Now back to the show.

36

:

Yes.

37

:

So I'm very excited and I would love

for you to just tell the listeners a

38

:

little bit more about yourself and what

your journey has been with astrology.

39

:

Yeah,

40

:

Sofia Adler: so I guess I should say

right off the bat, I never thought

41

:

I would be an astrologer ever.

42

:

There's that famous saying, when the

student is ready, the teacher appears.

43

:

And I really feel like the

teacher for me was astrology.

44

:

I have a master's in psychology

from Columbia University.

45

:

And before I went back to get my master's

degree, I worked in marketing and events.

46

:

at SoulCycle, which is a likely

well known by your listeners fitness

47

:

studio throughout the country.

48

:

And I went back to graduate school because

I wanted to learn how the mind worked.

49

:

I had recently had a big

shift in my family life.

50

:

My parents got divorced.

51

:

I'm an only child.

52

:

It was a definitely a

pivotal Moment for me.

53

:

And as a result, I got really

into the mind and how it works.

54

:

And it started with yoga

and then mindfulness.

55

:

Like I was just desperate to find

anything that would make me feel better.

56

:

I'm a born and bred New Yorker.

57

:

I played sports in college.

58

:

I really used to live and die by a

do more, be more, achieve more ethos.

59

:

And it wasn't until my life changed

that I started to slow down.

60

:

That I started to look for

practices that would help me

61

:

on an internal level and scale.

62

:

I thought graduate school

would be the answer.

63

:

I thought, you know, Ivy

League, master's degree.

64

:

In psychology, I'll be set.

65

:

This is how I'm going to help people.

66

:

This is how I'm going to help myself.

67

:

And I did start off with, you know,

Ended up being a really successful

68

:

kind of traditional corporate mindset

and leadership coaching business.

69

:

And I still had this nagging

thought of something's missing.

70

:

There's gotta be more out there.

71

:

Like, something is off.

72

:

That voice didn't stop

until I found astrology.

73

:

Until I have now come to realize I found

a tool that doesn't just give your mind

74

:

something to chew on, doesn't just allow

you to think about yourself in a new way

75

:

and provide a new language and framework,

but also addresses the parts of you that

76

:

cannot be contained by your human body

that aren't necessarily logical, right?

77

:

And, and kind of understood by the mind.

78

:

As I see it, astrology really addresses

the multitude of what makes us who we are.

79

:

It addresses and acknowledges

the multidimensional nature of

80

:

what it is to be a human being.

81

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Wow.

82

:

Yeah, I really resonate with that.

83

:

I totally agree.

84

:

Astrology does do a much better job

of encapsulating all the layers of

85

:

who you are in a way that I think

a lot of people don't experience

86

:

through a lot of other modalities.

87

:

It gives you an insight into

yourself, that person that

88

:

only you know inside your head.

89

:

And people are like, wow, I didn't

realize you can pick all of that up

90

:

and really give me a better insight

into who I am and how I think

91

:

and how I move about the world.

92

:

Like that's what's

really powerful about it.

93

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah.

94

:

You know what a lot of people,

astrology obviously is super popular,

95

:

which we love and it's, it's not only

popular, but it's cool and hip and

96

:

while that's great, I think that the

root, the core of astrology, why it

97

:

matters, what it does has really been

lost in translation due to the rise in

98

:

stardom, should we say, for the stars.

99

:

When we look at the What I'm looking at

is a picture of where all the planets were

100

:

in the sky the moment that you were born.

101

:

I'm getting a snapshot of what the

energetic imprint was the moment that

102

:

you came to life as a human, right?

103

:

You took your first breath.

104

:

But the reason that this matters

and is significant is because your

105

:

soul doesn't just choose this life.

106

:

It also chooses your moment of birth.

107

:

The moment that you were born, the

way in which you were born, the timing

108

:

of your birth, whether you were early

or late, or came by surprise, or came

109

:

in like this, or it took a while.

110

:

All of that is written in the chart.

111

:

So to your point, astrology reveals

what our soul chose for us in this life.

112

:

It goes beyond our

professional development.

113

:

You know, quiz or breakdown.

114

:

It really addresses who we, not only

who we are, but who we're meant to be.

115

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Absolutely.

