Fourteen-year-olds are working to understand what it means to act responsibly. They are:
● working to understand the rules and apply them in multiple settings.
● working to gain their independence.
● increasingly taking care of their bodies (exercising, eating right).
● learning about growing and maintaining relationships (managing their feelings and impulses, working through conflict and empathizing, being dependable, and keeping promises).
● meeting school obligations (managing homework and extracurricular activities), and
● contributing to their household (cooperating with rules and expectations, doing chores).
