If you are like me, now and then, you come to a fork in the road, and you know it's time to decide you are either going to settle and this is as good as it gets – OR you must decide that it's time to level up.
You know my perspective on things, and I know you feel it too: you are here for a reason, and to fully realize that purpose, you must DECIDE that you will live up to your full capability and realize the impact you were born to make.

If you are like me, every now and then you come to a fork in the road and you know, it’s time to decide you are going to settle and this is as good as it gets – OR it’s you have to decide that it’s time to level-up. You know my perspective on things, and I know you feel it too: you are here for a reason and in order to fully realize that purpose, you must DECIDE that you are going to live into your full capability and realize all that you are truly capable of.
Stepping into who you’re meant to be is not usually the easy path. Although now that I am where I am today, and now that I’m creating an even bigger dream with a massive goal to have a much bigger impact, I need to let you know a secret – it is not as hard as you think it is. It’s more about adjusting a few priorities. I still look at Facebook for about 30 minutes a day, I watch really good TV shows and movies after my work is done. There is plenty of time to create amazing things in the world and then to relax after the hard work is completed. For example, I wrote four podcast episodes today before I ever opened Facebook. So – you do not have to stop things you enjoy. But – you know what? I have a feeling that you will LOVE the way accomplishing your hard goals feels a lot more than you love FB!
What does it mean to “level-up”? What does that actually look like?
Following are 17 ways to level up your leadership, your career, and ultimately your entire life:
1. Take a strength finder test. I have all my clients take the Clifton Strength Finder’s test.
2. Make a clear plan (goals) for what you want and the next steps (tasks to support the goals) for how you will get there
3. Once and for all get task, calendar, and e-mail management under control. Decide you are a person you manages their time. You have all the time you need.
4. Decide you will never be late again
5. Execute with extreme professionalism
6. Follow up key collaborations with thank you notes and commitments to actions
7. Decide you will care for your health (doctor, exercise, eat less sugar and processed food, drink water)
ur clothes do matter, even in:
9. Stop gossiping and sharing negative thoughts about other people – you are better than that.
10. Read at least one non-fiction book per month. As you are reading, note at least three things from it, each week, that you could implement in your life
11. Increase your self-awareness and improve upon the attributes that you know are detracting from your leadership potential
12. Teleworking is an awesome opportunity – are you truly adding as much value as you are able during your working hours?
13. Organize your home, office and car. Purge things that you would not buy again.
14. Work to reduce drama and emotion from the workplace.
15. Go to bed in time to get 7+ hours of sleep
16. Wake up one hour earlier
17. Get a mentor and a coach
Don’t try to fix all 17 of these today – just start moving toward where you want to be. It gets easier the more you try. One of the under estimated realities is that when you up-level one area of your life, the benefits flow into other areas and before you know it several areas of your life improve – just like that. Just pick one focus and then go all in. When you get that one firing on all cylinders, move to the next one you choose. That’s how it works – a year from now you’ll be SO glad you did!