116

:

Absolutely.

117

:

And I love hearing about your journey,

how you found your way through your

118

:

own business, and then you went to

graduate school, took psychology.

119

:

That was actually a field

that I was very interested in.

120

:

And I actually have a

marketing background as well.

121

:

And it's so crazy how psychology

and marketing are just.

122

:

really cousins or maybe

even sisters of each other.

123

:

But then like still feeling like

there's something else, there's

124

:

something more, there's something

that I feel like I want to get to.

125

:

And that's kind of what led you to

astrology as a profession for yourself.

126

:

I think that's really magnificent.

127

:

Sofia Adler: Thank you.

128

:

I really appreciate it.

129

:

And again, like for everyone listening,

you never know where life will take you.

130

:

It's one choice after the next.

131

:

When I became an

astrologer, I was terrified.

132

:

My friends are lawyers and

docents and, or not docents,

133

:

excuse me, curators of museums.

134

:

My friends are consultants and, and have

what I would call like these really like

135

:

high ticket, like really impressive.

136

:

Kind of traditional corporate careers.

137

:

And when I decided I was going to

really do this, I was like, Oh my God,

138

:

like, what are people going to say?

139

:

What are they going to think?

140

:

Like, God, what are my

parents going to think?

141

:

Like, Jesus.

142

:

And it was, in the end, the

joke was on me because it was

143

:

really beautiful to see how.

144

:

My family, my friends rallied around me

and were like, yeah, this is amazing.

145

:

Do it.

146

:

And it goes to show, like, I never would

have become an astrologer or leaned

147

:

into who I am fully and completely

without being buoyed by astrology.

148

:

Without that support from being

like, oh, yeah, like, I'm validated.

149

:

I'm affirmed.

150

:

Like, those two words I hear

from my clients all the time.

151

:

And it, you know, the stars

empowered me to friggin go for it.

152

:

And then I did.

153

:

And life has just unfolded in a way

that I never would have expected.

154

:

I always say, if you would ask 18 year

old me, like ahead, like just go a couple

155

:

of years, more than a couple, but you

know, whatever, you're going to be an

156

:

astrologer and have your own business.

157

:

I think I would have been like,

what are you talking about?

158

:

Like, no way.

159

:

So I'm lucky.

160

:

I'm grateful.

161

:

It's, again, it's wild

to see how life unfolds.

162

:

I think when we allow it to unfold, when

we don't control, when we don't feel like

163

:

we have to follow a certain path, because

The universe always knows better, has

164

:

bigger dreams, and, and more opportunities

than are available to us in our minds.

165

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Absolutely.

166

:

That the universe, I love

Oprah's quote, the universe will

167

:

dream a bigger dream for you.

168

:

I wrote this.

169

:

I mean.

170

:

But yeah.

171

:

She's perfect.

172

:

Of course she is.

173

:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

174

:

And speaking of perfect, like, I feel

like you and I are like a perfect

175

:

connection too because I was reading your.

176

:

Your website and you're an Aries

with Aquarius, rising Aquarius moon.

177

:

And I was like, Oh my God, I'm

probably going to really vibe out.

178

:

Cause I'm an Aquarius sun

and rising and a Pisces moon.

179

:

So I was like, we're going to vibe

180

:

Sofia Adler: out.

181

:

Oh yeah.

182

:

Oh yeah, for sure.

183

:

I mean.

184

:

Aquarians are a vibe.

185

:

They're just, they're just a vibe.

186

:

A whole vibe.

187

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Yeah, I was

really excited to, to talk with you.

188

:

And just like on the topic of women's

empowerment, we have so many amazing

189

:

things that have happened during Pisces

season already, but we're, what's really

190

:

going to be, I think, a really pivotal

time for everybody is Aries season and

191

:

coming up this, this, uh, This month,

and it's so pivotal that Pisces and Aries

192

:

take place during Women's History Month.

193

:

And I just think those things

are like not coincidental.

194

:

I think, especially during this

time, we have eclipse season coming

195

:

up, so many different things.

196

:

And I think it's just going to be a

really pivotal time and the topic of

197

:

women's empowerment, the topic of.

198

:

Women really having ownership of

themselves, I think, are really

199

:

what we're going to see during

the season, during this year.

