean, I was just on like this emotional high, you know, I needed like just a little time to really kind of decompress and take it all in. And, you know, I mean, there was a lot that happened in a short period of time, a lot of emotion, a lot of. You know, camaraderie, a lot of, lots of different things.
[:[00:36:51] And, um, you know, that was definitely one thing when I got home, but, uh, just a lot more self reflection and thinking [00:37:00] about that weekend. And, and still, I mean, you know, trying to be better with just communicating, uh, with some of the guys that, that I was. Blessed to meet and, um, just, just continue to try to be better every day.
[:[00:37:47] So. You know, maybe spent more time with so and so. And so like being extremely intentional, I think is, it is very, very important and critical to the overall experience and having that [00:38:00] open mind and being okay with being uncomfortable because, you know, everyone's, everyone's there just as vulnerable and, and, you know, nervous or whatever is, is you are.
[:[00:38:14] Jeff: I appreciate that. Speaking of kind of like things you didn't know you need, I didn't bring a book or anything to write with or whatever. So getting our little like, oh shoot, I can't. No, you can
[:[00:38:27] Jeff: Okay. So we got, we got it.
[:[00:38:49] You know, when I, when we had some required time alone, being able to have that with me, just take that with me in my bag. And then, um, I think that was [00:39:00] just things like it's, it's wild. All the reflection, all the breath work that we've been doing, um, like, like Jason said, the four, seven, eight, like I've been doing that.
[:[00:39:22] Kat: If someone's listening and they haven't done Ryan McBurney's breath work, that's in our program. Can you explain to them what the 478 is?
[:[00:39:39] Which, which, uh, was it the Navy SEALs? It was either Navy SEALs or some special forces. They had a, um, they were a lot more successful and had a lot less trauma, PTSD after the, you know, their stents, um, overseas. And so they were looking, okay, okay. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines across all these, what, what do they [00:40:00] do differently?
[:[00:40:24] Majorly calm down their nervous system more successfully than you know other types of breath work And I don't know that like I haven't read a book behind that like I could tell you about James Nestor's breathe all day, but this one I don't know the science behind it, but I know it does work. I Before that I tried, you know, different types of meditation or even, you know, like some people can run and, you know, running makes them not anxious or whatever afterwards.
[:[00:41:05] Kat: I love that. And it's so great because you get to meet these people, right? You got to do the breath work in person with Ryan McInerney and learn these techniques.
[:[00:41:33] And so like, like you're saying, getting to experience it and then take it back home. And say, okay, how do I go? Yeah,
[:[00:41:52] And like, You would never get to know these things about people, how much they've overcome, and how, like, they've been there, done [00:42:00] that, and came out, on the other side, successful, and, and, and made something out of, you know, cards that were handled, handed to them long, you know, a long time ago that they didn't get to pick, and making, making things out of that, like, um, Akshay and just some of the other people that spoke, and, All the speakers were, it was crazy.
[:[00:42:36] Kat: like, who are you talking about for people
[:[00:42:42] Like, I mean, like someone who's like. How do I even meet someone that's going to like, go do, you know, trap the North Pole, successfully break a Guinness Book of World's record. They've already lost fingers and toes prepping for it. I'm like, what in the world? Like, how do [00:43:00] you meet these people? But I'd say that the theme for me was birds of a feather with, with you and Dr.
[:[00:43:34] And he came and spoke to us like. Oh, hey, you know, Billy Joe Bob, I'm going to come to your cookout. Let's eat potato salad in the South type thing. He shows up and just, he's there and he tells a story. I'm thinking. It was so relatable. A lot of the stuff that he struggled with and the way he thinks about things and kind of, you know, moving forward instead of getting stuck in the [00:44:00] rearview mirror looking backwards.
[:[00:44:20] And then like Megan, Megan Rapinoe, you know, women's soccer, Olympic soccer, soccer team. I first heard that concept for her. I believe so strongly in that because if you don't, if you look backwards, you get trapped in thinking of who you were in the past. Yeah. Um, you know, kind of drag you backwards or keep you there just looking forward.
[:[00:44:46] Kat: It's great to say that you're learning right now, someone listening who's like, Oh, maybe I'm not at exactly where I want my health or wellness to be.
[:[00:45:07] Jason: Well, and I feel like you, you become a product of your environment, right?
[:[00:45:35] Jeff: iron birds of a feather and any of the cliches you on the podcast can think of,
[:[00:45:43] Keep them coming. Keep them going.
[:[00:46:02] I'll say that
[:[00:46:08] Jeff: The verb, it was just, it was pretty inspirational.
[:[00:46:14] Kat: right. That's right. It's such a good mix too, because you know, you have these opportunities like the cold plunge, you're going on hikes and you're pushing yourself, but then you also have the place to rest and recover.
[:[00:46:37] Jeff: so that I can come back. Absolutely. That's a really good point. The back and see, that's some of the ninja stuff you all did.
[:[00:47:05] of the agenda for the next day that's really clear, clean, like, I'm going to nerd out, but like white space, white space is great with these timelines of things that are going to happen. And I didn't think about it till now, but you're right. The sequence of how you did them as opposed to just, okay, this morning, we're just going to.
[:[00:47:39] Jason: But a lot of good thought and psychology put into just how it was all laid out. And like, after you do it, and then reflect back on it, you're like, You all should have,
[:[00:47:55] Kat: We have a good team. We put our heart and soul into it. So it's nice to hear it right now. Say it again. [00:48:00] Tell us again. It was, it was so great, right?
[:[00:48:13] Jason: Something like that. And I do, I do have to say, and I don't think this is like a spoil, but I, I was like, and I'm just a sucker for personalized stuff. That water bottle with my name on it is like
[:[00:48:28] Kat: actually awesome. We tell people you can order our water bottles on the website, which is great. And they're black and they're beautiful. And the woman who makes them for us, it's a small business. So please purchase them. It's a wonderful support.
[:[00:48:45] Kat: ceiling.
[:[00:48:54] Jason: With your name on it. Hold on. Keep
[:[00:49:06] Yeah.
[:[00:49:15] Jeff: absolutely right. Oh my God. It's in the, it's in the dishwasher. Are you kidding me? What kind of timing is that? That's Great. Imaginary. Awesome.
[:[00:49:32] Jeff: Just great.
[:[00:49:45] And I will start with Jason. I know I put you on the
[:[00:50:22] And so if you don't know someone, not a big deal, I knew literally no one. And left with 11, 12, like really, really good friends, brothers that I could call. And I know that at any given time and get advice, get help, get support, um, you know, challenge yourself, push yourself, you know, I just think there's so much more.
[:[00:51:08] Like I want to work out. And, you know, we, we did a little of that and that was awesome, but like, there's just so much more to overall wellness that you may not be in touch with. And this is just something, the experience alone, uh, opened my mind and spirit and, um, in ways that I, I just didn't think, you know, we're going to happen on the trip.
[:[00:52:05] Feel uncomfortable or not do them and because you'll,
[:[00:52:23] Go for it. I did that work for you. So I'll just cut to the chase. FF 30 X. Everything's research based. I can give you the pub med article for all these things. Dr. A cat, Ben, everyone legit school background. I already did that work for you. Do it. Like Jason said, dive in head first. If you're, if you, if you're a toad dipper.
[:[00:52:56] Be okay with it being clunky. I focused on the diet piece first [00:53:00] up front. That's all I did before hopping into Apex. Thank goodness I did it that way because I nailed that diet and I hit my goal and then that gives me success to build on to hop into the apex piece. Um, as you did, like some people can do all these things at once.