200

:

Big shift in that.

201

:

And so I would love to get your take

on this women's empowerment and kind

202

:

of like what your views about how we as

women can really step into our own and

203

:

really own who we are and move forward.

204

:

Not this, not just this month,

but just in general using

205

:

astrology or whatever modalities?

206

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah, such a good

question and I'm honored to answer it.

207

:

At the most macro level, what astrology

is doing is it is affirming, confirming

208

:

that there's something going on here.

209

:

That we are all connected.

210

:

That you and me, we are One with

the earth and the trees and the

211

:

planets and the animals, the land.

212

:

We are brought up in a world that has

taught us to think that everything

213

:

is separate and equally that we

have to be like everybody else.

214

:

Whereas when you really lean in and you're

like, oh, damn, like, I I am connected

215

:

to the frickin planets, like, it's pretty

remarkable and crazy, like, I have done

216

:

hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of

readings and I have never met anybody that

217

:

doesn't resonate with their birth chart.

218

:

On a big picture, without even getting

into the nitty gritty of your sun sign

219

:

or the current season we're in and

things of that nature, you can just

220

:

take a step back and be like, wow,

like, I am connected to the planets.

221

:

I am magic.

222

:

Like, it's really wild.

223

:

And, and really remarkable and

astonishing and abundant to think

224

:

about ourselves from that perspective.

225

:

And equally, when you consider that you

are one with the universe and also a

226

:

unique expression of all that is, right?

227

:

You and I are one and the same, and we're

also incredibly different and unique.

228

:

We've each been assigned, or our

soul has chosen, if you will, our

229

:

own way to bring our magic to life.

230

:

And that's what astrology

helps you figure out.

231

:

It helps you see who you are meant to

be, your potential of who you can be.

232

:

What I often find with people

is that they're super heavy in

233

:

a specific part of their chart.

234

:

So for example, Someone might have a

Scorpio stellium and an Aquarius stellium,

235

:

but they're super in their Scorpio.

236

:

And I'm like, listen, we don't

want to get rid of your Scorpio.

237

:

I love this about you, but we

got to pull out the Aquarius.

238

:

We got to pull out these

other parts of you.

239

:

Not only do we compare ourselves to

others, but we also Especially as

240

:

women, it often feels unsafe or is

taught that it's wrong to embrace

241

:

the bigness of who we are, to

really allow all of us to be seen.

242

:

And you can make these

connections on so many levels.

243

:

What about all of the messaging around

the size body a woman's supposed to have?

244

:

It's just, it is endless, right?

245

:

And so using astrology, using, and by

the way, I really consider astrology

246

:

an energy practice, and I can share

more about that if that's okay.

247

:

of interest and exciting here, but I

think astrology really at its core, and

248

:

you spoke to this in our intro, astrology

helps you remember who the hell you are.

249

:

And it is as micro as your specific

quirks and talents and gifts and growth

250

:

edges, and it's as macro as, damn, like,

I'm alive, and I'm alive now, and me and

251

:

the trees are connected, and the animals

and the earth, and like, it is my duty,

252

:

my purpose to be and express who I am.

253

:

Me.

254

:

My vibe.

255

:

My energy.

256

:

My passions.

257

:

I actually wrote this in

an Instagram post today.

258

:

There's 8 billion people in the world.

259

:

And there's only one you.

260

:

And so, that famous saying,

Who am I to do this?

261

:

The question really

becomes, who are you not to?

262

:

Astrology provides that new language,

that new framework, that new toolkit

263

:

to help you kind of snap to it

and be like, so this is who I am.

264

:

So this is the power that I possess.

265

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Absolutely.

266

:

It really can.

267

:

I, I really resonate with that.

268

:

That was actually part of my experience

with feeling that affirmation

269

:

of who I am through astrology.

270

:

It was one in which I was questioning,

okay, should I do this with my?

271

:

Career paths, should I do that and

having that reading and kind of getting

272

:

that understanding of myself and really

saying, yeah, I do have these skills.

273

:

I do have these gifts.

274

:

I do have this way of seeing

the world that is uniquely mine.

275

:

And if I don't take the time

to express that, to live that,

276

:

to allow that to be present.

277

:

And how I exist.

278

:

I'm missing that part of myself and

I'm missing out on life in that way.

279

:

And who wants that?

280

:

Who wants to look back on life and

be like, man, I had it right there.

281

:

I knew it, but I didn't choose

to go with that and honor

282

:

that intuition about who I am.

283

:

So I totally resonate with that.

284

:

And I think that's one of the things

that we get reminded about with

285

:

women's history month, how much we

are, in a sense, through society.

286

:

Even throughout history, taught to

play small, taught to really not fully

287

:

express and accept who we are as whole

human beings, but instead a role or

288

:

a service that we provide through the

fact that we're feminine or we, we are

289

:

women or we have feminine qualities.

290

:

And that's the world's loss, but

that's why I was really excited

291

:

about this season and this year in

particular, because I feel like a lot

292

:

of that is going to shift quickly.

293

:

A lot of that is just going

to be something that's not

294

:

going to be holding us back.

295

:

I mean, when you think, when you look at

technology, I feel like a lot of the roles

296

:

that were traditionally done by women,

secretarial work, a lot of note taking, AI

297

:

is taking all those responsibilities away.

298

:

And I think it's freeing women

up to really say, I don't

299

:

have to be a clerical worker.

300

:

I don't have to be someone who is

waiting in the wings to do this, that,

301

:

and the third at someone else's service.

302

:

I can be.

303

:

In a leading role, I can really

have ownership of who I am.

304

:

And I would love to dive deeper into

that and kind of figure out from your

305

:

perspective as an astrologer, how can we

tap into more of that energy and saying,

306

:

this is a time for me, this is a way

that I can really let go of the barriers.

307

:

And the limitations that other

people have placed on me and

308

:

really take ownership of who I am.

When you do, the moment we publish a new

episode, it will come right to the top

314

:

of your feed so you don't miss a thing.

315

:

One last thing, listen

to the end of the show.

316

:

I have an amazing freebie for you.

317

:

Now, back to the show.

318

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah, I think what really

comes to mind as an exercise is Sit

319

:

down, maybe you meditate or just

close your eyes to get quiet, and then

320

:

write out a list of like, what are the

rules that I think I need to follow?

321

:

Right?

322

:

And these are sneaky, by the way.

323

:

Like, these are sneaky rules.

324

:

Like, this might be something that

you are doing for a long time.

325

:

The reason that I start with that, what

rules are you following, is because

326

:

then the question Who made this rule?

327

:

Did I?

328

:

Like, right?

329

:

Because it's like, oh

my god, we are adults.

330

:

Like, if we're gonna follow rules, I'm not

saying go out and break the law and all

331

:

these things, but like, if you're gonna

be following a list of these rules, you

332

:

damn well better be the one who made them.

333

:

Or, or at least know, know

who gave you those rules.

334

:

Know who you are following.

335

:

Know who you are choosing

to say yes to over yourself.

336

:

Because I think what is really coming

to mind for me, it's not gonna be.

337

:

It's not going to be kind of

permanent until the end of this

338

:

year, but Pluto moving into Aquarius.

339

:

Pluto is in Aquarius now, it's going

to dip back into Capricorn one last

340

:

time, and then it's going to move back

into Aquarius at the end of the year

341

:

and stay in Aquarius moving forward.

342

:

Pluto in Aquarius really speaks

to this energy of like, As I

343

:

see it, all bets are off, right?

344

:

Aquarius is the rebel.

345

:

Aquarius waves that freak flag high.

346

:

Aquarius, though, wants to fit in.

347

:

Wants to fit in, but doesn't want to

conform to be like everybody else, right?

348

:

I always say to my Aquarian clients,

community for you means that there

349

:

are people around, they're doing

their thing, but they're supporting

350

:

you and you doing your thing, right?

351

:

It's not that we're all meant to

be like each other, but Aquarius

352

:

is really This, this commitment,

this reverence for authenticity,

353

:

for being our own unique selves.

354

:

And so Pluto, uh, a generational

kind of societal influencing planet,

355

:

for those who aren't as familiar.

356

:

Pluto's M O.

357

:

Cos every planet has an agenda, is

transformation, is change, is looking

358

:

at what needs to be alchemized.

359

:

What needs, what is lead that

needs to be turned into gold?

360

:

And so, Pluto in Aquarius to me

really speaks to an encouragement

361

:

on a macro level of, Be you.

362

:

Drop the, drop the shoulds, drop the

rules, drop the things that you have

363

:

subconsciously or consciously, the masks

that you have put on to fit in, to belong.

364

:

Again, when I say Aquarius wants

their free flag to fly, it doesn't

365

:

mean they want to be solo out in

the desert somewhere by themselves.

366

:

It's more that they want to create a

new future that doesn't echo the past.

367

:

And so, in order to step out of these

clerical roles, or the boxes that women

368

:

have been put in over the years that are

being broken both by women and also, to

369

:

your point, by changes in society, um, I

think you first gotta know who you are.

370

:

And authentic expression changes.

371

:

What's authentic for me this month might

not be authentic for me next month,

372

:

might not be authentic for me next year.

373

:

And that's okay.

374

:

But the more you know yourself The more

you get clear on, I like this, I, I

375

:

don't actually think I like this, or I

thought I didn't like that, but damn,

376

:

like, I love it, it's super exciting.

377

:

The more that you can lean

into your unique, authentic

378

:

expression, the rest will follow.

379

:

Wow, yeah.

380

:

And it's crazy to think about, like,

what are the things, like, I remember,

381

:

I remember when I first was out of my

corporate job, and I was in grad school,

382

:

and I said something, Once of like,

well yeah, you work from nine to six.

383

:

And the person was like,

oh, I didn't know that.

384

:

And it was like this realization of

like, right, I'm following a rule about

385

:

when and how long I'm supposed to work.

386

:

But I didn't make this rule, right?

387

:

Corporate America made the rule.

388

:

Working at the time I

lived in New York City.

389

:

Working in New York City made the rule.

390

:

So it's sneaky, the influences.

391

:

That have hold

392

:

Dorrissa Griffin: over us.

393

:

Yeah, it really is.

394

:

And so pervasive and being able, as you

said, to really take stock of who you

395

:

are and then what rules or what things

you feel are requirements that you

396

:

have to adhere to, to be a certain way,

really taking ownership of what that is.

397

:

And parsing out, okay, this is the

expectation, but this is what I want.

398

:

This is how I feel that

fits or works better for me.

399

:

And not allowing yourself to always be

so, I guess, restricted by those things.

400

:

And I think that's.

401

:

Very much like you said, the Pluto

and Aquarius, that's very Aquarian,

402

:

like going deep subterranean

through the Pluto part of it.

403

:

But then also with the Aquarius,

Aquarius is going to know the rules.

404

:

They're going to learn the

rules, but that doesn't mean

405

:

they're going to stick to them.

406

:

Sofia Adler: Nope.

407

:

That is certainly right.

408

:

Aquarius likes to learn the rules so you

can decide which ones you want to bring.

409

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Exactly.

410

:

So I would encourage people to really tap

into that as we're getting and shifting

411

:

these energies and find that inside

of you to figure out what's working

412

:

for me, what isn't working for me.

413

:

How can I go about figuring out why that

isn't working for me and then changing

414

:

those things in incremental or radical

ways, however it fits, you know, for you.

415

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah, and something

else that comes to mind too is

416

:

we have to be open to change.

417

:

Like, I think that people talk

a lot about fear of change, but

418

:

in reality, what's scarier is

everything staying the same forever.

419

:

And the cosmos and astrology

really teach us that.

420

:

With Mercury retrogrades, with

eclipses, with the changing of

421

:

zodiac seasons, if you look at the

energies of the stars and the planets.

422

:

It's constantly in flux and inflow.

423

:

It's constantly moving.

424

:

So I think that that's something too

of like taking note of what limiting

425

:

stories are you telling yourself?

426

:

Like where are you keeping yourself

boxed in or telling yourself that

427

:

everything has to stay the same?

428

:

Part of this new version of self

that Women are being called to

429

:

step into, and by new I really

just mean like, unexpressed.

430

:

I don't mean that, oh, you

have to find a new s It's like,

431

:

it's always in you, right?

432

:

Like, women's empowerment.

433

:

It's like, be the woman you know you're

meant to be without society telling

434

:

you to be small, and all the things.

435

:

Um, But like, it's okay

for things to change.

436

:

It's okay for things to be in

flux and in flow, to go with it.

437

:

It doesn't need to be rigid.

438

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Absolutely.

439

:

It does not need to be rigid.

440

:

And I love how, when you talked about.

441

:

Your transition into astrology, you

kind of mentioned some of the stages

442

:

in your life and then some of the

fears that you personally had about

443

:

taking on this new role or taking on

this new way of of being you and using

444

:

astrology as a way to help other people.

445

:

I would love if you could like,

maybe give people some ideas about

446

:

really doing that for themselves.

447

:

I wanted to read a statistic

from the Pew Center.

448

:

About the gender pay gap, as you

know, that's like a huge, huge thing.

449

:

The difference between the many,

the median earnings of men and women

450

:

has remained flat in the United

States for over two decades now.

451

:

And in 20, 2022, the U S.

452

:

A woman typically earned 82 cents

for every dollar a man earned.

453

:

And that's on average, I think if you

break that down by demographics in

454

:

terms of race is even lower than that.

455

:

And that the main reason why women or

people in general in the study felt

456

:

that women were earning less is because

they were being treated differently

457

:

and they had a different, um, choice

or different circumstances about the

458

:

work and family balance dynamic, as

well as they were working in jobs that

459

:

typically just paid less in general.

460

:

And as an entrepreneur, the

both of us are entrepreneurs.

461

:

I really feel like that's something

that is also shifting in the world.

462

:

I'm not encouraging everybody to

necessarily go out and start a

463

:

job, start a new business tomorrow,

but you know, that is an option.

464

:

That is an opportunity.

465

:

And for people who are looking to maybe

shift into, let's just say a different

466

:

role in life, maybe not necessarily a

different business or whatever, but like

467

:

a different role in life, what might be

some suggestions that you would have for

468

:

them to be able to Assess that and make

that shift and to be fearless about it.

469

:

How to like, really

think about their fears.

470

:

Cause like you mentioned your

family, like, what would they say

471

:

or what would they think about me?

472

:

And then all of a sudden you announce

it and they're like, that's awesome.

473

:

You know, and it's like crazy.

474

:

How would you like.

475

:

Coach somebody into making those

types of changes in their lives.

476

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah.

477

:

And what you're asking is so much of

the work that I do with my clients.

478

:

And, and I would say this one, I won't

lie as a double Aquarius and an Aries,

479

:

I'm not only an Aries sun, but I'm

a Aries, Venus, and Mercury as well.

480

:

I'm kind of an energetically

wired to like, go for it, to

481

:

take the risk, to do the thing.

482

:

So.

483

:

I need to acknowledge that.

484

:

It wasn't easy for me, but it's

definitely, I think based on other

485

:

energetic profiles out there,

it was easier for me to be sure.

486

:

But you know, this is, I'm pretty sure

Martha Beck said this originally, but

487

:

one, go towards what feels warm, right?

488

:

What lights you up?

489

:

What makes you feel alive?

490

:

What ignites a fire in your belly?

491

:

Go towards those things.

492

:

Because I will also say, my

astrology business just took off.

493

:

Right?

494

:

Because it's what I'm meant to be doing.

495

:

And so, we've been taught that we

need to struggle, that we have to do,

496

:

like, it always has to be hard work.

497

:

And I'm certainly not implying that

we shouldn't work hard, even though

498

:

my astrology business took off.

499

:

Entrepreneurship is not

for the faint of heart.

500

:

But there's so much success to be found,

personal success, meaning, purpose,

501

:

in doing something that lights you up.

502

:

So that's kind of a first thing.

503

:

I would say that's kind of for the person

that's like, I want to do something

504

:

else, but I don't know what it is.

505

:

Start taking note.

506

:

What are the things that feel warm?

507

:

What lights you up?

508

:

What feels exhilarating and exciting?

509

:

The other thing to consider is,

Discernment around discomfort.

510

:

And what I mean by that is, we've been

taught that discomfort is a signal

511

:

of something being wrong or bad.

512

:

Instead of having the wherewithal

and the recognition that in order to

513

:

change, in order to carve out a new life

path, to pivot careers, to walk in a

514

:

different direction, you're going to be

uncomfortable because it's unfamiliar.

515

:

Even when it feels like the

110 percent right thing to do.

516

:

You likely won't feel super cozy

and at ease because the thing that

517

:

you were doing before, in some

sense, felt comfortable, right?

518

:

It felt familiar.

519

:

So a lot of times I get from people, oh,

you know, it's like the discomfort stops

520

:

them before they've even tried or started.

521

:

Or they think, well, because I'm

uncomfortable, because things feel

522

:

wrong, then that means it's not right.

523

:

And so having the wherewithal, talking

it out with someone, leaning on the

524

:

stars, right, what do the cosmos

have to say based on the timing of

525

:

your life, to really consider, Am

I uncomfortable because I'm doing

526

:

something I've never done before?

527

:

Or am I uncomfortable because

I'm really going down the wrong

528

:

Dorrissa Griffin: path here?

529

:

Yeah, I think those are great

suggestions and it's so powerful.

530

:

I was actually like joking with

myself today and I was thinking

531

:

about how can we help people.

532

:

make these shifts and take

advantage of these new energies

533

:

that are presenting themselves.

534

:

And the song from The Great Prince

came to mind, and it's gonna sound

535

:

kind of cheesy, but I loved it.

536

:

And there's a song he has

called The Beautiful Ones.

537

:

And at the climax of the song, he

says, I may not know where I'm going.

538

:

I may not know what I need,

but one thing's for certain.

539

:

I know what I want.

540

:

And I was like, that's it.

541

:

Sofia Adler: Yes, that's totally it.

542

:

And also normalizing that.

543

:

I always say to my clients,

clarity is based on action.

544

:

You have to do something to get clear.

545

:

Clarity doesn't just appear, right?

546

:

And of course, it's funny, I'm sitting

here smirking to myself, I'm like, this

547

:

is the reminder you needed today, kid.

548

:

But clarity comes from doing things, from

trying it out, from taking action, because

549

:

you don't know what you don't know.

550

:

You gotta put one foot

in front of the other.

551

:

So you have to start.

552

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Yeah, you gotta start.

553

:

Sofia Adler: You gotta start.

554

:

And also, the last thing I would say is,

You reserve the right to change your mind.

555

:

I think too, what can hold people

back from starting a new path or doing

556

:

something new or walking a new line,

if you will, is that they're like,

557

:

Oh my God, what's going to happen?

558

:

It's like, you're not

stuck in this forever.

559

:

You get to pivot.

560

:

You get to change.

561

:

It's your life.

562

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Right.

563

:

You have to take ownership and

really know that even if you take

564

:

ownership, a step and you think,

Oh man, this wasn't what I needed.

565

:

Make another one.

566

:

Take incremental change.

567

:

If you can start small and make little

shifts, those make all the difference.

568

:

And those things add up to really,

really big changes in your life.

569

:

But like Sofia said, you have to

start, you have to make those changes.

570

:

You have to make those shifts.

571

:

You have to take an assessment and

then wherever you think is going to be

572

:

the easiest for you to make progress.

573

:

Start making progress just

a little bit at a time.

574

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah, I was about

to say like, it doesn't, anything

575

:

is better than nothing, right?

576

:

Like it doesn't have to be.

577

:

Big or grandiose.

578

:

Mm hmm.

579

:

Absolutely.

580

:

To be, to be considered

something that counts.

581

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Yeah.

582

:

And I love you have a resource that,

that you are helping people with.

583

:

It's this free course that you have.

584

:

Would you love to tell

people more about that?

585

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah.

586

:

So, I have an astrology for self

care course, and it is free,

587

:

you can get it on my website.

588

:

Um, and it's really a tool for helping

people understand how to use astrology as

589

:

more than just like a pop culture thing

and a party trick, and really use it as a

590

:

tool that can allow you to get into better

relationship with yourself and to help

591

:

you figure out and understand and give you

permission as well around what you need.

592

:

around how you can support

yourself so that you can go

593

:

out and make these big changes.

594

:

Yes.

595

:

So, so that, because that's a thing.

596

:

If you don't feel supported, if

you don't have your own back, it's

597

:

a lot harder to make these shifts.

598

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Yeah, it really is.

599

:

And I think on the topic of like, just

putting what you need first, like that's

600

:

something that you also help people

with, like how to step from this kind

601

:

of mindset of like, I I'm here to help

other people and that's kind of like comes

602

:

before anything that has to do with me.

603

:

No, it's like, how do we get from

feeling like everybody else's

604

:

needs are more important than ours.

605

:

Like you have also another resource that

you use to help people with that as well.

606

:

Sofia Adler: Yeah.

607

:

And I think, I think too, we Especially

for my high achievers out there.

608

:

You can have big goals and big dreams

and big ideas, but they don't have

609

:

to come at the sacrifice of yourself.

610

:

You know, like you, I think people

are so quick to shove down their

611

:

needs, their desires, their feelings.

612

:

in order to get the thing, create

the thing, accomplish the thing.

613

:

And I'm really a big believer,

and use astrology with my clients

614

:

to help them with this, that you

are just important as your goals.

615

:

You get to exist alongside them.

616

:

You don't have to give up on your

goals to prioritize yourself.

617

:

And also, prioritizing yourself doesn't

mean that your goals are less important.

618

:

You get to be one of those goals.

619

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Absolutely.

620

:

That's a really powerful message.

621

:

I think a lot of people forget that in

the day to day churn of going from one

622

:

thing to the next and having me after

another and all these responsibilities

623

:

that you get to be your own goal.

624

:

Having that sense of prioritizing

you is just so powerful.

625

:

I see we have a new visitor.

626

:

Let's get this.

627

:

Um,

628

:

Sofia Adler: this is Penny.

629

:

Hi Penny.

630

:

Hi Penny.

631

:

Penny is a Sagittarius.

632

:

I guess.

633

:

Um, she also is an 11 pound

dog and hikes 10 plus miles, so

634

:

she's definitely a Sagittarius.

635

:

But since we started today, it has, the

reason I looked to the side earlier is

636

:

that we had a hailstorm and now it's

kind of snowing, but there's also thunder

637

:

and Penny's very afraid of thunder.

638

:

So that is why she ran over here.

639

:

And decided to join us.

640

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Penny's

like, I need mama now.

641

:

Yeah, exactly.

642

:

Exactly.

643

:

Wow.

644

:

That's a lot going on.

645

:

And you said you're in New Mexico.

646

:

Beautiful.

647

:

That is really beautiful.

648

:

I love that.

649

:

Well, yeah, I'm so, so glad for this

time that, that we've had together.

650

:

And I love to close and wrap up my podcast

with asking the "Three Wise" question.

651

:

And, um, just like the gifts of the

Magi, I would love to know three

652

:

sayings, sages, or sounds that have

helped you on your cosmic journey.

653

:

And that could be.

654

:

Books or people, those are the stages.

655

:

Sayings can be affirmations

or principles that you follow.

656

:

And then sounds can be music

or films that have helped you.

657

:

Just three, three of those.

658

:

Hmm.

659

:

Sofia Adler: Um, sayings.

660

:

I'm a cyclical being.

661

:

I'm not meant to be on all the time.

662

:

That is honestly my own,

learned from the planets.

663

:

Another is the more fun I

have, the more money I make.

664

:

That's a great affirmation, right?

665

:

And it kind of speaks to this, you know,

it, I can get serious and in my head too.

666

:

So that's a reminder of like,

it's valuable to have fun.

667

:

It's valuable to go do

things and enjoy yourself.

668

:

That also contributes to business.

669

:

Um, and just because it's top of

mind, a sound that I've really been

670

:

loving lately is birds chirping.

671

:

Spring is coming, birds are chirping,

and it just feels like everything's

672

:

coming back, coming back, coming back

to life, coming out of hibernation.

673

:

Dorrissa Griffin: Wow, that's beautiful.

674

:

I love that first message that you gave.

675

:

We're all cyclical beings and I

don't have to be on all the time.

676

:

Like, wow, I'm going

to steal that from you.

677

:

Please do.

678

:

Please, please do.

679

:

Yes.

680

:

Well, it's been so fun.

681

:

stay connected with you or where.

682

:
